pegtal
@ Hilux, My Coiler softboot carver, bought last year from a BOL member. I don't know if it's the spoken prototype. Specs from the seller : Length: 152cm Running Length: 132cm Waist Width: 240mm Taper: 6mm Radius: 9m Funny board for my 141 lbs, mounted with Burton Elevator and C60 bindings. For those who are interested, I'll post a report later. Still hesitating between Bomber and Kessler plates to replace Elevators.

Corey
Any shots of the pivots mazydog? The Tinkler plate is one of the ones I'm considering strongly but it's hard to get info on it.
www.oldsnowboards.com
Mazzy- what plates are those on the Bombers? Hey Eric. Do you mean under the binding plate? The new BP cants are lower with no "Ears" out the side. I just mounted mine up , it lowers the bindings just a bit. Very clean.
mazydog
corey, here are a few photos of how the plate attaches to the board, if thats what you are asking about.
Mr.E
Thanks, Bryan- yes, I meant the binding lower. I must have missed a BP lower assembly becoming available. Looks good. Mazy- that looks like a really fun set up.
Corey
Thanks mazydog! How do those pivots work? It looks like the bolts would be put in bending when the board bends. Maybe some 'cup in a bowl' type sliders?

www.oldsnowboards.com
Yeah...been pondering that myself. I would love an explanation, or better yet, to see it in action. Better yet, try it for yourself?? I did yesterday, worked really , really good!!! I think I have some video from yesterday, my computer is almost too slow to process HD and I don't have allot of time. See what I can do. Fortunately delivered another plate last night to a local that I ride with frequently and we should be able to get some video soon? www.oldsnowboards.com
Thanks for the great photos Jim!!! You do nice work!! You have the nicest board on the mountain for sure. I need to get Mike tooling on my version of something very similar. Did you contact BOL on the Fin Tecs? If you need anything, let me know. I can loan you a spare? valsam
mazydog what would happen if somebody charges and hits your board on the lift line? I would definitely like to see your face expression if that ever happens! And i also hope that you don't Carey a gun when you go riding, because if i had a peace of art like that and carried a gun i would definitely think of using it if someone did anything to hurt it! Mr.E
Dude- it's a snowboard. Granted, a very nice one, but geesh.
Mike T
I have a Coiler Softie prototype in my custody. It's very rider-frendly, very grippy, very stable, very edge-happy. I wear size 25.5 Burton boots and normally prefer 25 cm waisted softie boards o avoid boot-out. This one is 25.5 and I can still boot out on it... it's that edge happy. As-is, it's my favorite softie-deck to date. I've not yet had the pleasure of riding an uber-high-end BX board like a Kessler or Oxxess yet... nor have I been on the new Donek Saber yet... but this is in a different class for carving than anything else I've ridden softies on It's got the very distinctive Coiler feel. Can't wait to see what tweaks Bruce makes; I know I will own at least one of these as soon as Bruce is ready to start selling them. BTW it's a 164. Corey
I forgot to say it before mazydog - that thing is beautiful. Donek's carbon topsheet is equally beautiful but that has another layer of complexity. Better yet, try it for yourself?? Can you ship one to the middle of Canada for me to try? I can take pictures and do a short description of how it works. I don't doubt Tinkler, but I certainly don't have enough money to buy one of every plate to see which one I like best. I have to go off pictures and reviews to figure out what is likely to work best for me. Something that looks like it puts the bolts in bending is off my list until proven otherwise. ursle
Thanks mazydog! How do those pivots work? It looks like the bolts would be put in bending when the board bends. Maybe some 'cup in a bowl' type sliders? In the first picture, two posts in front of yours, that gizmo(outer pivot) is attached to the board on the outsides, the insides(notice the two attachment locations) are where the plate attaches, that gizmo is hollow and the inner gizmo(with plate attached)pivots, or rotates inside it, the tolerance between the two is tight, (?), lot's tighter then the front sliders on the apex plate I just set up I hope. So the gizmos are cool. the BBB is sorta questionable, the price is right. I wonder if it comes in white? Just saw your last post. I like the concept, and it can only get smaller, hopefully. Hilux
I have a Coiler Softie prototype in my custody. Uh oh, what have we started Again, that looks great...I hope these aren't supposed to be kept under wraps. Even though I don't ride softies, I'm interested to see how all of these perform compared to off the shelf varieties. What's the camber/rocker on these puppies like? Don't worry, I checked with Bruce before posting. Also avoided getting to specific It's a VSR with some decambering nose/tail, which of course may or may not be same as "finished product", only Bruce knows... www.oldsnowboards.com
mazydog what would happen if somebody charges and hits your board on the lift line?I would definitely like to see your face expression if that ever happens! And i also hope that you don't Carey a gun when you go riding, because if i had a peace of art like that and carried a gun i would definitely think of using it if someone did anything to hurt it! While we were riding together Firday the Tinkler Crew kept the gommers at bay. The lifties were all drooling by the time I would get up to the chair. It was fun to be loading next to Mike when they would ask "Who builds those boards??" , Mike; "Me" and a big smile. There were 4 guys all ride Tinkler full system boards. It is nice not to be the only ones. That way others can answer all the questions and I can enjoy the dumb looks.
www.oldsnowboards.com
brian, thanks.I contacted bol by e mail, hope to get the parts next week ride on Cool, let me know if you have any issues, I have rebuilt a few over the years. Just an FYI, the internal parts are VERY similar to the original F2 Intec heels. Make sure you use good grease (Bomber Butter) when putting them back together.
