  1. An INLINE monoski..... (Carry some poles, and ride it like a skwal, and it's legal.....)
  2. Snowbird gets my vote. I'll let the other locals chime in if they like others....
  3. The reports of 15 or 17 people in this one seem to be erroneous: Report When are people gonna learn? (I know, the answer is never....)
  4. Anyone got any experience with O'gio bags?
  5. I'll be working at The Canyons the 15th through the 17th. Shoot me an e-mail and we'll figure out how to get in contact if you would like.
  6. Canyon Sports REI Ski Connection Breeze/MAX Used to have them, I'm not sure if they do anymore. There are probably others, but the above mentioned are fairly accessible to downtown and the east side of SLC.
  7. Somenone else posted about signs of life at their resort, so here's my report: Spent the last week on snow, although I was working and didn't get to spend much time playing, I saw more hardbooters last week than I have seen in years. There were a couple of different groups of people every day. (Not the usual locals.) Also met Robert from AZ (nice taking a couple of runs w/ya, even though I was in softies.) It's refreshing to see we're not a dying breed.....
  8. That would be the Liquid Race 169... Just got one off of E-bay... Haven't ridden it yet, but looking forward to it...
  9. It's bought. I was surprised when I got it and it said "Designed by Mike Kildeavald" on it. It does look fun, I was just wondering if anyone here had experience with it... Now I just gotta add something in the 180is range to the quiver....
  10. Anyone have any experience with this board?
  11. I can get you any info you need on The Canyons if you plan on going there... I'll be there during your stay. If I'm not working (Not likely) I could take a few runs and show you around...
  12. Depending on your foot size, I've got a REALLY old pair of UPS / Aigner boots that you may be able to squeaze into. You're welcome to use them if you need. The'ry Ugly, but they would work better than ski boots...
  13. I believe someone else already answered this question... (heh heh...) As I understand what happened, when his backpack caught, he was at the very outer-end of the chair. He was drug around on the outside of the chair, and missed the bar (If there was one) because he was too far out. Next time you ride, check out the stop bars. Most of them are desiged to catch you if you are sitting on the chair, they don't reach beyond the end of the chair. maybe after this resorts will lengthen some them to catch situations like this.....
  14. I work at The Canyons, so if you need any guidance, direction or instruction while you are there, let me know.
  15. Sorry Jack, My spell-checker isn't working correclty today...
  16. You like the way a Madd rides? Wait till you try a ddaM!
  17. I remember I wanted to try one of those in the late 80's. They were high-tec back in the days of fins, no sidecut, no metal edges, etc. It would still be fun to try one.....
  18. I'm on my 3rd year riding Flows, and I love them. I'm running the Carbon BX bindings with Solomon Malamutes. I've had no problems with the interface, and this is definitely the stiffest "Soft" setup I have ever had. I actually get boot-bang the first couple of days each season with this setup. I've heard that some people who ride a lot (every day) can streatch out the "straps" but I have had no problem. I have also heard of people who will modify the "straps" and attach ratchets to one side so that they probably function a lot like the new K2 binders, allowing for a "tighter" fit. I have sworn a few times that I would never go back to straps, but those new K2's look interesting....
  19. This should be a fun thread. I had a freind who rode the softie releasables for a while. I don't think he ever actually got them to release while riding, but he liked them because they actually work as great lifters.... I don't personally think I would ride them. Obviously you need a leash for "brakes." Imagine having both feet release, with your board swinging around on the end of the lease, hacking off body parts as it flies by. No Thanks. They still have their web-site up if anyone is interested: www.rideharder.com
  20. I teach at The Canyons, so if you have any questions about The Canyons, or instruction, let me know. Bordy and Phil are usually at Park City, and they can help you out with instruction and questions there.
  21. I've got a pair I'll sell you - Make me an offer...
  22. So, we're riding up the lift one day, and we see a bunch of patrollers looking for someone - one person says "I wonder who they're looking for" - another person replies "Jimmy Hofa." From that day forward, that run has been Jimmy Hofa. I think my group of riding / skiing buddies has come up with a new name for almost every run in Utah... Since Randy wanted to keep this PG-13, I can't list most of them here... BTW - Neil is that you in your avatar? (Just kidding)
  23. Canyon sports has discount tickets, a few locations: http://www.canyonsports.com Ski Connection also has discount tickets: http://www.skiconnection.net/ I believe Breeze/Max also has discount tickets - the locations very close to resorts, or at resorts will not have them though, only locations in town.... P.S. The Cottonwood resorts pretty much always have more snow than the Park City resorts...
