  1. Oh... Those were the days....
  2. Hey Eddie, I'll be there first thing in the morning, so plan on it.... Is Billy going to make it? Anyone else in the Utah area interested?
  3. He's supposedly working for Head, or at least helping them out in R&D, they mention his name as designing the new "Intelligent" boards.... www.ridehead.com
  4. While you're handing out stuff to shred, keep me in mind too. I was Computer Geek, now unemployed - so send a little charity my way too..............
  5. Eddie, I just sent you an e-mail. I may be able to be there, I'll let you know.
  6. If you weren't planning on renting a car, you may want to stay slopside. I don't know of any hotels that are going to offer shuttles to the resorts, and there are other shuttles, but I believe that you're gonna end up paying as much for them as you would to rent a car. (I'm not positive on this one but pretty sure.) If you stay in SLC, you will be able to ride public transit to any of the cottonwood resorts (Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird, Alta) but I would not call that an "efficient" shuttle to the resorts. Check out skiutah.com, or go-utah.com, they can give you some more infomation about the transportation issue, but I think if you are going to be staying in SLC, and going to Park City / The Canyons, renting a car would be the best way to go. I live near SLC, so I don't know the details of transportation from Ogden to Snowbasin / Powder mountian, but I would guess it is the same. All the hotel chains have sites in and around SLC, you may want to check with them to see if they offer shuttle service to any of the resorts. I believe all of the hotels in and around Park City will offer some kind of shuttle service to the resorts - again check with them and see. There are a few that are just outside Park City that may be more affordable. OK, I ranted forever, hope this helps... Oh, and if you're into powder, check out cat skiing....
  7. Get in touch with Dave Tille - his username on the board is tilledog. He is in the process of setting up an online alpine store, and he currently has Deluxe boots available. He may be able to hook up with you while you are in SLC. As far as normal retail outlets for carving gear (especially boots) there really are not any. Salty Peaks has some old boards once in a while (I saw some old Burton demo stock there last time I went in... a year or so ago.) Check Dave's website to contact him: www.hardbooter.com
  8. Hey Billy, Are you just watching the PGS, or helping out or what. As long as nothing else comes up (like a real job), I will be there (at the PGS) spectating, with the whole family in tow.... Also, they are advertising exhibitions Sat. Is that just going to be freestyle, or will there be alpine "exhibitions" too? Anyone know?
  9. Yes I ride and work at The Canyons (try to work as little as possible.) I also have access to PC. Yew, we will have to get together and ride - preferably before the WTC.....
  10. Billy, As usual, I'm at The Canyons every Saturday if you wanna hook up. I'd also like to get a couple of days in at PC in the next little while, we'll see how thing go. Sounds like you're not a Cicero's any more, which i assume means you're riding more? Later...

So John, How does one go about getting ahold of one of the protos? Don't you need someone to do some R&D out west? (Ya, I know, it probably isn't going to happen, but I can dream can't I???)
  12. Hey utahcarver, next time you go to The Canyons, let me know a little in advance, I may be able to hook you up with discount tickets, and get together for a few turns.... Billy, when is the Grand Prix?

OK, I keep hearing rumors of Madds being produced again, so what is the absolute truth? When can I place my order? Ayone? Ayone? Ayone?
  14. We gotta do at least 1 day at The Canyons (preferable not Fri. or Sat, as I will probably have to work on those days....
  15. I used to be PSIA level I certified, before AASI came out. I quit paying my dues long ago when I realized (Like PSR) that PSIA/AASI is all about making $$$, not about furthering the carreers of their members..:(
  16. I don't know if I would call this a workout or not, but I spent a lot of time on a Carveboard last year, and my time to get into boarding shape last year was much shorter than usual. Riding the Carveboard 2 to 3 days a week worked all the correct muscles for carving.... Plus - I think lugging the huge tank-of-a-board back up the hill after each run helped also. I've also done the cycling, running, weight-lifting thing, but they just don't work the right muscles for me. The Carveboard (and I'm sure any other dry-land trainer like the T-board) and plain old laps on the hill have been my best forms of getting in carving shape. My $.02:cool:
  17. www.rideuta.com You'll be able to get to all the cottonwood resorts via bus, Park City, Snow Basin - no bus service. You may be able to hitch a ride with one of the local carvers though, I'm at The Canyons every Sat.
  18. I agree with Eddie, stay somewhere in the Salt Lake Valley, that will give you access to all of the resorts easily. I looked at skiutah.com, and it looked like there were packages under lodging that were in the valley, and included lift tickets. All of the major hotel chains have something somewhere in the valley, so it shouldn't be hard to find a place to stay. (I live in Sandy, just south of SLC, near Eddie, and ride mostly at Park City resorts.) Good luck, let us know when you're here.
  19. 3-4 days, since this will be the first ANNUAL Wasatch Trenchin' Convention - we can expand more in the future.......
  20. All we gotta do to get into deer valley is bump our binding angles up a little, and carry poles, then tell everyone that we're riding "Inline Monoskis"...... Right Billy?
  21. Just wanted to put my vote in for the dates, they sound good to me. I also have a limited ammount of discount tickets to The Canyons, but I don't know how many I will have left by March, but, for those interested, first come, first serve, they are yours.
  22. Picabo Street? Kristi Terzian? Heidi Voelker? Why isn't Billy on the list?
  23. Yep, we have talked a lot about it, but not solidified any dates. So, anyone interested, SPEAK UP! Late January, or early February, in between ECES and SES, that's my vote. As for places to ride? The Canyons, Park City are my votes. Others have suggested Snow Basin and Solitude as well. If we don't have an "Official" expression session, I'm sure you could hook up with a few of us when you get here anyway...
