Don't have any personal experience, but I've heard good things about Ogio's MotoX stuff. They make a very large bag that has compartments for boots, helmet, etc. Looks like it would work well for snowboard / ski gear too....

Probably a pretty good reference - If I remember right there is a quote from Mr. Jake Burton Carpenter about how he believed that Alpine was the future of snowboarding, while Tom Sims pushed freestyle. Guess Jake changed his mind eh? I also enjoyed these @ skateboarding: brought back many good memories The concrete wave : the history of skateboarding by Michael Brooke. The answer is never : a skateboarder's history of the world by Jocko Weyland. Haven't read this one, but it sounds interesting: History of skateboarding : from the backyard to the big time by Michael Martin. These are all available at my local library BTW.

Don't know if you consider Nidecker and F2 "Major" mfgs. as they are not in the ski business. They are both more "Major" mfgs. than Donek, Prior or Coiler. I guess Hot / Hammer would be in there too, although they are not readily available in the U.S.

Ok, I've got 8 boards floating around the house, out of which 5 get ridden regularly. 3 of them belong in a Museum: Early 90's Craig Kelly "Mystery Air", mid 90's M5, and a late 90's Hauser Freeride. OK, there's a late 90's Hooger Tuned that belongs in a Museum also, but I still ride it. My wife's little Airwalk Freeride board. My Brother-in-law's old Nitro freestyle board that he doesn't ride anymore, so I threw an old pair of plates on it and use if for teaching now and then. Rossi Levitation for teaching in softies. Rossi WC 190 for chasing rhinos....

Anyone ever name their kid something carving / snowboarding related? I always wanted to name one of my kids Trench, or maybe Doug Trench.... Anyone got any other ideas? MADDeline?......

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Flow binders in this thread? All the benefits of both step-ins and straps - what more could you want?

There's a guy in Utah that knows what Red Bones is too.... We USED TO have a local BBQ company here in UT called Red Bones, however, they had to quit using the name... Don't know if it's because of the Red Bones in Btown (I assume it was,) but someone, somewhere else forced them legally to change their name. They do have pretty good BBQ though...

Hey Mark, I've got a copy of board with the world, along with a bunch of other "Pre-school" vids. Unfortunately, I lost my copy of "Ch!ll" via a bad relationship, but the others are still intact. The quality isn't great, but I'm sure we could figure out how to get you a copy.....

You obviosly haven't seen any of the "old school" videos if you think that they didn't get as much air as they do today. Damian and Steve Graham and that crew went PLENTY big. Heh heh. We haven't had a post go on like this for a long time. (At least without it getting deleted.) Anyone want to talk about releasable bindings? Flame Away! And D-Sub - don't you mess with the jacket. It'll end up in a museum someday, long with most of the boards I still ride. :)

Yeah, I know, he didn't spin like they do now, but he looked BETTER.... At least back then riders had individual style. If you saw Damian ridiing, you knew it was him, by his riding style. Same with Craig Kelly, and all the old MBHC crew, etc. Nowadays I can't tell one little jibber from the other - they all look the same spinning and flipping and breaking their necks. A lot of the guys now probably do have their own style too. I just don't have time to follow it like I used to. The joys of being a desk jockey.... Oh, I gues I should be working...

The cool thing about the old freestylers like Damian is they didn't have to ride a 150 to be able to spin, etc. Damian always road a 175 and didn't have any problem spinning.

I learnt it from the man himself.... I don't ever remember seeing a reference to an "Iguana Air." Howver, I do remember Damian refering to Iguana backflips, seen hundreds of photos of him refering to Iguana backflips, and seen him do them hundreds of times in the old videos.....

Actually, the "Iguana Air" was a back flip with the tindy grab.

Heh heh, I love hearing those radio guys talk about cycling. Most of them know next to nothing about it. They know who Lance is, and maybe Lemond, but have no clue about the history of the sport, or anything else for that matter. I guess you could call Lance the greatest "Tour" cyclist of our generation. Maybe after Sunday the greatest "Tour" cyclist of all time, but definetely not the absolute greatest of all time. Hey Kent, What are those drugs that cancer survivors are jack'd up on? Where can I get some? If they've made it so Lance can with the Tour almost six times in a row, they could definetely make me a better weekend warior / desk jockey....;)

Lemond is turning in to a total weanie (is that legal?) I am losing all respect for the guy. Lance winning does not take away from what he did back in his day, and it doesn't mean lance is doping. It's a different era.... Anyway, enough about Gregory. Howz about Lance on L'Alp d'Huez today? 5 more stages, and it should be in the bag...

I've got an old pair of Raichle 123's, size 27 that may work for you. Or, and even OLDER pair of UPS / Aigner day-glo, also size 27 (EUR 42). If you're at all interested, let me know. I can get you into either pair within your budget. Neither pair are top o' the line, but probably better than ski boots.

It depends on what is open, like you mentioned.... At The Canyons, if the Snow Canyon lift is still open, that's where the most wide-open terrain is, but it gets cheesed up quickly as Eddie mentioned. If the Super Condor lift is open, Boa is always fun, as wel as Apex Ridge. Any of the blue runs off of the Saddleback chair are OK, but can get crowded at times. Another world, off of the Tombstone chair is usually good for a few turns, and stays fairly shaded. There is also a lot of blue terrain off of the Daybreak and Dreamscape chairs, but the trails tend to be narrow, and I myself have not had a lot of time to explore that part of the resort, as I spend too much time teaching. Park City is always good too, as Eddie mentioned. Let me know if you have any other questions.....

Thermoflex and Thermofit are not the same... Thermoflex liners are the overlap liners, which are moldable. Thermofit liners are the liners sold in Deeluxe boots with the tongue, (no overlap) and the small "booster" velcro strap on the top of the liner. The liners in the Indy's say "full thermo fit" the liners in the Suzukas say something like "partial thermo fit" - heel only. I'm not sure if you are supposed to bake the "Thermofit" liners or not. Could someone who knows something about this fill us clueless ones in?

The last day to order the MADDs has been bumped to April 15th. Should I? Shouldn't I? How to talk the wife into letting me buy another board...............
