  1. You could just insert the entire commentary into our “heard it in the lift line“ thread.
  2. Dude at Whitefish: “what are those things? What’s the point?” @trailertrash: not having it, points at me. Dude’s friend: “oh he’s deaf.” lol
  3. Not if you buy from i-carve.com. More like $1000 shipped for the stock boards. My full custom 180 was about $1800 all in, purchased directly from Kessler.
  4. The article offers it as a suggestion, not a commandment. It’s all personal preference. It may not occur to some to try it, so I suggest it. Some people like outward canting on their front foot, or both, or neither. I used to use inward canting on my front foot (TD cant disc at 90°, binding at 58°) and outward on my back foot (cant at 45°, binding at 56°). When I switched to MS boots I had to get rid of the canting altogether. Lately I’ve gone to a slight inward cant on my front foot (cant at 75°, binding at 58°). The MS cuffs must be canted differently out of the box.

  7. Family site! It’s been this way since 1999.

  9. Could just be a sticker. Maybe she's repping her bindings, which would be kind of funny since F2 already has 99.9% of the racer market.
  10. I meant that UPZ has a wide-ish forefoot, narrow ankle/heel. T700 is at least as wide in the forefoot and has a roomier ankle/heel. I put my foot in a 425 once and it felt narrower to me. I had to have my UPZ‘s stretched for width in front. I did not have to do that with T700s or Mountain Slopes. The UPZ‘s and mountain slopes have awesome heel hold. I had some heel lift in the T700s which many people report unless they have high volume ankles or arches.
  11. Define equivalent. F2 under Stefan Baumeister are leading the FIS season in GS. My F2 World Cup 163 and Proto SL leave me wanting for nothing in a SL board. A new old stock WC 163 has got to be the biggest bang for the buck on the planet for an ice/early-season/short board. I'll get another when this one wears out. That said, I do believe Kessler has a magic formula with their clothoid sidecut and camber curves.
  12. Your attachment quota was full. I deleted some old images. You should be able to post more images now. If you need more space you can buy a subscription. Unfortunately hosting space costs us money.
  13. Maybe you have the scale rotated. Normally we say 0 degrees is the boots pointing straight across the board. 90 degrees is the boots pointing exactly towards the nose of the board. So hopefully your bindings are actually at 54 degrees on the front foot, 46 degrees on the back foot. This can be an OK place to start, but as you get better you will tilt the board up higher and your boots will start to drag in the snow. Then you will need to increase binding angle. Unfortunately in such an unusual sport, one must buy equipment to try and then sell it if it doesn't work out, and buy something else. Check out our classifieds for used and new-old-stock gear. Good luck!
  14. You seek Sugarloaf. They dropped many ropes yesterday, including the mighty Gondola Line. I went down a couple newly opened all-natural trails and was surprised they were open! Lift status boards are working too. I think most resorts in the northeast are suffering from little natural snow so far this year. At least we haven't gotten the usual devastating thaw, knock on wood.
  15. Then probably yes but you will also want something shorter and turnier to compliment this board, like around 170-175. This 185 is a board for good conditions and low crowds when you can let it rip. Or if you are racing GS. Loooong sidecut radius. Also make sure the stance width will work for you.
  16. My wife uses Lenz socks and likes them better than her old Hot-tronic. One really nice thing, you can adjust them on your phone via Bluetooth. The Lenz battery is much more sleek and isn't in danger of getting knocked off your boot. You fold it under the top of the sock. Maybe HT has these features now, IDK. I agree the price is eye-watering, but if the disposable warmers aren't cutting it, socks can be worth it. Fortunately the disposables work for me down to about 0F, colder than that and I need to take a warm-up break. The cost analysis for me strongly favors the disposables which you can get in bulk on Amazon for less than $1 a pair.
  17. Check your units. Also, something tells me the OP uses the Metric system. This article might be helpful: http://alpinesnowboarder.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/canting-and-lift.pdf With US size 12 boots I'll make a guess that you're at least 183cm tall. In which case you will probably feel better with around a 50 to 52cm wide stance. Get rid of the cants for now (the wedges tilting your feet inward) and try to achieve some toe lift on the front binding and heel lift on the back binding. You're going to need to increase your binding angles so your toes and heels don't drag in the snow. Also that board might be too small.
  18. So umm, @Germans Dontlaugh, you didn't mention boots... are you using hardboots on the F2 Speedster?
  19. Seconded. The AF turned my K168 into a hockey skate. Surprised at Barry's experience on the Rev.
  20. Peacock (NBC) app is your friend!! $5/month, cancel anytime. full coverage of live and previous race events Also has other snowboard comps, The Office and other cool stuff.
  21. Welcome! Assuming you have F2 bindings, you will probably benefit from buying another lift kit and installing it under your front foot toe. If you can’t wait, and if you have a lift under your rear heel, try moving it to under your front foot toe. Also, remove any cant wedges. Then experiment from there. Good luck!
  22. He is a coach and he works with racers at CVA so he wanted to "put his money where his mouth is" as he put it. I doubt he'll convert but he may add it to his bag of tricks with my help. He's an excellent softbooter, was pro for a while riding urban. Were you proficient at carving your softboot gear? Not trying to be a dink, but I see a number of locals on a regular basis who have never and will never carve. Going on decades now. I just mean it never occurred to them to put the edge in the snow, and nobody ever taught them. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just that they would have a very hard time with hardboots without ever having carved their softboots.
  23. Measure from the floor to the tip of her nose, that would be a good length to start with.

    Cody Winters 1st

Cody was also gaining on Karl after the mistake. If the race was 3 gates longer he might have won!
