  1. I see the vaccine a bit the like the nitrile gloves i wear in work there primarily to prevent static discharge into fragile electronics but the also serve the purpose of giving me a level of protection against electric shock. Now i don't ever rely on them to protect me but they can make the difference between ouch that hurt and having to go to the hospital should the worst happen a bit like the vaccine.
  2. It is what it is i full expected to catch it at some point i was just hoping it either wouldnt be that bad or id have had at least my first dose of vaccine. I survived mostly unscathed that's important thing as i know there have been many less fortunate than myself
  3. Not really I work pretty much alone in an electrical testing lab at work and im pretty anti social so i generally either have my breaks there or in my car. Other than grocery shopping and mountain biking ive not really done much with really any sort of human interaction in the past couple of months . So where i got it no idea In terms of vaccination i was going to chase up my appointment the weekend i had gotten sick as i hadnt recieved the fabled blue envelope through post telling me when my first dose was to be. I had checked a couple of times previous using the online tool but it always showed nothing was booked for me which i put down to being 35 with no underlying health conditions that could make corona be an issue. Incase you dont know here folk were vaccinated in terms of age and risk so i was pretty much at the bottom of the list for vaccination. It later transpired that my local health center had neglected to change my address 5 years ago when i moved even though i had filled out the required form and informed them. So aparently I was still registered under my old address and that was where my appointment letter had been sent and since i was using my correct address online to check it showed nothing was booked for me . Now i have to wait another couple of weeks before i can get dose number 1 as they want me to wait 4 weeks from the end of major symptons before i can get jagged.
  4. Not really canada related but I caught what was most likely the delta variant of corona about 5weeks ago now and im still recovering. Having been in probably the best shape i have been in years it hit me incredibly hard i can easily see how anyone with any sort of underlying health conditions is in serious trouble if they catch it. For those that are interested my experience was incredible fatigue and tiredness for the first couple of days. I then felt fine for a day followed by what felt like really bad stomach flu for a week where i had a complete loss of appetite all i could literally eat was apples oranges and the very occsional bowl of soup i could force into me. After that I felt fine again for a day....... and then i started to cough which resulted in me coughing so hard i cracked the cartiledge connecting one of my ribs. By the end of the day i was only able to take small little breathes as my chest was feeling super tight and probably the most terrifying thing was i began to cough up blood. For about 2 days i lay on my chest and just focused on my breathing trying to take slightly bigger breathes than were comfortable and fortunately on the third day things started to improve. Ever since then ive made a steady improvement bit by bit but im still finding that i get out of breath fairly easily but it is improving and with luck in a week or two i should be fully back to my normal self. On a lighter note its an amazing diet i went from 94kg to 85kg in two weeks lol sadly it was mostly muscle waistage but i do feel nice and light now
  5. Id love to be able to attend but its a bit like the montucky clearcut with international travel up in air its pretty unlikely. At the moment i'm not even allowed to fly into the US due to living on plague island
  6. i do wonder if part of the issue with the h-metal is stiffness vs rider weight in combination with not great snow conditions. kagayaking on the fanatic g-one
  7. doesnt embed but the link works, I'm wondering if its a dryslope specific board as the base looks like the steel edge goes way further into the base but it could just be the graphic
  8. Its going largely depend on how international travel is closer to the time but id love to attend
  9. If i ever get there ill endeavour to be the acceptable face of not so soft boots lol
  10. That was my thoughts when i tried them on in store £400 was way to much for boot that would last a season at best
  11. should also point out there is a different kinds of setback.... setback on sidecut bindings arent centered on the center of the sidecut setback on board but centered on sidecut here the board is built with a longer nose than tail but the bindings are centered on the sidecut. you can get mixtures and variations also depending on if the boad is directional, true twin, has a standard sidecut or VSR ect
  12. Pretty good in terms of grip there very similar to the DH34 down hill tyres i have on my demo 8. they are a bit lighter so accelerate a little faster but the rolling speed is still pretty terrible so if your pedaling alot there not the best. The casing is a little lighter also which means i have to ride slightly higher pressures to keep support in the tyre when pushed hard. I'm not so much the scottish sam hill as the my friends equivelent of the mountain bike top gear stig i'm the tame ex racer who quite likes riding in bright white gear even if its super muddy Probably going to switch out the rockshox super delux for a fox X2 at some point i need something with alot more slow speed compression damping and short of getting a custom tune there isnt to much i can do with the current shock other than throw more air in it
  13. I disconnect one of my karakorams and take it with me lol, still always eat with the board in eyesight though
  14. Im converting my mate to acoustic though his ebike seems to be doing that for me in two years everything electrical has been replaced under warranty.... give it 4 or 5 years and there will be alot of very broken ebikes on the second hand market
  15. Should look pretty epic when its built up With how the enduro is so similar to the demo 8 in design im suprised they didnt resurect the old demo 7 name which was the the shorter travel variant of the 8. I got a Nukeproof Mega 275 myself just before christmas not standard spec im upgrading it bit by bit to my prefered spec
  16. Its funny how people deal with things differently i am to actually trying to not think about what im doing and just carve/ride on instinct. I found that if i thought about what i was doing id get scared and inevitably make mistakes leading to a crash/slide out
  17. Limbo reminds me of when my friend bet me I couldn't thread the needle the slow sign at the indoor slope https://www.instagram.com/p/BsHCsqFlR01/?igshid=1vvkbyfzeav8
  18. i loved the jetsons as a kid so it defintely gets thumbs up from me
  19. Normally id be snowboarding all year round at the indoor slope but thats been closed nearly for the whole year due to the rona and so have the outdoor resorts. As a result ive pretty much reverted back to mountain biking full time to the extent the devil on my shoulder is trying to convince me into racing again as one last hurrah
  20. I'm just a jack(hack) of all trades i do a bit of everything for the most part, so heres a couple of bits more of the topsheet im currently working on. Logo i did for my friends company texture sheet for the hull of the T-80u tank model thats at the bottom Album art for my friends band Close up of Donek thats hidden in the ropes of my current boards graphic. In game picture of the T-80U that i worked on. *if you click the image and click again youll get the full size version* I could never do anything artistic for a job because im way to slow and i dont want to get burnt out again or hate it's pretty much the same reason ive never wanted to be a snowboard instructor. I enjoy my current job alot anyway
  21. Not really i'm an electrical safety and repairs technican at a recycling company. Which is actually how i got the wacom cintiq tablet it came into be recycled and i repaired it and my bosses let me keep it. I have done some contract 3d work for video games and some design work for a friends company but its more of a hobby than a occupation.
  22. I do my own typically takes me about a year to do one since i kind of work in stops and starts
  23. As someone who's suffered a similar break i can whole heartedly say i feel her pain. on the bright side atleast her foot is still facing forwards not backwards like mines was An emergency release would seem like a bright idea as i can imagine it would stop some knee injuries also from similar high rotational forces
  24. reminds me of when i took the donek switch down a mogul field in bulgaria just to prove to my friend that i could
