  1. I get the feeling width of the titanal sheets might be an issue asuming there not using it as strips. When i eventually pull the trigger on my next board from donek ill probably be having conversations with sean regarding titanal on a very wide board lol
  2. well im 90kg and 180cm with size 11 boots I was able to ride the 159XT just fine but i found it a little bit to soft especially in the nose. If I was to buy another one it would be the 164XT. Personally i really wish they made an ultra wide titan soul or there force BX board OES make a semi hammerhead board that has a 28.1cm waste https://www.oes.cat/index.php/en/our-production/fr/162-fr-wide
  3. Give that man a gold fish :D! Its an apple led 27" cinema display 1440p and has great colour accuracy not really meant to be used with a windows pc but its actually pretty great. I really like it, a big improvement in terms of precision especially on areas where its really need like the uphill chicane at the nurburgring gp course. My only dislike is that the brake pedal is pretty stiff compared to even my own car to the extent ive pushed my desk chair backwards a few times when ive hit the brakes. The course is monza just running a short season and its the first round wanting to get used to the wheel. At the momment im around a 1.52min lap with the wheel vs a 1.51 ish with the ps4 controller. I've not really played to much with the set up other than abs/tc, fuel load and aero. hopefully in the next couple of days or so ill fully adjust hopefully start getting into the sub 1.50 laps so i can be competitive online.
  4. Got my wheel its going to take a bit of getting used to especially driving at limit when the car starts to want to over rotate. I'm finding im having to run higher ABS and TC with the wheel compared to controller 3/4 vs 2/3 . The set up bonus points for anyone that can spot the unusual bit
  5. Well ive bought a logitech G923 wheel which should be in my grubby hands friday
  6. I geniunely dont mind zandvoort to much my only issue was confusing it with zolder for the first lap . I think my biggest issue was i literally spent hundreds of hours racing my old man around mid 90s monza in superbike 98. This vid shows the old layout its a bit of a zig zag but it flowed so much better than current one you litterally have to crawl through
  7. The physics are close enough on the McLaren 650 that my lap times around brands Hatch are with in a second of each other using the PS4 pad. I'd say assetto is maybe a little easier on the limit up until it isn't where there is no saving a spin. Fair to say I'm bitten by the bug I'm tempted to buy a wheel and pedals which will be the first time since I had Microsoft sidewinder wheel when I was a kid playing grand prix 4. Also the first Monza chicane is the worst bit of track design ever and brands turn one is awkward no matter the sim
  8. Played a bit so Asseto so far it seems pretty good. Its suprising how similar the handling is to Gt sport but its going to take me a bit to get used to as ive not quite got a feel for whats going to make the car want to start wanting to oversteer just yet. @daveo are you playing with a wheel or a pad at the momment im using an old Xbox 360 pad ive had for years but im probably going to give the ps4 pad a try out of curiosity
  9. ill have a look tonight see how i like it
  10. Yes and no, Yes my fitness meant my lung capacity and ability to absorb oxygen was good enough that i could get by quite happily on only one lung. No because it meant i could get by quite happily on one lung so i wasnt exactly rushing to the ER/AnE department(4 weeks later) so it made reinflating it more awkward than a normal collapsed lung
  11. literally 2 weeks before i got the rona i eventually managed to out climb my friend on his ebike. It did take 5000+ vertical feet of climbing but his battery eventually raised the white flag cue the heckling from me when he had to get off and start walking
  12. Mostly just GT Sport online but i do play alot of Dirt 2 offline as ive always loved rally games as a kid
  13. The SG Soul comes in a 149 or a 154 if she wants something a little bigger https://www.sgsnowboards.com/snowboards/soul/
  14. Well I'm healing up pretty well now ive been out of hospital a couple of weeks . Still under doctors orders to keep it very easy going but im feeling pretty normal now and my lung capacity is back to being where it should be for someone my age. So it looks like by the time the snow starts landing i should be able to jump on a board again
  15. listing your waist width as "secret" is not going to make me buy your board https://www.flux-bindings.com/products/DR/ looks like flux have been listening to carvers and made a variation of the XF chassis with a much higher heel loop https://www.flux-bindings.com/products/CV/?color=2
  16. Softbooter and very ocasional hardbooter so take what i say with a grain of salt. Id say flex and sidecut will have more effect over control ability and speed required far more than length.
  17. since mostly everything with doneks is custom youll probably want to list the spec's in terms of waist width, sidecut radius, and the weight of the rider the board was built for. Also you can upload images to a site like https://imgur.com/ and then just link to them in your post
  18. The kagayaking videos are pretty much how i discovered the wonderful youtube rabbit hole of japanese and korean carving vids
  19. I should be fine and hopefully out of hospital In a few days. Fingers crossed your wife's infection gets no worse than what it is already neil
  20. I found the exact same I did get the feeling it was to limit the amount of sideways force you can put through the boot binding combo so as reduce the likely hood of the locking mechanism failing
  21. Now well here's a fun little update on myself . A few weeks after having recovered from covid I had started exercising again going mountain biking but taking it fairly easily. So far so good I decided go to commonwealth games MTB trails in Glasgow one Saturday morning. Decided to push myself a little bit and sprint a small section on the fun blue flow trail. This resulted in me being completely breathless and coughing for around 20-30 mins straight. I chalked it up to pushing to hard to soon so had an easy rest of the day and went a walk on the Sunday but was still finding I got out of breathe quite easily... With the health services being super stretched and otherwise feeling ok I decided to give it a couple of weeks see if I improved. Two weeks later with no real improvement still coughing from time to time and being breathless during physical activity I had a telephone appointment with the Doctor who reckoned it was a bit of long covid mixed with mucus in my lungs that had instead of sitting at bottom of my lungs was now evenly coating the inside limiting there ability to absorb oxygen. So I prescribed some tablets to help break up the mucus and booked me for an x-ray in two weeks to confirm the diagnosis and look for any further damage. Roll on Thursday the 26th I have my xray and it wasn't exactly what was expected... So the radiologists take my xray and instantly ask if I've just had an operation to which I replied eehhh no just covid a couple of months ago. One then rushed grabbed a seat and told me to sit down and to try and relax. A doctor then pretty much came running into the room asking if I was able to walk, I replied yes I walked in and I've been walking about for the past 4 weeks feeling like this. From there I was shown the way around to accident and emergency where the doctor told the reception I needed a bay to be treated immediately. So still not entirely sure what was up I was led to a bay and the head consultant of accident and emergency appeared to see and treat me himself. Apparently my shortness of breathe of cough were the result of a completely collapsed right lung. Seemingly my fitness level and lung capacity had meant I was able to quite easily cope and live with only one functioning as I had been going to work like normal the entire time also. So I was fitted with a chest drain all while having lots of curious nurses and doctors walking by to see the curious site of guy who didn't realize he was only firing on one cylinder for 4 weeks. Well a boring week later in hospital I get keyhole surgery to remove damaged bit of lung that had become a little infected and to also treat a bit of infection in the chest wall. I'm now on mend just waiting for my lung to heal up and reseal so I can escape home in theory other than short term recovery I should be fine in the long run I'm just going to need to take it easy for bit
  22. Yeah I've always got the impression his hardboot rants are more just for show and humor like how I slag off my friend who ski's and he slags for being on a board
  23. apparently i have 30 days paid holiday to take so if things are reasonable travel and health wise Ill cross my fingers and hope i can make it
