  1. Any advice on where to find a boot fitter in Barcelona? By any chance? Most of you guys are in the States/Canada right? By the way - can the original Deluxe Thermo Fit liners be remoulded? I bough the boots and liners from someone. I'd give it a try if possible.
  2. I have exactly the same problem with my Deluxe 700T. I think a change of liner might help me.
  3. I will look into getting a newer board when this season is over and there are some sales. I nearly bought a new board a few months back, but we signed up for a mortgage which emptied the piggy bank entirely. I was going to buy an 17/18 F2 Silberpfeil Vantage 162, or even push up to a n 19/20 SG Full Race Titan 163XT or a 20/21 SG Full Carve 163. A bit of a stretch since I don't get to go that often but I rationalise it by imagining if I have a good board, I'll have even more fun and will go more often. Thanks for the tips in any case!
  4. Indeed. I bought second hand deeluxe hard-boots. The shells are in very good condition, but I think the insoles are either a bit too small for me, or have been molded to the previous owners feet - or both! (Thermo-Fit). I reckon I should try to get new insloles. The worst was the pinch under my ankles.... a full blister had bubbled up by the end of the day. Next time I will wrap that area with a bandage first as once the skin lifted, it was agonising. That is good advice. I reckon I need to just go for it.
  5. I went boarding last week for the first time in 2 years and I must say it was tough. It had snowed quite a bit the few days previously and I found myself really fighting the piste to keep an edge down... it was cut-up pretty quickly after the first hour. Where can I find some good tips on technique when it comes to carving with hard boots on choppy piste. The boots cut my feet to bits and my thigh muscle was burning with pain. Perhaps I am out of practice. I feel bad that I considered switching back to my soft boots and a soft bindings on my old regular Burton board. Any other beginner/ intermediate who have similar issues?
  6. Thanks guys. I have an old Rossi that I ride... you can see it here: https://justpaste.it/992nu This "BX" one is for sale quite cheap... I was wondering would it feel very different to what I already have? I have no specs - so if any detective has good eyes - I'd be curious to hear your opinion. I also don't want to collect useless old boards.... and should save up for a higher quality new board. still... when one see ads... it is hard to resist.
  7. Hello everyone I have come across a snowboard for sale but cannot seem to find any info on the type of board it is. The seller says it is an "Atlantica Bordercross Snowboard 160cm" and made in Austria. Does anyone recognise this board? It is a used board and for sale at a low price - so I presume it is probably not much good? Here are some photos: https://justpaste.it/8r9m2 Thanks.
  8. Moltes gràcies Rodolphe! I have spent a week in Pas de la Casa before, and it was really wonderful. I guess time on the slopes in a big issue. Although from where I live to the resorts is 2-4 hours drive, the reality is that it is difficult to get to the mountains for more than 3 or 4 weekends per season. The advice to practice more is a good one. If I come to Pas de la Casa again, I will look for you. My daughter who is 5, will try skiing/boarding this year for the first time. Perhaps we can go to your school. Fins ara!
  9. Great discussion on F2 boards chaps! Very informative.
  10. Hi guys... so much detailed knowledge and advice. I must say, I feel very conflicted. I have found a new 2017 Vantage from a European warehouse for €200 plus shipping. However, having read your tips and researched more, I must say it is very tempting to consider buying the likes of a Kessler The Alpine or something Titanium of that pedigree. It may be wise for me to put in a good season on my old Rossi, try to improve my carving, and then be in a better position to choose a good board in the next off season. Mmmm. Hard choice. First world problems, eh!
  11. Any suggestions b.free? For modern used slalom multi various sidecut boards with 162/165 length? Some of the guys mentioned the 19/20 SG Full Race Titan 163XT, which costs about €800. Anything in the €300 - €400 range of interest? It is a good point though... why spend €200 or €300 on a board that is the same as what I have?
  12. My tale takes another twist! I have found a great deal on both a 162cm and 168cm F2 Silberpfeil Vantage (2016/2017 model). Should I consider the the 168 as I am nearly 200lbs (86kg) ??? This is exciting. So cool have such constructive knowledgable feedback from you guys! Thanks! Hi Pokkis... I didn't investigate that fully... I just searched a price for that board..... regardless, at this point in time I'd rather a number starting with a 2, and have no more than two more digits after it! Interesting note about that board Pokkis, "DID YOU KNOW? – The 163 XT is the option for large boots – no boot outs! This board is great for taller guys with bigger feet 9.5/10.0 (43/44) and up. " I haven't thought about that. I wear size 45 boots!
  13. "Never try to change edges while sliding; the downhill edge will catch if you try to put any weight on it." I know all about that!
  14. Thanks Pokkis.... but 1.150 € is way way out of my budget for an occasional snowboarder. One day perhaps!
  15. Good point. I have an extra set of hard boot bindings, so I can have my old Rossi as a back up - allowing me to easily do a morning with one board, and an afternoon with the other. Time to start doing squats to try and build up those quad muscles... due to Covid it has been two years since I have been on the snow!
