  1. Buell said it all! I thought my Virus UFC was fast .....until I tried a Kessler Alpine 171! St Lupo check out the specs...the 171 has a smaller blade, waist, tail than a 162!! I was tearing up from the G-forces and thought I was gonna wet my pants!
  2. Hey Hawkins Hope you can find a local buyer If not, I'm in Tahoe if your coming up anytime to ride this winter...............I'd take the TD3 SW SI's
  3. So St Lupo, you gonna do some Bronc Busting are ya..............well, until you get the reins of that Kessler just expect your gonna get bucked off........not a matter of if but when!
  4. Yesterday on my Swoard EC 175 with TD3 SW SI's + a set of Gecko carve plates.......multiple times, from all ages, in the lift line, on the lift, at the top of the lift the #1 question I would get was something to the extent of : That looks omg fast, What the Hell is That! My patience and explanations of "Parallel Slalom, it's an Olympic Event - Google It"! get worn down after the first 4 or 5 time, and I get to the point I just say - "What This?...This is Pure Sex, Baby!" if they smile I keep moving, if they look perplexed I tell em.."Go ask ya Mama!" Today on my Moss PQ60............I get: what's that, what board is that, tell me about that, - I usually tell them about Moss Snowsticks..........but again I get to a point in the day and my generic response turns to "This is Tha Triple F!" ...when they look perplexed I say..."Fast, Fun and Furious" as I'm stepping in and sliding away.
  5. Hey Alexey What ever happened to that "Boardsharing Demo Offer you posted in November" ?? Anybody here ever make direct contact with the man and get a Demo board???
  6. Chouinard, Love that photo of Mark Fawcett! ....and I also still have that issue from 2000!! ....and that photo of Mark has always been inspirational and a style I strive to emulate!

  12. Yeah...what the Big M says... And...try reversing your cant disks....put the 6 in back and 3 up front... more the norm for most riders fme......(if there is such a thing with all the micro adjustment we do in riding hardboots and plate bindings!) This will give your rear knee more forward lean which will put you/your body more forward which puts more weight on the nose which will help you initiate quicker/smoother, which will put you "driving" the board...not sitting back and catching up to what the board is doing...which is what's happening on your heelsides...but then again your on or coming into a green run so that relaxed "riding" the board could be you relaxing as your losing speed. Also try this: your regular, so on your heel side bring your hands in front...(always a good practice no matter which turn) and as your hitting/initiating your heel side turn....try to make your right elbow touch your left knee....and hold it as the board whips around. Could be an omg moment!, You will really see/feel the board really react to that energy/body input. Speed is your friend and you only need some easy blue run to really get the feel of this.....and once your used to that responsiveness on your heelsides you'll want it all the time and start bringing it into your toeside turns.................. Happy Trenching!
  13. Hey AB Cool photos! What Mtn.? Looks better conditions than we have at Squaw! To give you best educated advice it would help to know what board, what bindings, what angles, what cants or cant disks, what stance...etc.
  14. Anybody know if there snow conditions have improved yet??
  15. Softbooter thanks for sharing. We did you find it?? Loved it! Glad I'm living the dream......and riding a Moss!
  16. Hey E, I was over there, the last time was ....let's see, five years ago. I went over 7 winters guiding and I've always stayed at the Matterhorn Hostel http://www.matterhornhostel.com/en/index/ Spartan and cheap...but I was only needing a bed when not on the Matterhorn, not entertaining family. It's 10 minutes up the hill from the train station past the Fallen Mountaineers Memorial and 5 minutes from the lift. It's Zermatt! They rent Everything! You gotta dig alittle to get to the right shop but they did have carving rentals there in a couple of shops...........Kessler, Virus and SG boards is what I saw.......but the deposit was Huge, like new board Huge! and they charged your card first and then reversed the charge when you brought it back.......could all be different now. Jan. does sound like shoulder season. I was always there in Feb/March I see you planning a year ahead so you got plenty of time to firm up intel. Good hunting!
  17. Looking for a set of TD3 Sidewinder Step In's The degree of cant disk or color Epad doesn't matter................
  18. Corey, at "Just a little over tight" you gotta be getting some binding suck/dimpled base - yes? So don't worry about it??
  19. Hey Lowrider...I wouldn't call it a torque wrench in the true sense of the term.....these tools are preset so to not let you pass a specific load....... Bike mechanics use them all the time so as to not crush expensive carbon fiber parts. How tight is 3nm? .........without a tool to measure it I have no clue. I just can't find one for 3 nm
  20. lonbordin...I here ya west vs East coast ice........I'm from NH and we also have a home in Franconia at Cannon Mtn. I know Ice and I tell ya Squaw grooms at 5pm and it sets up like concrete!! ....................also that video isn't Squaw, it's Alpine Meadows on the Bunny hill!
  21. I've ben using a 6nm preset torque wrench (6nm Park Tool see below) to tighten down my TD3's. My tuner says the Bomber TD3's shouldn't be any tighter than 3nm.....to avoid binding suck and over torquing the inserts.. Anybody got a preset 3nm tool they recommend ??
  22. Thanks there Corey - Next question, Why would you choose A over F over AF ??
  23. So.......but what's the difference between Donek's A, F and AF ?? Curious minds want to know..........
  24. Hey Lonbordin........ thanks for that info....but have ya been to Squaw recently? Yes, the snow conditions in general are never boiler plate, but Squaws (what they call) grooming Sucks! lots of unevenness and death cookies there. Not the Mtn. for hard charging carving imo~
  25. So there's an A, F and AF Plates from Sean............didn't really see it spelled out on Donek website....so what's the difference and best application for each?? What's the application/performance difference from Plates and Apex Geckos ??
