  1. Wow! Quite the difference in personalities there Erik!! The MK sounds like it suffers suffers from Hyperactivity Disorder....... and Speed is it's Only medication !!! The MK sounds much more demanding to be in a relationship with. The MK's gotta be constantly active........going straight is Not What It Want's! The Angry sounds like - You want get twitchy, I'm your ride, let's go!.......you wanna just cruise and pop some tight turns here and there, Let's go, I got your back! How'd I do Erik??
  2. fyi: This ain't getting any traction in WTB - and desperate times calls for desperate measures - Admin read on and do as you see fit to leave it or drop it......... Somehow ECing my 3? week old 168 Swoard Dual II I put a 13 inch delam in the toe side - .......and off it goes back to France for warranty - that will be at least a 3 week turn around - Ugh! That's IF Swoard warranty's it.... this is my 4th Swoard board and Patrice and the Swoard boys know me pretty well......I'm aggressive/hard charging most of the time on their boards BUT I'm outside their weight range, 225lbs on all Swoard boards and I here's the problem..........I usually go with a shorter and/or softer board than they want me to! So they may not warranty this delam! That was my everyday work board.......... so I'm scrambling between my rock board and pow board for doing my job on the Mtn......... the rock board is too soft and too beat and I'm trying to save the pow board from the daily wear and tear and just for pow! ........so I need another Swoard or equivalent if anybody's got a Gen 1 Dual 168, 175....heck I would even ride a 163, bet that could make some tight turns! Let me know what ya got, anything ...160ish, 25ish w, built like a tank, can float and bust through the chop, can and wants to carve.....and could get out to me in Cali - ASAP! I need it yesterday!
  3. Well, in my situation the Step On experiment was driven solely by convenience, not performance... as I work on the Mtn. most every day...in hardboots...and as I mentioned it was So nice to drive to the Mtn. in soft boots, walk through the village in softboots, walk to the lift in softboots, etc. But the Step On's aren't there yet performance wise for me to make the convenience pay off......... With my pow/surf setup - Moss PQ60 and TD3 SW SI's and Deluxe super soft 325's hardboots I don't give up any carving or edge hold and I can still surf and pump surf through waist deep pow or slash lip turns and then jump back out on the groom and lay down a wicked tight carve......all on the same run!! I love it!!
  4. My 2 cents...............No, didn't stink..... I could ride it, but not Drive It like my hardboot setups.......and I was using Power Plates with it! It's a step up in performance from soft boots...but a step down, or two! from hardboots. I just could not see going backwards performance wise....(but it was nice to drive in soft boots, walk to the lift in softboots).....so I sent them back! I would try it again in a year or two after they get it more refined..............and I would try it with Geckos instead of Power Plates.
  5. Jim thanks for your input! This might be like comparing apples and .... watermelons!....but I do like being "pretty much on" with all my riding and especially when on my custom Coiler EC SS ("Super Soft" a stiffness/flex for a 180lb rider) 177 at Mach I...I think I'm pretty aggressive on it and I'm panting from the effort/input trying to lay it down every turn by the time I'm back at the lift..............but the big Coiler needs a lot of real estate to let it run, aka: trail width....and my brain gives out way before my legs when all the meat poles, skittles and park rat gangs start littering the trail! That's why and when I wish I had a shorter turny board that only needs half as much trail to get my carve on....and dodge the bullets! Maybe that's not a MK or Angry....you turny board Sages tell me! My only prerequisite is nothing smaller than a 20.5 waist
  6. Somehow ECing my 3? week old 168 Swoard Dual II I put a 13 inch delam in the toe side - .......and off it goes back to France for warranty - that will be at least a 3 week turn around - Ugh! 7. Beautiful! Would love'd to try it if it was longer!! Good luck with the sale!
  8. Hmm.....interesting! Sean has emailed me saying the same - The MK works great for him at 170 to 180lbs. He says my 225lbs, you will have absolutely no difficulty bending it.......... I wanna believe it, but don't want a board that "I will have no difficulty bending" for only a couple of hours before my legs explode! I also think I would also have to go custom to a...... 20.5 waist ?? Great info guys! Keep it coming!!
  9. Almost Ditto as TVR here - On my Pow board - Moss PQ60 I ride (a softer set of hard boots) Deluxe 325's + BTS Blue,Blue with Bomber TD3 Sidewinder Step In bindings at 55/50 (don't start!) with 3/3 cant disks I have a stiffer set of boots, Deluxe Track 700 for my All Mtn. work board - Swoard Dual II 168 and for my hard charging carving boards, Swoard Gen 4 175M and Coiler EC SS 177 ...............all on TD3 SW SI's with BTS Red/Blue with 3/6 cant disks.
  10. Thanks for the reply AA! So tempted.......but I'm gonna pass on this. Doc, take it and run with it -
  11. Thanks Guys......... yeah the 18w of both boards is not for me.......would have Sean/Bruce do a little fattening up to a 20w if I bought in.
  12. Interesting AB....I too had lateral arch foot pain with my attempt with Geckos........
  13. Anybody ridden the Donek MK and the Coiler Angry and got some opinions, insight, advice, for us who are still in the hunt for a turny board! Curious minds want to know!
  14. Corran, Hope you guys get some of that Noreaster headed into New England Tues/Weds/Thurs. !! There expecting over a ft. of snow at our Northern NH home in Franconia...and 2 ft. on the local mtns.....like Cannon. Were just 60 miles from the Canadian border
  15. BB....that's just Wicked looking!
  16. I'm still waiting for a PM reply from AA.................
  17. Wow Corran! Bought direct from Moss! Very cool and beautiful board! Uh....did you pick it up over there? Blue B - the Moss Wingpin has "three suggested binding settings that are meant to replicate different surf styles, making this an extremely unique board. Setting A: A traditional feel that anyone can relate to and have fun with. Setting B: A narrower stance with more torsional foot control for quick and responsive turns. Setting C: For the nose rider. With a longer tail that carries less weight, this setting is similar to riding a shortboard; surfy but torsionally responsive"
  18. Great to see Moss is making it coast to coast!! Where did you pick up the Wing Swallow? Here's my Moss quiver : AP67, Wingpin 175, PQ60 ..and a Coiler EC SS 177 for comparison of the set backs on the Moss boards. Would have pm'd ya, don't mean to hijack your thread......but can't send images via PM Peace
  19. Yikes!.......that's not very encouraging! AA is saying his board was designed for a 185+/- rider.........I was hoping my 220lbs. would be sufficient to bend it to my will! Poloturbo yours was the same length - 162 ??
  20. Ha! Lonbordin and Big Canuck, You guys are killing me......you getting a commission from AA on this or what?? I believe you guys could sell ice to a Eskimo! Thanks for the MK reality check Big C! I broke my Swoard Dual II, which was my every day work board and do need something......... different? I am going back out tomorrow on the 20cm waist Moss AP67......but the JJA is 19.3! Yikes! That's closer to a Skwal than a snowboard for me! AA where is your board located?? What edge and base angles were you running on it??
  21. Ha! Riding on the lift, that's what all the softbooters say when they notice my (Track 700) "ski boots" !!
  22. Almost exactly! Yours is much more finished though. Mine was held on with zip ties but It worked great...but I returned my Step On's or I would of made it more permanent. permanpermanent. .
  23. Hey Corran............ you did what I did.....but better! Nice mod!
