  1. Nitro....you a beast to rip a TD3 base plate in half!!! Hope it failed coming into the lift line.......not when hard charging!
  2. Hey Pow. I called it a "Secret Sauce" build from Bruce...... Bruce calls it a SS or super soft flex for my weight.
  3. Two New Tools! Yeah Me!! Coiler EC-SS (Secret Sauce) 177M 23w For hard charging carving! Blue Gloss with Gold Stripes! You know Blue/Gold is the fastest color!! Thanks Bruce!!! Swoard Dual II 168 My new, everyday work board, All ready one day on it rips and it is even better than Dual I !! Thanks Patrice!!!
  4. I am envious of the soft boot carving videos I see posted....but from what I have experienced in trying soft boot carving the equipment is a step down in performance from hard boots! ...........but for me I'm strictly a Hardon for all conditions
  5. Curious if there's a consensus on Edge and Base angles Hard Chargers are running?....... And post below with what your running if you picked other!
  6. Brand new Swoard Dual II arrived today and I took it to the local tuning maestro I trust. I was wanting a typical 1/2 tune and he says the board came from the factory with a 2 edge and he would have to grind it to get back down to a 1 degree edge !! Seems ludicrous to take away material on a brand new board !! He suggested he do a 2/2 and that I should ride it and see how it hooks up ...and that he sees Kesslers and Oxxes that come 2/2 and 2/3 from factory ?? Besides a 1/2 tune I've seen reference to doing a 1/3 tune...but never a 2/2 or 2/3 What Gives??
  7. This just pooped up in my inbox! Woe is us! http://unofficialnetworks.com/2018/02/06/oregon-ski-area-closes-its-doors-following-lackluster-snowfall-high-temps/?utm_source=Unofficial+Networks&utm_campaign=c48adf11d9-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_02_08&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_83a0f48213-c48adf11d9-1222089105&mc_cid=c48adf11d9&mc_eid=f4e0c68548
  8. No snow past 3 weeks and non in sight for the rest of the month! Ugh! Rocks and debris showing up on every trail at Northstar and that's a Vail resort....you know they move snow around if they had it! Double Ugh!! Top of Squaw is good spring conditions...but everybody and their brother are vying for the same few runs! My boards have spent more time at the tuners this season for rock rash than the last three seasons combined! Opensnow for Tahoe says if no snow by end of month this will be the Lowest Snowfall Ever On Record!!!
  9. Ok........... I missed it. What happened to "Parallel Slalom". as an event ??
  10. Hey Softbooter. no offense meant, in fact I'd say I'm more that "Pure Carve" style! It just doesn't get much positive coverage around here........ Isn't there a Pure Carve session somewhere ?????
  11. softbootsurfer.........how old's that edit? He got old school tight knees ...and makes it look good! Buell - you been to June this season? I heard not much open.
  12. Almost 30 minutes of hard and softboot carving ..............really gives you time to look for specifics and similarities like stance, splay, angles, body and hand movement, etc. A lot of the same riders and all seem to have a similar style. Quiet lower body, hands mostly infront at hip level. The better?/more aggressive riders employing more body compression. Wow...what I'd give for just One Wide Open Run Like These Guys are on!!
  13. Thanks Carvin, I appreciate your non sarcastic, non judgmental reply! I know there's a middle mark on each boot...just was wondering if there were any new tips or tricks to centering since I hadn't done this in years and there's no specific center mark on the binding. I've got it figured out and done
  14. Lonbordin .......thanks for the link to the Seanulator By plugging in the known's: 1- carve riding style, 2- hardboot specific, 3- 11.5 boot, and playing with the rear angle number until waist width comes down to my Swoards Gen. 4, EC 175's known 23.1 waist , the Seanulator calls for a 53 rear binding angle.....so my 55/50 wasn't far off ! but that's of course without any bias! fyi: Tried 60/55 and it wasn't any better! So brought it back to 55/50 Is there a tutorial for Centering Toe/Heel blocks aka: let's try No ~ bias
  15. It keeps getting touted, but where is this magic list of Board Width = Specific Angle ?? On my Swoard EC Gen 4 175 my goal is to lay it out EC style (slope and crowd permitting) on every run......but not necessarily every turn. Using ~ bias has worked for me, and I know in doing so it puts me at higher angles to avoid boot out - currently 60/55 to achieve no more than 1cm of overhang on the rear boot I have a new Coiler coming........with that board I will set it up without ~ bias and thus have lower angles.......to see the difference
  16. I'm going to stick with the ~ bias (I know that works) and go back to 55/50 (I know that works) and then micro adjust for minimal overhang. Blue B changing everything above is changing too many (don't know if it works) variables all at once for me............. Sculler......sorry for jacking your thread. I'm Out!
  17. Hey Carvin Yep I'm still ~biased on both boots....... and with the Fuego I adjusted the boot so that the toe of the rear boot was right to the edge, which equaled 60 degrees I was supposed to adjust the heel of the rear boot to the edge? Not the toe? At the original 55/50 I had little over 1 cm of overhang
  18. Hey Corey Well when I try your example/Fuego method it pushes my rear boot angle up to 60! .......and remember I was at 55/50 before all this madness started! If I stick with this 60 for no overhang then Ill be 65/60 Whats my priority? no overhang or lower angles??
  19. Hey Big M Interesting challenge but I'm only going to change one thing at a time. I have reset my bindings to 50/45 and here's what 45 looks like on the rear foot with ~bias. That's too much overhang to me.....especially for EC - What about 50/48?? 48 would put it right up to the edge. 52/48??
  20. This setup is on my pow board...so forces are lower..but it still cracked! I'm gonna ride it today to find out!
  21. BB - are you saying front foot ~ bias can be eliminated and run bias just on the rear foot??
  22. Yeah, at Snowmass. We saw it happening from the chair! Close one!
  23. Ok........moved to 50/45 but the problem I see is I'm running Gilmour Bias and my rear binding is pushed forward enough that 45 gives me overhang with my 28.5 boot I'll try to get a photo of it for it comment..........
  24. Hey SS It's nothing but groomers for carving imo! Not a snowflake in sight for the next 14 days at least Homewood is struggling to stay open coverage wise. Northstar and Heavenly have the best grooming and Northstar has probably has the most coverage. Had a blast at Northstar today but lines are out of the ropes by 10am on the weekend. I have no clue as to conditions or coverage at Sugar Bowl Leave the pow board at home is all I can tell ya!
