  1. i might take a position in southern UT at Cedar City, which looks like 40 minutes to Brian Head....... looks pretty good for carving from the website trail map Any you guys ride it and got the beta?? A good place for pow? family mellow uncrowded mtn. or tourist destination crowded?? Any other relatively close resort choices from Cedar City??
  2. Jack....are you saying that if I love my UPM BP V2 4mm lite....and I Do! ....that I'm gonna be OMG!!! with a UPM Donek or Vist plate??
  3. Wow! That just freaks me out! I'm no Engineer but surely the length of the board with and where the Plate was attached and the effect as a fulcrum (the Perfect Storm!) at 50mph contributed to.... Design Failure???
  4. It's purely a visual thing - no difference in performance - just don't like the latter model flat black top sheet I thought the shiny top sheet model was the Bomb!, and yes it made it Super Slippery without a Big Stomp Pad!
  5. I'm looking for a Turny Little Bandit and I Want On Of These SF162's!! I'm 225lbs and like a softer board. Don't need a stiff piece of lumber that I can only ride for a couple of hours before my legs give out! Been there- Done that! Mark, can the stock board handle my petite 6'2' 225lbs. ????
  6. $1440 Man! For that K Alpine Ride It's A Steal And Soooo Worth Every Penny! As another K devotee I can't say enough about my K168!
  7. Daveo - I had a 161 Demo I got from Don and I can say it's a Turny Predictable Little Bandit!! AND I'd say if I could find an unmolested carbon 2017-2018 (the shiny topsheet model) D O 161 I'd by it in a heartbeat! You seriously gotta try this board! Trust me, you won't be disappointed!!
  8. Is he saying the UPM/Allflex "inserts" made the board weaker and he loaded the nose and it snapped?? From the photo the Plate seems intact and the break is above where the Plate is attached. From his bio page the only board he has a Plate on is his Donek 185 Rev with an AF Plate......so that probably was the board. Must of been Hauling to load up that 185 - Ouch!!
  9. Ouch! Nitro so sorry to see and hear the news.... Can you explain what and how it happened........ and how UPM/Allflex Plates impacted your the outcome??
  10. You know the mileage/history from the original owner? Why you selling??
  11. What model year is this from??
  12. Wow! How'd I miss this! Dude how many days/runs you put on the SG......and what's the width and weight range??
  13. Crote and Redia That looks like Great conditions! Looks like time for a road trip!! It's only 2 hours drive for me!!! When does Bromont close for the season??
  14. This is my first plate so didn't really know any better but no issues I guess....it's still running great and still in one piece!
  15. Yep....I do. I got a BP V2 4 lite on the K168 and would like to see how the BP 5mm differs....and I want to try a Plate on my Coiler EC SS 177
  16. Wow! What a Deal!! Too bad I'm 230lbs. too fat! Hope you can sell it as a unit but I'd be interested in the UPM/BP if ya split up
  17. Man! You guys got Way Too Much Time on you hands! I too also count turns but at a much simpler application..... I only count the number of turns between towers on specific sections of a particular trail. So at a casual carving pace if get 4 turns between towers I'll start working hard to really tighten up my turns up to doubling or better the number of turns between towers......that will really increase your carving skill and get you a workout if you working for every last turn!
  18. Haven't seen or ridden the Thirst but I've got the K168 and the Thirst reviews sound too much alike to me......same tool, different technique - The K168 is a Scalpel, the Thirst is.... a Steak Knife?...they both can cut! I'm lusting after a Totally Different Ride from the K168 - Thirst SF162
  19. Ain't Nowhere Ready For It To Be Over!! Got three more weeks here in NH...then guess I'll have to drive to Jay or Sunday River to get my last fix!!
  20. Was there Today - Monday March 18th.....it was FIRM.......barely softened up around 2pm or so I'm glad I went and I had some good turns here and there...but it was alot scratchy and a little sketchy to get aggressive on....imo The conditions told me my edges were not up to the challenge so I dropped my boards off at Rodgers Ski for Josh to put his magic touch on! He said the Firm conditions had him busy with Alpine boards - he had 5 other Kessler Alpine boards currently in for a wax job and sharpening!!!
  21. Doggy Looking pretty good for a 9 year layoff! Looks like ya just need more time on the equipment to get ya Driving the board more aggressively. Looks like your on the Olympic Downhill trail under the Olympic express chair at Heavenly........that's a great trail for working out the kinks and ripping it up!
  22. Dave .....or anybody in the know I love my UPM BP v2......how's these Iron Rock's perform compared to Bomber BP or Donek Plate designs??
  23. None of the above for me also...... I think your poling the wrong subset.......really should be asking everybody But us. I agree with Scully - " you will learn to carve if you have an "immediate, intense, driving desire to learn how to carve after one observes pure carving in person or on Youtube"
