glenn Posted November 16, 2012 Report Share Posted November 16, 2012 I found this out after giving Ian the symbols...In tidying up I went back to double check on meanings, since I was aware of nuances, but not these particular ones, and found through a friend with access to interpretation that, although they represented the words, they didn't necessarily represent the message...The idea was acceptance with honor...Little did I know that that particular honor was in the vein of honoring a check :^( Anyway, now I have a resource who IS Chinese and IS fluent. She gave me the proper symbols for honoring a principle which is what will replace the current symbols...At least it didn't say "YOUR MOM!!!" or something similar! For example, a Chinese person may well read 剣道 as "knife road", but a Japanese person will instantly recognize it as "way of the sword", ie kendo, Japanese fencing. Aaron, no plate, have not tried one yet, not sure if its a good idea for me to ride one, I've heard one of rhe effects of a plate is serveriously increased speed, something I do not need, and with our Co snow being so smooth for the most part, I'm good without. And yes, those are cateks that I won at a raffle one year. My new powder/off piste/all sorts of unpredictable conditions on Mount Hood/but still carve when I want it to.... gun. Rounds out my quiver, with my Coiler VSR Mid+ 180, Tanker 192.
