  1. I live in Missoula. That's all I'm need to say...haha
  2. I bought half my Montana Snowbowl season pass in April. Its going to be a snowy and cold winter!
  3. Montana Snowbowl open until at least April 5th maybe they will push it until April 12th. Normal restrictions apply www.montanasnowbowl.com Check their snow report for the latest updates Lookout Pass, Discovery and Lost Trail are still open I believe as well.
  4. Thanks, guys! Great feedback. I was concentrating on how I have been riding the past few days and I don't regularly carve low much anymore. I ride 30 degrees on the front and 15 on the back. That's on my highbacks and a 24 cm all mountain board. I used to ride generally 63 degrees and 54 on my carving boards but nowadays I'm lowered those angles for more comfortable riding.
  5. I'll admit I don't fear a little over hang if it's going to effect my stability. What about your angles? Have you ever put your boots in your bindings and tipped the board to see how much it would take to drag? And even if it did would you even feel it or kick out your edge? Just curious is anyone paranoid this is going to happen? I get it if you are on a Skwal but I'd like to hear your thoughts.
  6. I find some great used boards from time to time. And although they are not brand new custom builds I still want to show them off to the group. Identity 160 BX carbon. I'm so stoked to ride it. One of my best ski swap finds. Custom build out of Whitefish, Montana. Thank you! I doubt anyone knew what it really was. One of the benefits of being a fanatic of boarding!
  7. https://www.donek.com/product/ryan-knapton-karving-block/ Looks like fun! Its out of my budget but I'd love to be up there during that time.
  8. My new Alpine Snowboarder cap! just showed up today. Thanks, Jack!
  9. I'll be up there to ride on Thursday and Friday of next week. Looking forward to seeing you all! Its been a while!
  10. Hi Brian, Ski Bowl is worth it. I used to ride there often before I moved to Missoula. Don't use your turn signal when pulling into the parking lot to avoid drawing attention to everyone else heading to Timberline or Meadows...haha I think its a gem. It has the best night skiing on Hood and the crowds are usually not bad. I miss it! Its more of a 45 minute drive from Gresham too. Let us know what you think of it. Id be interested to know. Ed
  11. Carving is making a comeback! I've seen and you have too the videos of soft booters carving on groomers and park features. It's not a trend but it's great to see. We all have heard it for years, "I can carve like that too!". Finally it's coming mainstream again? Circular motion of what is cool. Carving will never die!
  12. I am really sorry everybody but I wont be able to make it over to Anthony Lakes in time on Monday the 7th. I have meetings the weekend before out of town and I won't have enough drive time to get there. I have been stewing over this for the past week. Its part of the consequences for being the President of the Montana landscaping association this year. I was really looking forward to riding with you all! Ed
  13. Broken down lifts have been a trend over here too on Thursday and Friday. But all is fixed now!
  14. SVR, I still have the black Dani Kiwi Meier 200 you sold me. Just wanted to let you know. And the 02-03 white one too, Bryan I love them so much. They don't get rode as much as when I lived in Oregon unfortunately. But I have them waiting to go out at a moments notice. Hope you have a great season this year! Ed
  15. I'm interested. I've been to Anthony Lakes a few times. It's one of my favorite little areas for sure. Baker City is a great town too.
  16. That is most radical. Every day. Rain, snow or shine. And it was a pretty good start to the season there, and apparently a nice finish. That is a lot of dedication!
  17. I like that one Evan. Sweet one. you have always had good taste, man.
  18. When I graduated from college I thought I deserved a brand new board. I bought a 92' Nitro Diablo 176 with the Fritchi plate bindings. What a great board. Remember that one, Bryan? Then a few years later I sold it and then got the 178 and swapped the bindings over. I still have it and will not get rid of it. I wish I could put a bigger stance on it but it is set at 19 inches after I had the back inserts redone 2 additional inches. Got to love the boards with hardly any stance options! I have it leaning against the wall in my living room so I can reminisce on the good ol' days of the Diablo! Great thread, Bryan!
  19. yeah, it was great considering it was early Aug. It felt good to get some turns in!
  20. I feel fortunate that I don't have to unbuckle. Seem very common for skiers in the lift line to unbuckle, doesn't it?
