  1. Although, we can ride better now and the board doesn't get away from us...are we still kind of like the Ski Patrol of 85' describes us like, "smart alecs"? I'd say maybe...sometimes. http://archives.cbc.ca/sports/exploits/topics/1727-11917/
  2. you are making me drool, Buell! Maybe I should get my ass back to my roots in OR?
  3. How many snowboarders even know who Jasey Jay is? That is unfortunate. Carving will always be there for people like us. Thanks for all that have kept it alive! Its us who will have to be the ones who drive it to the next level and the future. We need to be great spokespeople for this level of snowboarding and be good role models like Shawn White or it will die. Fast downhill racing, as in alpine skiing (as least a Super-G ) would help bring attention to our area of the sport. Far too many people have lost touch with racing and now only see BX in the media. I'm up for ideas before I give up and buy a Skate Banana board. It really shows when you look at the Olympic coverage of the PGS. But we will never let it die. our custom boards are far too awesome.
  4. Montana Snowbowl closes next weekend on 4/4. but i plan on making back to Timberline this Summer for a few days. Anyone want to meet up. We can stay in Govy? we better make plans soon.
  5. Bryan was the guy bombing down the hill on the 210 cm Hexcel Honeycombs in this vid. I love the part where the kid is saying that when the board comes off it only gets away 3 ft. Those were fun times!
  6. I'm glad you guys like it. I started riding in 84' and this really brings back memories. Timberline was the most open to us riding. Ski Bowl and Mt. Hood Meadows not so much. But look at where it all went after the high back bindings were improved. actually the whole board design. It is a keeper.
  7. Funny stuff from back when they were very skeptical on letting us on the slopes. It was desparate times. We had to break free of the ski poles. We just had to! http://archives.cbc.ca/sports/exploits/topics/1727-11917/ You are going to love it!
  8. As you all know, you "are all a bunch of smart allecks" My good friend, Bob Lee sent me this. so all the credit goes to him. I love it! http://archives.cbc.ca/sports/exploits/topics/1727-11917/ Enjoy! I even saw some kids carrying their boards with vintage plate bindings. So this is also so much more relevant. Look for them toward the end.
  9. Great time! Awesome to ride again with my pals! I had so much fun! Thanks everyone for showing up! I'll stay in touch!
  10. Hey, thanks Don. I'll check that out. See you over there. I'm looking forward to riding with you again. Its been a couple of years.
  11. I'm thinking now about just rolling into town and finding something cheap. Hows everything going with everyone elses lodging. Where you all staying at? I won't try to encroach in on your floor space.
  12. Thanks for that info Randy. I would really prefer to stay in the bigger room and share the cost. That one with the two beds and the murphy bed would be ideal. If anyone wants to commit to getting it, lets make the plans soon at the Riverhouse. I'm going to call the Sugarloaf and get a room for myself by this time tomorrow. I need a secure place to sleep other than the campground down in Tumalo.;) I would love to pay no more than 50 bucks a night. Lets get that big one at the Riverhouse and cut the cost for us all??!
  13. Yeah, skiing is cool again. And depends where you are and and the conditions now for me. I really thought for years that skiing was just for fat kids. But its back for many snowboarders....tele or not.
  14. Sounds good, Bryan. I can smell Chan's Chinese Food too. I'm looking into a few options with the lodging. I really want to get a place with big jacuzzi. So far my research has led to The Sugarloaf $68.20 and the Entrada Lodge $89.00 up on Century Dr. they have the big jaccuzzi. But if we could get three in the room that would really cut back on the price too. I'm scheduling to be accomadations from Wed. night through Sun. night. 5 nights total. We can work out when you all can make it too. and it can be a room for anyone with last minute plans too. I have 2 cots we can set up for people to crash on. Heres my verizon work number. 406-241-7002 cell. 406-207-9004
  15. Anyone interested in sharing a room together in a cheaper rate motel. The Sugarloaf sounds good. I need to cut back on expenses were I can for this trip. Call me if you would like so we could discus the options. I'd like to get a reservation soon. Thanks, Ed 406-207-9004
  16. Living in Missoula now so I'm out of the loop. I've checked the Bachelor website for deals. Looks like the 3-5 day pass is reasonable. And I've checked craigslist for tickets, etc. Anyone have any ideas or heard about any fantastic lift ticket deals while we are over there? Maybe that include lodging too? I'll keep looking. Thank you, Ed
  17. Im still planning on being there. Lodging? I'll car camp if I have to. I just need a warm floor to sleep on actually. I get cold easy.
  18. I thought about what I wrote and I was being a little sarcastic. Those last two Olympic finals that Wescott were in were so close at the end, reduced air drag on the pants could actually make a difference. Speed suits may be a little overkill for SBX. Theres got to be some middle ground there and not make the pants and top too baggy.
  19. that was a cool video. We are such a finicky bunch, arn't we? Our routines our seriously, ridiculous. Oh, and if the conditions change.....go grab another board. we love to ride.
  20. I loved the article. Nate is a bit like that. Obviously, baggy or tight pants will not win someone a SBX. Thank you, Rob.
  21. I haven't found out what kind of board Nate rides either. I've been asking my girlfriend's kids. I haven't seen any boards that Uncle Nate has kicked down to them. All the boards I've seen Nate ride have no brand logos on them. Just his sponsor stickers, like Monster, etc. My girlfriend's daughter is riding a Lib Tech. I'll find out next week when I see the kids and let you know. I've been trying to research this myself for over a year.
  22. What a great race! Nate is my girlfriend's brother in law so we we consistantely keep up on his racing. Its too bad he didn't get an Olympic medal this time. And what a great performance from Wescott! That was a great to watch. Now hopefully the women can pull it off too.
  23. I use them on my freeride boards. Angle them the same with our binding angles. As in picture 2. They raise up my bindings and give me that much more carving leverage. I've been happy with them for years.
  24. Its tough when your local mt. pub has the best food, soup and pizza on the planet. Seriously. Its not your typical ski lodge cafateria here at Snowbowl. You must come and visit me!
