  1. Its got the goods covered on that side of the mountain for sure. I'm really going to miss the bottlenecked runs and the "should have been here yesterday" stories of MHM. And the hurry up and wait for the patrol to okay the opening into Lower Heather. Then loop back to find it destroyed already in 30 min. double
  2. Yes, Jim lots of deals. I hope the crowds are not too heavy. The one deal that hurts is 10-day mini Alpine pass at Bachelor at $449. And the Express pass is $40 . And it still debits your account $51 per day if you're lucky. Holidays are $57 (12/16-1/1) (1/13-1/15) (2/17-2/19) Thats a savings of $1 per day. but you don't need to go to the lift shack for a ticket. nice. They could charge me more too. I'd still keep showing up. Theres always Nordic Skiing too. That pass is $259 for the trails near Bachelor. Oh, Sorry. Lets talk more about Ski Bowl and Timberline. Yeah!!
  3. Yeah, I faintly recall that board. But never seen one on the slopes. Damn fine looking board too.
  4. The word will get out soon enough. What a sweet deal! http://www.mthoodfusionpass.com/ I might need a partner next month too, my current one is getting a little flakey on me and might move to Seattle. El Nino/El Scheemo I'm always optimistic for a stellar snow year! Ed
  5. No, I've never seen or heard of the K2 Skinny board. I'm curious to hear more about it. 1/400? Definitely you may have something rare. I want to see what the other guys say too. I would guess that I've seen most models of early K2 boards. We would love to see some pictures. Thanks, Ed
  6. Gosh, Mike! I didn't expect you to go this soon... There was like a one-day window and you went for it! I was thinking about it after I watched the Fri. nite news. And I was watching and calling for morning weather updates. I'm glad that you made it. See you later! Ed
  7. I'll do my best to be there for a few turns, Mike. Not sure what board I would chose to ride and maybe scatch up. hmm, we'll see what I come up with.
  8. Hi Mike - How about a slightly used M-series Mercedes. ML 320 or ML 350? or a nice Baja bug with a roof box and a tricked-out motor? I could see you driving both. Ed
  9. Car shuttle rides or hitch-hiking is the key to a better session, for sure. I'm on the search for perfect blacktop country roads now. With a nice wide spot to park at the top of the hill, of course. I really want to try one of those CarvStik boards too.
  10. Lee- Cal Skate is still there, dude! That shop is legendary and was one of the very first shops to carry snowboards. Cal Skate and Cleanline surf shop in Seaside. http://www.calsk8.com/main/ Take it easy. And work on your tan, bro. Ed
  11. So what are you guys using to carry or tow your boards back up to the top of the hill? Anything out of the ordinary? Tow straps? Backpacks? Whats working for you? Me? I'm just carrying my Carveboard under my arm or rolling it on 2 wheels to take off some weight. I had a nice session earlier today in the nearby neighborhood. I'm tired as hell after walking up the hill again and again. Ed
  12. I've been itching to get up there too!!! I'll be in the land of recreation next weekend (Bend) I'll give you a call Mike! Another Donek in the family? Jeezus!! Ed
  13. Yeah! How cool is the dude doing a grab in a pair of Salomon rear-entry ski boots? And then land it on that Kemper. wow
  14. I talked to the ex-NW rep. here in Portland a few weeks ago. He said that the older models from a year ago (or before) are far better than now. And he has dropped representation and would'nt do business with the company anymore. The owner's are not snowboarders and have cut costs and quality to save $$$ and earn more profits. Shipping and communication were terrible last year. Its a Swedish company, right? I would have expected better since their bikini team is pretty hot.
  15. Good topic! I would like to develop some sort of syringes that inject sulfuric acid into the culprit's board. Then about 45 seconds later the acid eats away the perp's board while they are on the lift. Well, really just the tip. Its one idea that I had.
  16. Someone is really asking for a kick in the nards skiing with those monsters.
  17. Hi Guys - I will be up there on Sunday for sure. One day doesn't seem like enough to hold me over. Lets hope the Summer crowd doesn't bother us too much. It is wonderful "people watching" in the lift line. I'm sure we will make the best of it. See you then. I will be looking out for you. And will be on radio channel 13/20. Ed
  18. Its about time to go riding again soon, isn't it? Sat. and Sun. maybe? Whoa, wait that could cost me $80 something bucks plus gas! Oh, screw it anyway! Ok, now we got that conversation out of the way. Lets talk. Anyone really up for it? Serious inquiries only, please. That goes for any weekend in June. Maybe even early July? Sincerely, Ed
  19. Hi Dan, I recommend you find a silver saucer and spray it with Clark Griswold's cooking spray. Its a fast ride, man! Get the Tanker. Longer the better. Widen your stance and lower the angles just a bit. One of my best boards for slush (back in the day) was a K2 gyrator 166. Okay, too much info there. sorry. Ed
  20. Hi Bert! We had a great time riding together. I'm glad you made it down here. And conditions were excellent too, considering its April. The conditions were wonderful again for carving. I hope you had a good excuse if you missed out today. Getting an oil change doesn't count. Ed
  21. Bert - I'm glad you're making the short journey. Conditions have been good too. I've taken some days off and I will be riding at Meadows. Or Timberline if the weather clears on the upper mountain. Hope to see you. Ed
  22. I will be bringing an spare Rossi 190 world cup for anyone to ride. Any takers? I can see the squabbling now. no, I want to ride it! anyhow, it will be available. See you Fri. morning! Ed
  23. The noses on the Schoch brothers' boards were very flat and broad looking. Did anyone else notice that too? Someone would stuff the nose off the race course on those.
  24. 84' Backhill shipped from the factory $110.
  25. Yes, I own one and ride it often. I have Burton race plates on it. It is softer than the Rossi 190 too. I find it a great all-around board. It rides shallow powder and corn well too. It has okay edge hold, but not excellent. Overall its holding up well for me. It will probably get lots more snowtime this year.
