  1. yea, nice find! I'd say that is about a 92'-93'. Nice all-around fun board. Never rode that exact model. Bryan very well may have seen one too. I'll bet it turns nice and easy. Probably a little on the soft side, right? And, narrow stance to what we are more used to today, maybe?
  2. I have to call in tomorrow and leave a "message" for my fat-headed manager. "Hey, guys! we're working on Friday!" He is on to my sick calls so this one will involve caring for my 99 year old Grandma. My regular schedule is Mon.-Thurs. (4*10's) There will be no turning back tomorrow. By the time I'm supposed to clock-in, I'll be half-way to Bachelor. It kills my conscience until I'm on the road to the mountain. I need to be my own boss, obviously.
  3. I'm heading over to Bachelor for Fri. and Sat. Oh, yes. I do love riding in crowds. Thanks for asking.
  4. I agree Bordy. long but awesome words. Chris Karol taught us to "not pat the dog", and I'm sticking to it.
  5. I'm another Sport - Tube user. And using clicker bindings on my freerides saves the much needed room for other stuff. No high backs with straps for me anymore.
  6. Yea, Yea, keep rubbing it in! Good for you guys! Live it up while it lasts! You'd better call in sick on Monday!
  7. early 90's. I had a pair on a Sims alpine.
  8. Wouldn't it be cool to build a custom 200cm. asym. freecarve board. Maybe bigger, like 210cm. Massive archs. Tinkler Designs? Oh, just dreaming. Remember Chris Roach in Snowboarder in Excile? He rode a Santa Cruz with asym. cut nose and tail. That was 1990. And the new freerides from Capita have "notched-out" twin-tips. yea, I've had two Diablos also.
  9. I would keep going to Bachelor. The extra 2 hour drive would be worth it.
  10. I went up today and it was much better than Meadow yesterday. Palmer had a wide groomed run in the middle of the upper field. It was so nice to ride with out the crowd and just rip. I recommend you bros from WA make a quick roadtrip to calm your nerves. The Rossi world cup has been repaired and is now my new rock board. The Option 165 alpine made an appearance as well. Mike T.- you'll see for yourself on Thurs. but I was happy with the snowpack under the conditions I had at Meadows on Sun. I'm heading back up there on Fri. AM. Hope to see you all - Ed
  11. Very marginal coverage today. I left the Rossi in the truck since the crowd was a zoo. Lift lines were good. I heard today is the last day of Shooting Star and maybe Mt. Hood Express. I'm heading up to Timberline tomorrow.
  12. Sound good, Jason. I'll see you tomorrow. thanks for the reply.
  13. Most importantly, "Hows the coverage?" I am bringing the Rossi that I trashed and repaired too. I'm still riding Monday too if anyone is interested.
  14. so how was it today? And go ahead and vent on us your feelings concerning.... 1. High School ski racers 2. High School racer's parents 3. All the Race Officials 4. Ski Bus participants 5. Group Family bonding in the middle of the run. 6. Ski Instructing for 12 on your favorite run. 7. And $11.00 chilli burgers I'm heading up tomorrow for the leftovers.
  15. um, cannabis is good for back pain. And maybe you could get a "legal" prescription. sorry to open up that can of worms.
  16. So, no one is up for Sunday? maybe you'll change your minds. Come'on I'll buy ya a cup of coffee? Greg is a great guy - D-Sub- I'm going to try to repair that damaged Rossi this afternoon. If it doesn't come out well I could find something to do with that board. Imagine the slopetool we could build ? Like mount a patio chair on it.
  17. I ride Burton race plates also. Never broke any, except that time I launched a cliff and ate it. Last year, at the Grand Prix PGS at Bachelor, I asked a few racers why they don't ride TDs. Most answers were they were too stiff. and with the stiffest boots ever they like the slight flex of the Burtons. Plus the cost was an issue for the TDs. I recall most all had toe clips, not many step-ins.
  18. Hi guys - I'm heading up to Meadows on Sun. in case anyone wants to hook up, I'll be over at Shooting Star in the early morning. I know, I know we need snow. I'll be on 2-way radio # 1320. My wife is having a baby shower at our house that day so I really need to stretch out my day too. lol I'm also riding on Mon. maybe T-line? If anyone is interested. It really sucks we still have to ride the "rock boards" at Hood. sorry, I brought it up Think Snow - Ed
  19. Thats a great board. I used to ride the MM 170. Hawaiian Koa and Birds-eye Maple topsheet. It was my all-around board for about 2-3 seasons. It carved nice and worked well in the pow. And its a little stiffer for an all-mountain board which worked well for me. And I do remember an alpine/free carve in a 165 that they made around 99'. maybe even a 155 cm. too.
  20. Concerning the game show questions - Who developed the 4 hole pattern? Rad-Air? not Gnu. Are they both claiming it? Please let me know if you guys have heard the same.:)
  21. For me its not how many beers. lol cough- cough
  22. Sorry, I must boast a bit here. I was riding with Tinkler on Fri. at Mt. Hood Meadows and we took a break to check out a board he had made for Ryan MacDonald. Somewhat similar to Dougs without the split and wider at the waist (21.5). Very impressive. Tinkler is definitely got it going on. The word is getting out and I hope big success for Mike. We had a great day of riding too.
  23. Dude, thats the wackiest "Fruitbooter" I've ever seen! And yes, its way off topic. lol
  24. Yea, bro, its very marginal at best on Hood. I've only rode 12 days so far. And luckily my boards have only suffered minor injury by rocks. I crashed and landed on a rock one time. That really hurt like hell too. But I'm optimistic that we will receive more snow soon. But as we near March I'm worried. Hindsight is 20/20, and I wished I was at SES, Utah or Tahoe. oh, and Mammoth too. This week I'm getting ready to ride more since some of my moving and work resposibilities or kind of slowing down. You locals will start seeing me around again soon. I can't wait.
  25. My hard boots are AT Raichle Concordia. And although I've used them for snowboarding since 92' ( I'm on my second pair ) last year I started to use them for skiing too. The new sidecuts tempted me and now I ski on the Elan SCX RP 183 cm. The best thing is switching boards without switching boots. I hope to get the Garmont Adrelin AT next year. Those are the sweetest AT boot out there.
