  1. Feels great to me too, Dan! Yesterday, I worked outside all day long in the rain. Loving it! And the freezing level is dropping. yeah!
  2. At the end of last season, Thedo's name came up. I met him in 90' or 91' up at Mt. Hood during the Summer. He and I rode the chair together and ended up hanging out for the rest of the day. I haven't kept up on the riders in the World Cup over the years, obviously. I always wondered what he went on to become. He was riding for Nitro then. I would guess he is a great coach from my experiences. And that afternoon he introduced me to Mark Fawcett and we all watched the Flintstones together at the Cross M house in Hood River. I was pretty stoked And sweet pictures in your gallery too!
  3. Hi Dan, yea! The video looks great. Is that a little Wed. pm session that goes on up at Mt. Tabor every week? See you on the hills- Talk to you soon Ed
  4. Yea, I could buy some from U12. But I'll bet one of you guys have a slightly used set around now. Didn't you all go to step-ins anyway? Thanks a lot - Snow-pro s okay, Wombats? no thanks Ed
  5. I have always been a fan of the Flexon line too. And was also stoked to see Diabello making them again too. I didn't think anyone else would give a damn. I was wrong. Another reason I keep logging in.
  6. I was up around Government Camp and the Mt. Hood area today mountain biking and the coverage is somewhat slim. The riding up on the top half of Palmer looks fine. And downloading the Magic Mile chair is recommended. The bottom half of the Palmer chair is quite possibly rocky. There is not much snow under the chair on the Magic Mile. Mountain biking was excellent. No major crashes. yea!
  7. I might be persuaded to go up on the 17th. It would be nice to get in a few turns. Then maybe go for a little single track ride in the afternoon. I'll really have to see if I feel like spending the money. But keep me in mind if it works out, Nic. See you later - Ed
  8. yea, we received 1 inch of rain in 20 min. The storm just rolled through as I was driving home from work. And typically I drive on the road where the mudslide happened too. The historic town of Troutdale had a flash flood of sorts plus I-84 flooded where the water settled. TV helis flying all over. it was kinda cool. I met up with the kids up there again. I hope they log on and say how the camp and coaching was. They are a bunch of cool younger rippers, for sure.
  9. On a more positive note, if any of you like treeriding, go with a friend, into the woods on Northwest Territory. That is the area where the woman was lost. Its really good. Oh, and don't tell anyone else please.
  10. Its sad its ending soon. Now we can start getting caught up on the popular Summer culture like everyone else. We have to rely on the more dangerous type of crashing sports like skateboarding and surfing. bad wipeouts can happen quick. ouch! but what the heck. Last Fri. I went snowboarding then was down soaking in the river in the afternoon. thats living it up for me. simple pleasures.
  11. Bryan - last day on my pass is Sun. June 5th. I hope to see some more riders up there soon. The snow is dwindling fast. I just enjoy seeing young people in hard boots. And I mean no disrespect to Michael Jackson. And there is a chance that I am going to have to work on Fri. now. I might have to make up another story. damn! But there is still Sat. and Sun. Ed
  12. I met some young dudes and gals up carving today on Palmer! I talked to a couple of young riders and they were all in high school. They were from near South Lake Tahoe. Placerville? maybe near Kirkwood? The one young guy said they were from Eldorado High? Please correct my info if I got anything wrong. Good praise must go out to the Tahoe area to put out such fine kids too. There is definitely a difference in attitude, noise level and dress than the majority of the posse of boarders up there who are heading for the park. I wish we had more interest in snowboard racing around the OR and WA area. Maybe I should look into that. Anyhow it was very cool to see many young hardbooters together. Very inspiring. And their coach was Nick Colavito. very cool dude with a great reputation. I didn't get a chance to actually ride with them much since they were in a private lane. la tee da! lol Do you other members know any of these kids? I hope to go up again and maybe see them on Fri. Ed
  13. Hi guys - I've been up the last few days. Its been good. Hopefully they will groom lots for you. The weather warmed up yesterday then froze last night, so the off-piste wasn't very good today. The groomed runs are fine. The bottom 200-300 feet on the Mile is getting sketchy. Look out for rocks. I think we will finish up the winter/spring season with okay coverage. See you later - Ed you guys should have seen the cute girl I gave a ride down to Govy today. :p
  14. yea, hi - I'll pipe in and say yes, you do have a good board there. Santa Cruz has a great reputation and that board is pretty good all around. Back when boardercross was getting started the Santa Cruz team used to win lots. And those bindings are decent too.:) I'd say the board is from '97 approx. There is probably someone on Bomber that knows every detail about your board. somewhere.
  15. I'm so happy to be the "one and only Oldsnowboards.com sponsored rider" at least for now hey, I think I took that picture too!~ :D
  16. I think the other guy is a very young Kris Jamison. Only a guess, though. Second guess, Jeff Davis.
  17. That board looks like a lot of fun! Nice quiver of boards too, pokkis. Damn, this site kicks ass!

    Slush

This is the best wax I've used overall. I was shoulder tapped by this guy and he ask me to try the wax. Then I contacted him and bought more. He describes it as controlling the "herky jerkeys" in the slush. Its not a miracle wax but it does work okay in those soft conditions. And it stays on for most of the day. Bringing two waxed boards is my habit. Its a two part process of rubbing on the graphite and melting in the violet. Give it a try. Heres his info: Barney Mystery Wax John Haddock 63406 Saddleback Pace Bend, OR 97701 mhadock@coinet.com 541-389-7220 for $25.00 I got plenty that will last me into next season.

    N00B Here!

Howdy, Brad! Welcome! I'm a big fan of the Clicker boots since the have all those cool accessories for the backcountry. Its time for Snowdome soon.
  20. Yes, the Hawthorne Cafe is still there. That whole area is still quite popular for great restraunts. I'd have to say Wildwood on NW21st & Overton is still a great place for dinner. Great fine cuisine using local products from Oregon and nearby. Now you've got me thinking about dinner instead of snowboarding. Damn you!

    MHES?

Hi guys and hopefully gals too! I'll be up there on Sat. and Sun.. I'll probably be in the day lodge in the morning to pick up my ticket and depending on the weather, I could be hanging out and seeing who shows up. My two way radio will be tuned to 13/20 if anyone wants to give me a call. I hope there is a decent turnout. The weather prediction looks good for the weekend. Who else is planning on riding? so I can be sure to make enough peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwiches.;) Ed
  24. Paul- yes, I rode the World Cup at Bachelor, Meadows and Timberline many days this year. And I really do like the way it rides. Like I was saying, I even bought a back up that is mint. Theres better boards out there, but for the price I couldn't pass it up.
  25. My quiver did change this year. I added a newer Tanker 200 to the mix. Traded a 192 Tanker for a Rossi 190 world cup. And then bought another Rossi 190 as a back up. With the poor snowpack on Hood this season, I hardly rode some boards at all. My Option freecarve 165 got a lot of early season play with the narrow grooming. And now the MLY 183 is getting lots more snowtime than I had figured. Although Timberline is still open, and my pass is good until 6/5, I'm already looking forward to next year. I'm hopeless.
