Harmless
Wow! That is a really nice "Step Up". You are going to love that REV!!! Chevy to Lambo kinda change. Enjoy!Have you ridden anything like the REV?? It may be a bit of an adjustment at first. FYI, stick with it. I took a demo ride for about 2 hours on a SG 185 pro t, (is what i think its called). It turned so easy. Edge hold felt amazing compared to the renn. Then while i raced, the renn would only do things at speed and only wanted to go fast. Anything slow on that was just a workout bending the board to get it to turn. On the SG side of things, it did everything soft and nice, was such a thrill to ride. The only thing i think ill miss from the renn is the high flying tail while free carving, or the POP coming out of each carve. To bad Sean hasnt shipped the a"f" plate yet, other wise my REV would feel complete.

willem
unfortunately not entirely new but in good condition is this softboot setup I bought recently: a Sims Daytona 172 from Ebay and a pair of F2 intec boots & bindings I managed to buy second hand, for some reason F2 stopped manufacturing these great boots. excited to find out what this ride is like... Mr.E
Getting ready for the season... Good day, yesterday. How often do you get jump started in a coffee shop parking lot by an Olympic medalist?

www.oldsnowboards.com
Getting ready for the season... Good day, yesterday. How often do you get jump started in a coffee shop parking lot by an Olympic medalist? So Eric, were you in CA or JJ in Eugene? Let's hear the rest of the story!! Mr.E
He was training and testing with his team up at Hood. I emailed him a bit before the trip tire kicking, and we got to talking about the boards. As luck would have it, I was heading north for some work when he had some time to kill after dropping team mates at the airport. We met up in PDX, talked for about 3 hours, and I left with a 163 that falls between the Cypress and the Whistler (but with a slightly different lay up). We both build high end niche sporting equipment- it was really fun to geek out not only on the boards, but the business side of things. The board looks sweet- his personal/ test rigs look swell, too. It will be interesting to see where his board shape/ plate development go in the next few years. Real nice guy, and very excited about what he's doing. After about 2 hours we both though we were done, and I got in the truck. After another hour of chatting (I got out of the truck) with the lights on I ended up getting a WC winning jump start. What a goofball. I'm stoked- the new stuff seems to jive with what I've been wanting in a shorter SL/ freeride stick. Can't wait for snow! Hans
@ Eric, did you already become the prototype board/plate interface combo with the new stainless steel slider set-up?
Mr.E
Jasey showed me several iterations of plate, including a version of the stainless hardware. It was fun to discuss the development and to look at the subtle (and no so subtle) changes he's playing with in shape and construction. I picked up the bare board, but hope to add a plate later in the season. I liked his system approach (two parts made to work together). For a recreational rider the stainless hardware seemed to make the most sense- especially since I'm used to heavy set ups anyway.

av_dumitrascu
Guys!...and girls, also, I have noticed a couple of girl-carvers here ;) I just wanted to express my excitement for just receiving the new boards from Bruce! almost 3 moths after my order, and right near the first snow, look what I got: Coiler Softy 168, custom made and special top-sheet (not my request, just Bruce was so kind to do it), that I have mounted with the Bomber Plates and 2013 Nidecker Act Carbon bindings will be the power-transmission, and Coiler Nirvana 176, with TD3 bindings, that will be demo`ed around here, on the Romanian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian and Austrian slopes. yeah, baby!!! www.oldsnowboards.com
Something about that photo is giving me a "D-Sub" flashback. I sure hope Dave is doing well, where ever he finds himself. We should have some sort of "Dave Day" where we re-visit some of our favorite memories. So your boards are still in Bruce's shop?? :) Edited October 23, 2012 by www.oldsnowboards.com
