Scorpio
Scorpio - check out my profile for a relatively recent T-hawk. Given your location, you might be able to see it in person... Any chance you get your boards tuned at Lombardi sports on Polk st. in SF? I remember bringing my Thawk in there for a quick sharpening and seeing some Volant decks on the rack. This was a while back though.

I remember bringing my Thawk in there for a quick sharpening and seeing some Volant decks on the rack. This was a while back though. I sure have used Lombardi. I have not been on the Volant I have that can be ridden in quite a while, but that might have been it (if it was some time back), although my Volants have no names/labels/decals on them. They also tuned my Virus Berserker metal top (but that of course looks a bit different). Let me know if you want to take the T-Hawk for a spin some time. NORM: That set up is sick! Wow. You're making me want to take the protective coating off of my NSR.
CarvingScooby
This is my first post on BOL, so first of all I want to say a short Hello to everyone on this site. Here is my newest toy for the rest of the season. VSR 173x20 sidecut 12/15/14 WELCOME...to crazy fun carving world. Thanks for sharing the awesome board. Do you mind sharing the board nose & tail width. What's stiffness is the board made for...(lbs or kg) Cheers RT
Peti
@WinterGold: Thanks, the ride looks not only elegant, but is also very elegant to ride @xy9ine: square nose rocks! @CarvingScooby: I measured tail and nose: nose: approx 25,5 cm waist: 20,1 cm tail: approx 23,5 cm Bruce built the board for my lightweight 70 kg (155 lbs) Cheers
Corey
Coiler NSR 182 with some minor tweaks: - '2011' rounded nose as square noses just bug me - Square tail so I could get a little more effective edge out of the same length (yes, I'm aware of the irony of this statement after the previous one :p) - UPM inserts - Extra 4x4 inserts so I could get plate axles further apart, if I want to use a 4x4 plate As usual for all boards I've seen from Bruce, it's freaking perfect. Simple and elegant in the fine details. I can't wait to get it on the snow! Specs: 182cm long, 20cm waist, 13.7/17m sidecut, built for 210 lb rider, white 'ghost' topsheet. WinterGold
That is a very sweet ride! I like the ghost topsheet very much. It reminds me a bit of my Apex topsheet. Nice ! And I also like your changes (rounder nose, square tail)!

Corey
Hmm, looks better without bindings. Pretty hard to ride though! Big nose decamber and suprisingly big tail decamber
scrutton
Hmm, looks better without bindings. Pretty hard to ride though! Oh I get it.... Very nice looking board. Is it the same style as that black asym core board that was at SES (think that was a similarly sized NSR)?
Corey
Is it the same style as that black asym core board that was at SES (think that was a similarly sized NSR)? The black one at SES was an asym core 180 VSR with a tighter sidecut than this one. The asym core didn't suit my riding style. I'm sure I could adapt to it but decided to stay with the classic symmetric core. I rode an NSR in January in Alberta and fell in love with it. You've got to be the boss; no laid-back cruising with one of these or you find yourself rocketing down the fall-line! But it rewards your efforts very nicely too. WinterGold
Pokkis, that is a hell of a setup ! Have you already used it?

Corey
So, just looking at coiler.com, was the black one a VSR Freecarve? Yes, I believe so, with the 'M+' sidecut. Bruce likes to put some special sauce in every board, I'm sure there were adjustments to better suit the asym core. I just didn't like how soft the nose felt on heelside turns. It felt good on toesides.
tpalka
My new powder board -- the "Slack Rocket X1"! Setup with softies for now, but I might end up riding it noboard-style, now I just need to wait for the next powder dump.

pokkis
Wud you mind share the specs? What's the weigh deck made for? Share your ride exp, stiff etc. Thanks RT It is Coiler NSR+ with asymmetric core built for 80+ kg flegmatic-carver. Waist is 21cm and length is 177, radius 14-21-17 (hopefully i remembered them correctly). Great board, specially now with BBP :) only thing is that it keeps hellowa speed on, so on more narrow and steeper slopes it requires costant attention, but it is real joy to ride between poles, sometimes i dont understand how i can make it turn when coming late in bad position to gate but it just turns and keeps good speed. Love this board
