  1. Virus ASYM 3D asymetrical raceboard This one seems to have setback, making it difficult to sym, so, are all the asyms you speak of built with zero setback?
  2. Methinks you mean washer vs dish washer, just like hats, dishwasher.
  3. I had a set for 5 years, the sipes are nice, you can hear your contact, if you can't you have none;) Moved to studded nokians, excellent, it's not getting going, it's stopping.
  4. Err, setup away from pressure.... More forward tilt, either underfoot or forward tilt with the boots. My conformable liners (UPZ's) extend higher than stock liners, not to mention the custom foamed liner. Have a hard liner tongue and are like slippers, with no heel slip or packing out.
  5. So, your bindings won't adapt to the older pattern and your going to cut a board with 4x4 mounting holes and mount it to your old pattern board, great, just place it over your board(mark the mounting holes or use some material that will transfer to the bottom of the new "riser") "use one piece, not two", drill through the new "riser", get the correct size screws, put something between the two if you must, by why bother, screw the new "riser" down and voila, you can now use your board. Pity no adapter is available. Why a foam core, any 4x4 "patterned" board will do, and cutting one to wide down won't hurt
  6. As the op points out use a convection oven, Also, if you wrap the shell in a towel and hold the opening over boiling water, using the steam to heat the shell, (wear gloves) then with the shell hot and the liner cooked in a convention oven, put them on, an even better fit, heating the shell even after the liner is fitted properly will also,,,, make a better fit.

Well, thank god rocker showed up in snowboards in the mid 80's, and then 20 years later it showed up in skis, taking the average 200cm ski with an effective edge of 160cm and changing that effective edge to 185cm is a game changer as it is with a snowboard. It was to cool when Kessler offered a product with rocker and a hammerhead;)
  8. 6'th year with conformables from surefoot at killington(surefoot is national), orthotics are nesessary. It's a custom foam liner, never ever any heel slip, not real warm, hand heaters over the liner under the shells (toes) and they are outstanding.
  9. If you haven't tried a 185 kessler....stable, large turn radius But..yer bored with the two boards I want, I think it might be time for a no board;) I have a 202 virus, not offering it, just saying, wow there's no replacement for displacement(it's 16.1wide)
  10. Deluxe are a high foot volume boot, err, especially a high calf volume boot, bomber sells head boots, no large calves required, (same for upz), do the shell test for length, bare foot into empty shell, toes to the front, only one finger should fit behind the heel, if the shells are to large, you can only fix the symptom, but the next pair will be the right size;)
  11. Better sit down;) Rob rides a noboard (short, no bindings) now that's funny(not rob, the fact he snuck in the noboard) I like to wait till the chair puts me on my feet, all others are gone and it's easy to step-in and ride away. Vt claims a state law says no clicking in, okemo enforces, sometimes stratton won't let you on a lift with a backpack, including camelback.

I agree, donek is referring to rocker or reverse camber. When you bend a board or ski you are "de'ing" the camber.
  13. Gosh, no edit, my nastar on board is 7, what's yours?
  14. ;) Boards under 16.1 mm at the waist are illegal.......because they are so much faster in a course, I bet nobody ever rode one with low 50 angles. Don't fall into lock-step, try every combination on your own, whatever you have the best balance with is a good start.
  15. Weren't they burton race plates, should be able to figure out the possibilities if you think about the bindings, err, bomber's lift up to 6 degrees in increments of 2, F2's again in increments of 2 go up as high as you want, both have variable canting, burtons had the vari plate 0-8 degrees, did they also have shims for some binders?
  16. http://www.skimd.com/ When I get a "virgin" I have it shipped to Mike, he structures it, set's the edges and waxes it, and recommends Rays way wax wizzard, no iron, once you have the "best" structure and perfect edges, it takes just a few minutes to polish with stones, rub the wax on and wizzard it in, your stock Coiler is a great start, getting it ground and having the edges set by whomever (skimd is the best, but any island in a storm) is a good way to go. Having a hand held edger, it's adjustable, holds files and stones is a good investment, 3degree edges don't happen by eye.
  17. OK, I don't like what happens on an ipad, now it happens on a pc running windows 10, when I sigh out I want to stay out, this is a severe flaw, anyone could come upon any computer(of mine, ours, yours or theirs) and be logged into bomber, duhhh
  18. Look at the picture in the link you posted for the titanflex, now look again, it has the 1cm riser with the foam pads, which makes it the titanflex, not the intec ti, and it acts similar to the sidewinder, but has more setup options. The intec rs doesn't have the foam bumpers.
  19. Not sure if the base is titanal, but the round piece it sets on is hard plastic, the pads under the front and rear are foam and flex, the center piece that holds the binding to the board is three or four time thicker then the regular bindings piece and beefy and heavy, and to repeat, they are as heavy as sidewinders but offer unlimited(somewhat) canting options and lift (4-6-8-10 degrees, just stack the shims)
  20. Why don't you put the bindings on the board and try the board on inside on a carpet, getting the bindings set up comfortably will be half the job;) Well, it's a start and you'll have questions, once you can get it on snow, hours will help.

  22. Google "vat refunds in the us", then follow the procedure, the merchant has to comply, it can't be their first sale to the US, 24%? is well worth crossing the T's and dotting the I's.
  23. I see I can't edit that post... I am familiar with sliding a road bicycle, at speed, in the rain, often, to avoid solid objects. Don't mt bike but am very used to sliding a horse tru tight spaces at speed also;)
  24. Ah, I feel you. Started carving skis after reading Warren Witherell's book "how the racers ski", what got my apt attention was his describing a carve as a car with all four wheels hooked up going around a turn, vs, a car sliding or skidding, and his apt description of being able to close his eyes and listen to his students ski, he knew who was where by their slides. So a pencil line is good, especially on hard snow, and skidding is good for stopping. If the east had a plethora of soft conditions but cold snow carving might go away. Not that sliding isn't fun on slush.
  25. Using an iPad, it has its own agenda, yes rear ward, just like skis, mount forward for slalom, middle for gs and in the BACK for downhill, theoretically on the same ski.
