  1. Any interest in a late February session at either or both?
  2. Its a family of curves. With all the time a shutdown provides I did my own little study but I was looking for insights on how a gecko plate affected the flex curves. I suspended a board on rotating pvc pipes at the two ends of the effective length and then measured the deflection with a dial indicator along its length while loading the binding locations with 5 lbs., 15 lbs. and 25 lbs. [each]. The red boxes indicate the extent of the bindings. I assumed there would be a flat spot in the curves under the bindings/gecko footprint but my rudimentary setup was not sensitive to discern them. A single static board deflection is a coarse measure of flex...how the deflection changes under load better describes the board response.
  3. I do not see a lot of body movements during the course of any of your videos and it appears that your shoulders are more aligned with your bindings than perpendicular to the long axis of the board. Is that part of the “racing” technique and you are just more comfortable in that stance OR is that your comfortable stance that you learned to excel with?
  4. Do not launch until you physically see the pins pop thru the bindings.
  5. I take mine apart, inspect everything and re-grease every year. Preventative maintenance goes a long way but nothing lasts forever.
  6. Finally! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
  7. Unless you have the pitch to yourself keep your head on a swivel...glad to hear you survived to ride again! Speaking from similar experiences. Clear out all the great tips when riding because you don't have time to think. I use these as a screen saver.
  8. If you want a flat front foot you need the toe lift to counter the boot ramp. Without the lift you run the risk of straining the leading side of your front leg and it will remind you for the rest of the season.
  9. Do you have to shield the brush to prevent a cloud of wax?
  10. Hanging a board from one leg while riding a lift can be tiring especially if you are boarding laps on a 60 m hill.
  11. Thanks for the confirmation of sizes. My daughter was struggling to find a board wide enough to eliminate boot out in the production board selection using that sizing method. How much does the board weigh?
  12. What is your boot length and board?
  13. Before everyone scores a trophy let me clarify because I don’t want to get in the middle of what must be a point of contention. I don’t mind ice as long as it is the consistently smooth scraped surface prepared by the skidders and skiers when they dress out the undulations as they scrape their way down the hill. By undulations I mean the frozen corduroy that freezes on the pitch when a cold front moves in and flash freezes the heavy wet snow the groomers previously prepared when the temperatures were above freezing. I’m not partial to NVH characteristics of trying to ride across a frozen washboard surface let alone the stress on the sphincter control circuit. What I meant to say is “Schweitzer without the un-groomed frozen tracked out edges defy covered with a layer of snow looking like powder (anything deeper than a quarter inch qualifies) hiding ruts and mush piles frozen in place” that I experienced last March. I can get that at home…I don’t need to fly 1966 miles west only to find the same conditions I left in Michigan, “The Winter Wonderland”!
  14. Local Pass negative. It barely balanced out every season and last year got burnt with the border lockdown since the pass was good US/CA but couldn't get to Searchmont. Aspen cancelled the Classic Pass which forced a purchase of an IKON. Hoping to make good use of it at Aspen and Schweitzer [without the ice] and locally at Boyne. Just thinking about it makes me Thirsty.
  15. What about hanging out with zombies?
  16. Woman’s 8 - 25 mondo with overall outside length of 11”.
  17. My daughter is looking for a softboot board recommendation. She 5' - 4" and 145lbs. Currently riding a too narrow, too short ten year old K2 Fling that she is booting out when carving. She prefers to carve the board and avoids the park, etc. so s looking for an All Mountain board. She doesn't want a stiff race board. A quick review of threads is pointing to a Donek Phoenix.
  18. Buttermilk has a free valet service. Take two boards one in bomber bag to valet and swap as needed. They will rack a board bag stuffed with whatever within reason.
  19. I think I’ve seen those guys driving the big tow trucks along the 401/402 on the tv show.
  20. So my computer wouldn’t boot up this morning so I had to call the corporate help desk located in of all places…India. After fixing my system I asked the tech about COVID cases in India and whether or not they have been using ivermectin? The tech says he hasn’t heard much about that but said they were using the other drug…dare I say it…hydroxychloroquine. By the way he said cases have dropped off but its only anecdotal information.
  21. I'm not making any recommendations about anything...I barley made it thru school. There may not be any official studies but the data don't lie. Here's some interesting data from India's database today. I not sure of the refresh rate [day-to-day, week-to-week, etc.]. If there are confounding inputs delivering the positive results I would like to know what they are so I can factor them in. I will say this with confidence. The data counts are corrupt, the data collection system is corrupt, the data analysis is misleading and the treatment protocols are never discussed. Limiting treatments to states that don't conform to the narrative in order to give it to states that do conform but need it because of breakthrough cases speaks volumes to the efficacy of the vaccine and the simple minded leadership of the nation. The leadership should be ramping up production of a apparently useful treatment much like the 5-year development/production cycle of the vaccines were pulled ahead instead of rationing a limited supply. I'm still waiting for all the criticizing nations to step up with something better than what the US has produced in record time. I would rather see trillions of dollars spent to eradicate this scourge, a real investment in human infrastructure, rather than piss it away on bs. And in the mean time 1,000,000+ potentially unvaccinated people are poring thru the border stoking the fire yet again.
  22. Truth or Fiction - thought I'd worm this into the conversation. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/09/huge-uttar-pradesh-india-announces-state-covid-19-free-proving-effectiveness-deworming-drug-ivermectin/
