  1. Gah, I wish. Should be good. Working. Brown dogs for life!
  2. Sorry don't mean to. The cat doesn't care about my day and The Wife's heard enough of it, so I feel the need share it somehow!
  3. Darn didn't know you there. Was looking for someone to share it with. Parking lot is also full today but I've still yet to wait for a chair. I can't harken back to the good ol days at Loveland , but coming from the epic resorts I've still never seen crowds so sparse with that much snow on the ground. Its also really solid today. PC I'm not sure if I have the right number in my phone for you. Does anyone else have availability during the week?
  4. Philw modded the existing center discs to work. They do not sell specific 3D discs for f2. I think he posted a pic of his mod somewhere
  5. Loveland is...... uhhhhh......really damn good today. I've never seen so few people on a foot pow day in my life.
  6. That ended up being a super fun morning! Definitely an exercise in mixed conditions carving. Missed mr slopestar and mrs slopestar. Thanks ink for helping me sort my hip issue and mini ink is getting on another level. Great to see everyone. Mario I changed my avatar for you even though it was probably the best one on here (still is now!). I guess I can't expect everyone to get my South Park references. I put your Oxess back in my board room for safe keeping. Until next week...
  7. Barry, I'll throw two more cents into the mix just in case it is of any help. When I ride in Hardboots I'm not really comfortable at angles less than 55/50 ( I have fairly limited rear ankle mobility which adds to the problem). Most people are gonna say use the lowest possible angles for the board, which I agree with. But since I can't go any lower than that comfortably, I always ride decks around 20cm and always narrower than 23cm. Different strokes for different folks.
  8. There are little hash marks on the underside of the boots that mark the center. Those are a good place to start.
  9. I'll be there. Hopefully I can find you guys before everyone hits the bar. Would like to ride with and meet JG too.
  10. I'm just giving ya a ribbing. I actually owe quite a bit of my riding style and ability to your writings and little video clips. I have a chronic tinkering problem so it was just one less thing for me to obsess over. Now I run about 57/53 and just put the front heel to the edge and the rear toe to the edge which is pretty much centered on my current gear. Starting out, the "step left turn left" and vice-versa feeling that bias allowed really helped me learn to initiate turns and stay balanced. Now at higher speeds and g-forces I feel like I can't sense it as much so away it goes.
  11. We talking *Binding bias? I used to ride with a lot of bias since it helped balance and turn initiation at lower speeds. I got rid of it because I don't put around the mountain like Grandma, and it was just one more variable I don't feel like messing with. Not knocking your methods because it definitely helped me starting out. As my riding progressed I just didn't feel the need for it.
  12. It says you designed it for your smaller hills, but how do you think it would do with more vertical? I ride a very turny style and I'm looking for something in the 170 range thats really exciting. Thanks AL
  13. Is your rear binding still biased to the toe edge? Did you have overhang at 55/50? When you did the Fuego did you adjust your boot so that the heel of the REAR boot is near the edge or is there a lot of underhang? I usually tolerate about ~1cm of toe overhang on my rear boot and unless you are trying to EC on firm snow/ice then it shouldn't cause much of an issue.
  14. Nothing wrong with Prior at all. Some people swear by them. I started on a 4x4 and really liked it. You can get one at a pretty attractive price with the exchange rate. I think most people on here are more familiar with Donek's and Coiler's offerings. Donek definitely has a more much comprehensive lineup than Prior and can easily get you custom goods. Can't go wrong with any of the three. It all comes down to board style preference, price, and when you want it. Can't speak for sure on those Cateks but people still use them.
  15. Reminds me since I'm upright and mobile I should probably get out for an afternoon session
  16. I second those are sizable turns. You could easily get in twice as many on that slope. On my 10.5 m proteus I like to make really hooky turns and drive the edge super hard right before the apex of my turns creating turns more like this which ultimately scrub quite a bit of speed < > < More edge pressure= more g-force= more fun for me. That's just the way I do it though. ***I am not a coach, and I don't play one on TV.
  17. So if I get a European board is it going to require overly frequent and expensive maintenance? Of course I kid. I would say Coilers tend to ride like Cadillacs but I've been able to overpower every one I've been on. Some of The old doneks rode like pickup trucks but his new offerings like the MK are really swell boards but too short for me. I'm interested to try a donek secret maybe. Michael- I'm thinking along the lines of a slalom race board or a lively freecarver in the 168-175 range. My longer board is a Stubby 175 but it is too tame for me. I bring it out when I just want I cruise with the wife.
  18. Are you sure you aren't watching the Pro Bowl?
  19. Thanks for all the tips! Lots to take in. I've never heard an ill word spoken of the SG 163 and apparently everyone loves their Thirst boards. Those are both far more economical than what I was looking at. I have a lot of down time at work to look at shiny things so I probably need talked down off this expensive ledge I'm on! Im typically a turny across the fall line kind of rider typically so maybe a short race deck would add some spice and variety. I'll give Mark at Thirst a call too. Slapos- I've got a few Coilers and been on a couple other Doneks. Great boards but looking for something new Skategoat- I took out a friend's Oxess 185 racer on a semi crowded slope today and yeah, it was all the wrong kind of exciting lol. Not my flavor. I should probably be thinking about how much overtime I have to work to afford something rather than going off how shiny it is ?
  20. I've got a room full but my proteus is my favorite and daily driver so something along those lines just shinier and more exotic
  21. I'm looking to add something spicy to the quiver, but I'm not sure where to start. Something fast, snappy, and poppy. Virus? Pogo? Oxess? Never been on a virus, but I hear they are exciting which is what I'm looking for. Frank pointed me in the direction of his Lightning and Interceptor boards. I know nothing of Pogos, but they sure are sexy. I rode the custom Bomber Oxess, and I wasn't too impressed. It rode really well, but I can't say it made me want one. It seems Shred Grummer and Big Canuck are all about the custom Oxess so there is probably more to them than what I experienced. I just wanted to hear what y'all have to say before I drop $1500+ on a toy.
  22. They are interchangeable across the heel and toe like the S/L ones. I'm at work until Monday, but hopefully after then I can get you some decent measurements on them. I don't think that matching that end radius is super crucial to the function
  23. OK yes so there are two different shim sizes for those. I'm pretty sure the difference between the large and small sets is the length of the baseplate while the mediums use different toe and heel blocks entirely. The hole placement is a little different and the medium shims are shorter. I have both types so I will post comparison pics and measure with some calipers. It really warms my soul that someone is undertaking this because I am totally technically inept in these matters. I think there will be a demand for sure. The cant shims are just too big of a jump sometimes. I ride with the big block for toe lift and outward cant on the front and straight heel lift with the big block on the back. Its the outward cant and toe lift on the front is what I have been having problems dialing in. Ive figured a few methods for fine adjustments but none are ideal. Also the big block is too much toe lift but two opposing shims isn't nearly enough. All attempts to make the block lower have ended in failure. Unfortunately I don't have access to a printer. They seem like cool little things to have especially in this case.
  24. Back to the original question- Like this- WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SNIP SNAP SNIP SNAP WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH Goes home after 2 hours to rest legs.
