  1. I was 59 once. Actually about a week ago.
  2. Considering our audience, can we hijack this thread to speak about the horror that Deer Valley does not allow snowboarding? At what angles do we qualify as a monoski?
  3. Congratulations to the skiers responsibility code for winning $1 for Pepper Potts.
  4. I was 3' from death last week at Heavenly. I was carving very predictable lines on World Cup (which is a slog to get to along Roundabout). It is a short run at the bottom of the mountain that is used primarily for race training. I checked my line and had about 4-5 turns I could make on the run. This was on a Monday and not crowded at all. I am on my transition to front side turn and a guy passes my back at the apex of my turn about 3' away going at least 50mph. Full straight line skier. If I had not made that turn at that moment we would have both been heading to the hospital or worse. I caught him at the bottom of the hill and said at least 5 of the 7 words you can't say on television. Dude was oblivious to the danger. Probably 20 years old and the only thing he had to say was, "I am not really a carver, more of a straight liner". Hopefully he filled out the organ donor card at DMV.
  5. Uphill bad. Downhill good. Gavel!
  6. You have probably seen those suits that inflate to protect you if you fall in your house, on the job, etc.. I am pretty sure the suit would inflate any time it was within 6' of that board.
  7. Su*k it up Kneel. Like we used to say when I taught at Vernon Valley "You gott'a be tough to live in the mountains" (of Jersey).
  8. If I am to be made to look bad, I want you guys to do it again next time. I am now uploading that first photo to wikipedia to replace the current image of smoothed butter.
  9. I keep trying to time my schedule and the Cal Trans warnings keep stopping me. I was speaking with a neighbor last night who was one of the last cars over 50 leaving Tahoe last week on Thursday. His story is scary as F. Head out the window once his wiper blades froze. A Tesla ahead of him with a young kid sitting on the window to guide the driver. He hit the mountain at one point after the plow ahead of him scraped down to the black ice.
  10. I am going to get 2 short days of Colorado at the end of this week. Which should be my choice on the Epic Pass lineup? I think one day is already decided by my daughter to be Vail. Also, is there a town to stay in closer than Boulder to jump to the resorts without paying 1K/night? Thanks Alan
  11. Tell me you have good health insurance without telling me that you have good health insurance.
  12. I default to rock. ACDC, Violent Femmes, Tom Petty. I am using Chubby Buttons to adjust music. I really like the easy controller but if you don't press the button often enough it loses the connection. Easy way to pause or adjust volume. I got one for my brother and need to check in with him and the Apple connection. I am using Android. https://www.amazon.com/Chubby-Buttons-Stickable-Bluetooth-Resistant/dp/B0B59VM669/ref=asc_df_B0B59VM669/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=598352729234&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3574560788406222440&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031886&hvtargid=pla-1729335626147&psc=1&region_id=674469
  13. The beginning lyrics of The Immigrant Song on repeat.
  14. It is open to adults. Time to register is critical if you are not already a member of USASA. I decided not to do it since the registration for this one and only race on the west coast would make the cost of two or three runs about $150/run. https://usasa.org/regions/western/2015-10-05-17-04-58
  15. Is this upcoming USASA Tahoe race open to adults?
  16. Mad Max Frozen Road - Part 2
  17. I really want to come up for a few days next week but I don't know if I will be able to drive into either SLT or Kirkwood since I am coming from the coast? Looks like my son will have to miss some school the following week.
  18. I just finished reading (listening to) Deep Work by Cal Newport. The first half of the book is a warning to those who will be replaced by AI. This is happening really fast. My son is graduating high school this coming spring/summer. If he does not excel at programming, he better learn plumbing.
  19. I rarely filled it full. It barely pushes me off the back of the chair when sitting. It is a very ergonomic fit.
  20. Many years ago I hit Mammoth on Presidents weekend and they set a record for attendance. I never waited in line longer than 5 minutes that day by moving my way across the mountain to the backside and then moving back in the afternoon. But, I was not as particular about the run choices then as I would be now (and I am pretty sure you will be selective for the best groom also).

    Video editing

I use Adobe Premiere Rush. I have an Adobe Creative Cloud account since I do graphic work professionally. Rush is the light version of Premiere. This allows me to cut and trim audio as well as video with a lot of precision. I did not spend a lot of time on this one but was able to get some of the sound cuts to hit my video cuts pretty close to what I wanted. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pzrgw1wdh6hlkgt/Time Warp Bottom Time a.mp4?dl=0
