  1. I guess I should be saving frequent flyer miles for more trips to the Rockies rather than hoping for Tahoe to deliver this year.
  2. I did the exact same thing. I reached out to Gumbo and they sent me the remaining parts of the full kit and kept the price to the same as if I had just purchased the full kit from the start.
  3. Some bottom time in Bora Bora. Photo of top time.

I started playing about 7 or 8 years ago. Sporadically. I just started playing again after a full 2 year absence (I can't remember why I was staying home so much?). I am at best a 3.5 but currently self rated at 3.0 so I am hopeful to play with a 4.0 woman this summer on a mixed 7.0 team. I am still at that place where I am constantly reminding myself to keep my head down when hitting the ball. I played 7 innings of baseball this morning (at catcher) and then sped over to a USTA doubles match. I am crazy tired right now.
  6. I had been wearing a small backpack with water but I found it to bounce a bit and be distracting. This item is the best gear upgrade I did this year. I wear it under my jacket and it is just high enough to not be a problem on the back of the chair. Just enough of a zipper pocket for an hex wrench tool. Front pockets fit Cliff Bars. Link for reference. I bought mine at REI https://www.backcountry.com/osprey-packs-duro-1.5-hydration-pack-61-92cu-in?CMP_SKU=OSP00CG&MER=0406&skid=OSP00CG-ALPBL-SM&mr:trackingCode=E64FD3B6-742E-E911-810B-005056944E17&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=c&mr:adType=plaonline&CMP_ID=PLA_GOc001&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PLA&k_clickid=_k_EAIaIQobChMInp-Fpejd9gIV4Qh9Ch0LAg6vEAQYAyABEgJHHPD_BwE_k_&utm_id=go_cmp-10753578891_adg-110028160270_ad-454277601504_pla-816597539182_dev-c_ext-_prd-OSP00CG-ALPBL-SM&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInp-Fpejd9gIV4Qh9Ch0LAg6vEAQYAyABEgJHHPD_BwE
  7. Not the lift line, at my office: Me: "The groomers were excellent on Saturday". Him: "Oh, I don't like the groomers. So you are just cruising". Me: "Not quite". I am still limping from Saturday. Someone take this lactic acid from me...
  8. Well, if softbootsurfer says no. That would be the authority on the subject. So now I search for the medium big board with a rounded tail so I can navigate the bumps.
  9. For clarification, the Cateks have been retired. @BlueB what is your hesitancy with the Step On. Rave reviews by folks I talk to on the mountain. Also, I really am about to be 60 years old (not on rails in the park). I will modify the step on for the cable release up mid calf to avoid doing crunches in the snow all day. Heck, I may electrify it so I can just tweak my nipple and activate a blue tooth controller for it (patent pending).
  10. I have been riding hard boots for around 20 years. I will be 60 next year. We are heading into the spring conditions and I want to ride for the next month. My current boots are UPZ XC12 which is the free flex/free ride version attached with Bomber TD3 sidewinder to a Coiler AMT. I was looking at getting a Burton Step On set up so I can mount up an old as dirt twin tip for days when I would want to follow my family anywhere on the mountain. In the past, I put my old Cateks on that board and it felt like I was going to break it when the nose dug in for a turn. Therefore, I am hesitant to put the plate bindings on anything but a carving board. Am I better off getting a shorter, bx type board that can handle the plate bindings? Do any of you ride your powder, all mountain type set up with plates on something like a K2 production board? (probably the best idea is to make a bench out of my K2 Eldorado that was a free, B grade production board from 1992, I actually made about 500 benches for K2 in the early 90's).
  11. I am waiting to try out my new response: "It's a rental. Is this not normal?"
  12. I recently ordered a few items from Bomber. Stellar service at present.
  13. The forum abbreviates this thread to read "Tell me about your Mot.." Any other Blade Runner fans?
  14. With the average age of the forum members, we should be embracing the colostomy bag. Just not too tight.
  15. I had been using a pair of Burton pants for almost 30 years. I loved them for the small rubber pads sewed into the knees. I just retired them and got a pair from Spyder. These were the only pants I could find with an outside small zipper to let the intec release lever pop through the pants. So far the pants are good but I am far from dragging my hip in the snow on a turn.
  16. Is this for you or one of your racers? I have my old Nidecker SL 161 that has a lot of mileage on it. It is probably about 2002 vintage. If it is for one of the kids you can have it. I will be in Southlake a week from today.
  17. I saw an ad for this today. WTF!? https://www.vidangel.com/?campaignid=15227682455&adgroupid=129093550229&keyword=movie filter&placement=&target&network=g&gclid=Cj0KCQiAu62QBhC7ARIsALXijXTSzvoKrBAMN-SYyUCZpBquUdg3kvg7cShTHZeb4bSJX8DcKmw56l4aAt_6EALw_wcB
  18. To follow up on this. I called Bomber/Gumbo and they sold me the remaining parts to a full set without any extra charge based on buying it in stages. Very good business and friendly service.
  19. I used these about 4 or 5 days. No problems just prefer my other bindings. Purchased new. $180 plus shipping. Located in California.
  20. This changed a lot for me recently from some advice to get my shoulders more perpendicular to the board. I have been trying to see both my hands in front of my hips to accentuate the rotation. This has gotten my weight forward and helped to lock the edge in. Sometimes too locked in and I get launched out of the turn but that can't be too bad
  21. That makes me feel better that I had not set something up wonky.
  22. I purchased a second board kit for my TD3's. I was installing last night and due to the position of my toe and heel pieces ended up nearly breaking down the entire binding anyways. What is the rationale behind the second board kit? Is it to spare the wear and tear on the board inserts?
