I took a lesson last year at Mammoth when I was just starting out on my hardboot set up. The instructor was teaching out of the Canyon Lodge and I can not remember his name. He was a bit older than most of the snowboard instructors and was awsome. He was on a soft boot set up but that did not stop him from laying down awsome trenches and getting nearly flat out on his euro turns. alan

I live in L.A. and have been searching like crazy for a local race clinic. I spoke with someone at Mammoth who said he would set up a course for about $300 for two or three hours and maybe get someone out there to point at us and laugh. I also spoke with some guys at the ski dazzle show who seem to mostly teach freeride/ park stuff but said that they could set up a clinic but I was a bit sceptical even though the person I spoke with claimed to have made it to the USASA nationals. I have spoken with the guy (sorry I have forgotten his name) at Goldsmiths in Big Bear and considering his racing experience I would be psyched to get involved in a clinic with him. alan
