  1. Ha! Got too excited to notice the post date.... Duh! Well that Prior Slasher was a sweet find I wouldn't have found otherwise.....Man, I'd be all over that if I hadn't already got my Moss Performance Quad......seems like every board manufacture has a "surf inspired" board in their lineup now...........
  2. Lon I couldn't get the links to work for the "collector" from Reno selling 90 boards in Reno/Tahoe CL........went trolling myself and saw these of interest: Sims Race - $100 https://reno.craigslist.org/spo/6010372287.html Prior Slasher 156- New $300 - https://reno.craigslist.org/spo/6014099973.html

  4. Hope you wrong coast boys are out finally Getting Some!! My son works at Cannon Mtn. NH and he said it was "Puking Snow" all day today....and that's on top of the 23 inches they reported this morning!! Enjoy!!!
  5. Hey Corey, Could be more closely related to H.D. - aka: Hyperpicky Disorder When the groom turns to lumpy mush by mid day I not only bring along a second softer board, I also bring a second pair of softer boots! I swap out the Track 700's for Track 325's and my pumped thighs and knees have been rejoicing ever since. Of course going back to the car to swap out board and boots can be a pain depending on the vastness of the resort. Too much trouble where you have to negotiate a huge village and remote parking like at Squaw or Northstar. Not a problem at Alpine or Kirkwood where you can park right infront of the lift........
  6. Anybody coming in early for TTC? Sunday I'll be at lift 5/Solitude at 9am for some warm up runs on L. Zachary then chair 6/Cornice for Upper Zachary if groomed.... text me if ya want to ride............ Barry 530-448-4114
  7. Hey Ripster!, Wow......that's gotta Suck Sorry for your troubles. Sounds like Jim has come to the rescue - Yeah Bomber Family!! I know it doesn't help right now but I would think about upgradung to Step Ins/fintecs......especially if this is the second time you have broken the standard heel bails! It sure would be hard for me to ever again have alot of faith and or aggressive carving on that system holding up if I had already broken it twice! Keep the faith and I hope your trip gets better
  8. This sounds like some of my experience with a super stiff Virus. When I would get my Virus UFC to flex and loaded up into the turn it wouldn't release on heelside sometimes if I got pitched back even just a little. Lots of built up torsional energy looking for easiest line to dissipate I assumed...... I loved the board but my thighs were toast before noon and that won the debate to move it on.......
  9. Man you Canuk guys are quick to critique - must be something in the water up there?? Thanks Blue B for the save there!~..yes Neil their steep but I have come down from 65/55 (when I set up the Moss I was just matching the setup that was working on my Swoard Dual) to 55/45 and reduced my rear lift from 6 to 3 and traded out Track 700's for 325's............ liking it and it's working for me.
  10. With my new Moss PQ 60's shape and then the addition plates and hardboots........well it seems it is just Too Much (different?) for almost everybody to comprehend! I had a buddy come in for a 3 day Tahoe hit and run - (1st chair to closing every day at three different resorts) ...and on day 1 on the first ride up I get the usual bombardment......in the lift line, on the lift, at the top of the lift........... skiers and snowboarders alike, even he lifties chime in, it's a montage loop of:..... "what's that?, cool board!,nice ride!, surfs up dude!, cowabunga dude!, going surfing?, Where's the surf?, Hey, the ocean is that way!, whoa-look at that, Is it.....fast, maneuverable, for pow, for groomers, for BC".......and then they start in on "the ski boots", etc, etc......and those in the lift line that are not close enough to ask questions are gawking and pointing and saying all sorts of nonsense. My buddy is in total dismay at all this attention and by the third lift ride up he says - "Man, is it Always like this"? All I can say is - "Yep!, I'm the recipient of unwanted attention "...Ugh! By the 4th or 5th lift up it was nice to also hear from some of the same people - " Hey!, Wow!, Crazy! nice...turns, lines, carves, runs"
  11. Well, I love having EC in my quiver of riding styles and I think learning to EC has made me a more aggressive rider and pushed me onto steeper slopes to apply EC. I would also have to agree with Gadwood that there's something unique to Swoard as the initiation needed for the necessary lean and commitment to EC has been a lot easier to learn and initiate on my Swoard Dual than any other board I have had......and once you got it, well now I can just as easily two hands down rail my new Moss PQ60!

Hey Rob What's the model year and width of the Moss?
  13. Hey Bob I hope those stiffer Track 700's are helping with your carving revelations!! Hope to see ya at TTC next month
  14. Hey J, Interested....... is this new from this season and what weight did Sean make this for?

    TTC?

Hey Bob, I'd say any day or two you can get there would be my aim, but you would think the most attendees would be there for the raffle/banquet at the end Friday. I can only make it (Sun)Mon./Tues.....maybe Weds if we got snowed in.... But I agree with Ladia, I couldn't spend a whole week at Kirkwood even if I had the time, it's not That big......Kirkwood is well known for their fresh conditions and the pow.....but it's very isolated and attendees not in the know will find that the food, lodging and Apres ski options are very limited and sub par. For me a whole week is for experiencing more than one resort and I wish TTC had the multi resort format like ATC. I imagine this inaugural TTC will be a small contingent
  16. Hey I assume you know your coming into a zoo coming to Squaw Presidents weekend.....I mean every place will be super busy but I live at Squaw and were expecting the next storm cycle to start this Thursday and expecting 5-8 or more every day for the over a week. Squaw already can't keep up and they can hardly keep half the Mtn open because ofd daily storm/wind or avy work So expect late lift openings and/or the top not open at all Just FYI
  17. Hey BlueB "Ground into the Plex" - Hmm....I guess that would be the easiest way to accomplish a concave tail. Not quite sure but with my hand I can feel a distinct drop where the concave effect starts. The tip and tail are the same thickness and the tail tips has a slight rise to them and you can see in the photos that the wingtips have metal edges running all the way on the inside of the tips. Not sure this is comparable to swallow tail/split tails, but compared to other swallow tails I've ridden this board wants to carve and it doesn't slip/slide out of turns in the groomers H2O - That stance is 20.5 which is the exact center points as marked on the board and those angles are 55/50 .......will also try 50/45
  18. Hey Eric, I can say, with this boards concave tails it doesn't feel like you lose any speed going in or coming out of turns, but it's no trouble to bleed off speed if wanted. Moss says "the double concave tail creates a wet snow vacuum release; reducing drag which in turn creates more speed. The shape of the base and sidecut come together to make this one of the quickest accelerating boards in the lineup"
  19. Here is my New 2017 Moss Snowstick Performance Quad 60 It is an incredible ride and obviously does tha pow but I have found, as others have... Moss boards will carve and love to surf the groomers. Moss boards are truly a Renaissance shape for all mountains and all conditions and it seems every company has a just recently been inspired to create and include a "surf inspired shape" in their lineup....when Moss has been the originator and doing it in relative obscurity in Japan since 1971. Can't wait to get ti out in the Pow that's coming tonight/tomorrow! Here's the stats: LENGTH: 1600 R.LENGTH: 791 EF.EDGE: 1210 SIDECUT: 10000/9000 NOSE/TAIL: 302/289 WAIST: 258 STANCE WIDTH: 520 (480-600) SET BACK: -5.5 Check out the concave split tail........
  20. Yes I know there's a TTC forum, but it's not getting any traction and all the post from ATC have me so Pumped and Stoked (especially considering TTC is just a little over 4 Weeks Away!)...I Gotta Post Something to get this train amoving!!! Anybody booked their TTC Kirkwood accommodations yet?? I can only be there Sun/Mon/Tues.. and interested in splitting a room. Maybe Weds if we get snowed in ,....Gee, the roads are closed, sorry Boss!
