  1. Thirst and Coiler are bringing/sending demos for sure. Still waiting to confirm a few other companies!
  2. Or go big and get a custom new ride! Thirst (Mark), Donek(Sean) and Coiler(Bruce) are exceptional builders in North America. Call them up tell them what kind of riding you are currently doing and hoping to do, they will build you your dream ride! None of those builders have dissatisfied customers.
  3. I have a 9SW. I am not as good as describing ride qualities however I will say that it is a "Giggle Fest Rocket Ship Rollercoaster Ride". Mark at Thirst did a great job building what I wanted, A 8RW that goes lower, longer, faster. Mine is mid 18cm at waist, 65/60ish on angles, stock flex (.143)and beautifully constructed. I have not gotten as much time on it as I would like. Been busy with a little carving event project. But hoping to have time soon. The key to the Thirst boards is moving your bindings around to find the sweet spot. I am amazed at how the ride quality gets once you find your sweet spot, for me it was about 1 inch back from center on the inserts on both the 8RW and 9SW.
  4. The NSR is a super fun board and have had one for many years. Fast, stable, long low turns. Not an everyday board, but the Right Day board. We are so lucky to have such a wide array of board builders! Everyone can find their magic board!
  5. Welcome! Glad you found us! Amazed you found the Montucky Clear CUT! Still time to register and join us! Enjoy the ride!

  8. There is 75 of those addicts headed to the Montucky Clear CUT in 2 weeks!
  9. Turner today with Johnasmo. Super busy day, 140 people, this is the bowl at 11:00am..
  10. Be sure to check the website for updates and schedule! https://montuckyclearcut.com/ 18 days!
  11. Agreed. The 8RW rides much smaller but with all the stability of a longer board. Finding your sweet spot on the inserts really brings the board to life. For me, back on the inserts in good snow and centered for hard, icy snow.
  12. If it is wet and not yours, do not touch it.
  13. At Turner Mountain. Most likely before I pulled most of the inserts out of the foam core Elite 150. Me with some swag from a contest at Schweitzer. Mid 80’s.. maybe 85 and 86? Still have two boards in background. Schweitzer, ID 84/85?
  14. I like the Tape and Sharpie I idea. Will have it available in Lodge when you get your tickets.
  15. Not sure if stiffer or not, they feel stiff in the first bit of flex but then smooth.. might be the BTS?
  16. We have quite a few “First Time Carving Session” people joining us for the Montucky Clear CUT. Some are traveling alone and might be anxious about the whole deal. No one likes showing up to a new situation alone. Many of us are already very excited to see friends that we have made over the years at other carving sessions! My question for all of you is, how do we help speed up the “getting acquainted dance” and make it super friendly, inviting and comfortable for the lone wolves joining our pack? Did the Mentor Program at Aspen Sessions work? Would a meet up the Sunday the 10th help? Start a thread on “How to Survive and Thrive at your First Session”? Any other ideas? If we do not come up with any great, easily implemented ideas, I will be counting on each and every one of you to go out of your way to meet new people. Ride the lift / take a run with some one you do not know, learn about each other on the ride up. Chances are you will have a lot in common. We are a small pack and all need to help this sport and event grow! Thanks! David
  17. I love mine. BTS with red springs. I have not ridden them without a BTS. 180 lbs 5’11”. I went down 1 size from previous T700’s, and that snugged things up in all the right places. I think I have been riding the wrong size boots for a decade plus. I am using whatever thermoform liner came with them. I do get some movement of the liner in the shell when I get snow/moisture between them, but have not taken the time to fix that with some strategically placed tape and boot fitter foam. I would agree they are a stiffer boot, but stiff like a good sports car suspension. They respond very well with small inputs and absorb the big loads. I did pick up a pair of old Raichle 125 for my powder boots/board ride, have not gotten a chance to test those. Same/similar mold as 425 but with softer plastic and 1 less buckle. 19. I thought it would be good to consolidate all the information about the event into one spot. I will make updates both here and on the website as things change. https://montuckyclearcut.com/ Also look for our Facebook Group Montucky Clear CUT 2019 and on Instagram! If you have any high resolution carving pictures we can use, please email them to montuckyclearcut@hotmail.com If you see any errors or missing information, or questions please let me know at montuckyclearcut@hotmail.com Thank you so much for all that have helped and are attending!
  20. Bruce said he would send some out. @jburk that one is difficult, the post updates all over the place, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and occasionally on their web page.. too hard of a moving target.
