Full disclosure: I'll be there with family, and they will be skill capped at groomed blues. We also wont have the legs for more than about 3 hrs total of riding. I'm only good for about a dozen hard turns before sitting down to catch my breath/let the legs stop burning (we're coming from sea-level). Will you be lapping happy trails if we aren't there that early? Is there cell coverage on the mountain? Any tips on parking? I read the website on parking but it isnt clear what parking costs or if it fills up?
Before kids I was trying to do the same. Unfortunately with little ones, nights and weekends are the hardest. I usually go to silver fir on Friday mornings around 10 to 2. If there's any chance you can do a weekday let me know. I took next week off for MCC but now can't make it, so I'll be trenching up silver fir, dreaming of all the MCC fun.
Bump for the season. I will probably be taking every other Friday off work to ride Summit Central Silver Fir. Anyone else flexible for weekday rides? NateW, PM coming.
I've been eyeing those customs, but they aren't in the budget right now. For now I'll keep drooling. Hopefully at the next Clear CUT I can figure out a way to demo or borrow some other peoples boards to see what I might like.
Next year for sure! Didn't find it in time to make it work this year logistically.
Snoqualmie is my home mountain, grew up there, taught there, still closest. Plus my wife gets a discount on lift tickets through her work. Pics are under the Silver Fir chair at "Ski Acres" ;). I'm not excited about the lack of parking at Stevens and potentially having to go home.
Hi All!
So pumped to have found this site. I've been an alpine rider since the late 90's but have felt like the only one left for many years. I average several days to the mountain a season and am lucky to see another hardbooter once every few seasons. Recently as I've gotten older (time to be an adult), I've come to realize that I don't need to put up with 25 yr old gear any more so I started looking around. I found the carver's almanac website, some facebook groups and the Montucky Clear Cut event. My stoke has been reignited! Just upgraded boots from my old packed out Nordicas to some almost new Deeluxe and boy have things come along way. Next will be some step-in bindings as I start to get myself back into better shape and ready for Montucky 2020. Glad to be here and share my eclectic taste with other like minded riders!
