  1. I would trust Sean at Donek. Give him a call back and share your thoughts. I have never had any of the North America board builders disappoint me. Sean, Mark and Bruce are all amazing builders. They all know how to build just what the customer wants from phone calls. They do it everyday. We are very fortunate to have so many custom build choices!
  2. With a little Plotograph upgrade.
  3. Ha ha ha... you ask like I have ever had a professional tune.. never have had a board ground either.. sorry but I have no idea.. I think @johnasmo has some Coilers with over 1,000,000 vertical feet on them without a grind or pro tune. I usually use a 50/50 mixture of blue & purple bulk swix wax, knock the big chunks off the edges and ride. 15-30 degrees F would be normal. Turner is pretty low elevation and I have seen everything from very wet snow to really dry and fluffy that time of year. Save some cash and just wax with a good all temp wax. Thank you for supporting this event! Things are shaping up very nicely!
  4. I agree, tough to quantify that one. Ones that I really enjoy carving at and would not pass up a trip to: ID: Grand Targhee / Sun Valley / Schweitzer MT: oh so many good ones..Turner, Whitefish, Discovery, Big Sky, Showdown, avoid Red Lodge and Snowbowl for carving. Montana is littered with great little areas that are all under $50 a day. Hard to go wrong.
  5. Wish you a speedy recovery! Soft snow will do you good!
  6. Montucky Clear CUT... FEBRUARY 11-14, 2019 Most likely North America’s biggest, best and most fun carving even!
  7. I think it is a great thread. Lots of nuggets on how things help folks. People are sharing. There are tons of techniques and styles of carving, at the end of the day it is all about the smile on your face. Maybe a few of these nuggets will help more than the OP... @1xsculler asked for tips, Forum is sharing. Well done Forum.
  8. Yes!! Look with your whole head where you want to go! Seems like every year I have to re-learn all of those things...perishable skills.
  9. I am not a great instructor, but what seems to help me is.... 1 don’t reach for the snow... (inside hand in turn) 2 outside hand in the turn reach towards your front boot (keeps center of gravity over the board) 3 try and touch your ribs to you hip bones opposite direction of the turn (also keeps center of gravity over board) This is the “C” shape with the spine that Jack has written about. 4 really tip the board over on edge with your knees (drive with Z knees) 5 Go to the Montucky Clear CUT and ride with others, get dynamic pictures in you head, take a clinic with Corey! Read and re Read Jacks write up. Lots of golden nuggets there.
  10. Demo them all at the Montucky Clear CUT!

  16. Thirst 9SW This is a beautiful board! Well done Mark! 195cm/18ish cm/mystery algorithm sidecut/magic
  17. Awesome to see you diving back into carving! Great set up! Come on out to the Montucky Clear CUT session to have some wide open runs and no fear of getting run over from behind. Cory will have some carving clinics to help get back in the game. Enjoy the new ride!
  18. Pneumonia Ridge, Elk Basin and Cabinet Avenue are really mellow blue runs, then a short cat track to Pig Chute or Lower Mambo. The Cat tracks / Jeep roads are nicely pitched, no slogging involved.
  19. Too much information, but good playing it safe.
