Popular Post crackaddict
Best day of the season so far! Just some easy turns, trying to stay tall and minimize the weight on my hands or not touch down at all. Some steep carving video coming soon... What board and scr? @barryj "a lot of turns"? Too many? Then don't watch this next one it has even more! That was a Coiler Contra 169 with a 12m sidecut, lazy turns on green terrain. This one is a JJA TCX T4 171 with a 15.5m sidecut. Slightly less lazy, mostly blue terrain with a taste of black diamond steepness at the end. @dredmantold me not to max out my suspension so I bent my knees a little for him today... Any notes this time? Anybody?
dredman
@crackaddict not sure if it is the snow, board change or bending knees a little, that looked super duper smooth. Looking forward to riding again with you.

dhamann
@crackaddict anyone else get this feeling while standing in a lift line? dam snowboard carvers taking up the whole trail. yup. skiers can come out of nowhere. smooth riding. great example of quiet upper body and letting the snow come to you and not reaching for it. lava. softboot carving doesn't have to be all mustard like the young gumby asian riders make it out to be. an edit of a full run is nice to see too. give it the gas.

Odd Job
1:48 would've been a pass attempt by a cubicle warrior that gets less than 10 days a year on snow, in the US.

ShortcutToMoncton
Hot damn that is smooth. Super still upper body, impressive!!!
Rob Stevens
The Asian carvers don’t have the whole hill to work with. If they’re not aggressive, the corridor gets too wide and they’d get run over. I don’t have the energy to turn that hard, so am glad that my locals are big, western mountains. You keep putting that hand down and you’re going to get it ripped off. Try rolling a Drum with one mitt. Living well there, my friend. StrangeFuture808
Hard to beat James's perfect run, especially on a volume shifted powder board with a nose rocker but this is the same 2 runs this morning. I just started a bit higher and ended before the last pitch in@crackaddict's vid. Riding duck because this is my daily driver and not one of my dedicated carvers.

I'm thinking it was shot on one of them thar new fangled 360 cameras, which capture the whole sphere of space around it, and then you "point the camera" at your desired subject after the fact on the computer or app. Great riding! Definitely softboot carving worth watching. On 1/7/2023 at 1:29 PM, crackaddict said: Right? Why are they so aggressive? It's not even steep! Agreed. I think it's a style thing. Makes it easy...

For the sake of politeness on the mountain it's a good thing I usually wear mitts and my hand signal vocab is narrowed down to just thumbs up or thumbs down. 1
