bjvircks
Awesome! some fixed in front, some floating in front. some with bumpers under the front, some not. Look at the risers on the board 3rd from right! Slightly different spacings between attach points to boards. Bindings seem to be always inside of mounts to board. On the pair of boards base to base 5th from right... even though almost same length, the mounts to board are so different. both fixed at rear. the board to wall appears to have a rear mount that allows 2 fixed locations (like front on board 2 from right) . SunSurfer
Photos from the latest FIS PGS at Valmalenco reveal more details of the Apex plate design and in use. http://fis.smugmug.com/Other/LG-SB-FIS-WC-Valmalenco/11451389_DGBGr#809160687_aPrQX-O-LB (apologies, links not working properly now. Photos are towards the end of the 2010 season FIS snowboard photos) shows the slots at front and rear of JJ Anderson's plate with the impression of selectable positions for the rear hinge point. http://fis.smugmug.com/Other/LG-SB-FIS-WC-Valmalenco/11451389_DGBGr#809157644_PxDFq-O-LB This photo of Michael Lambert carving shows the Apex plate flexing, possibly to a greater degree than the snowboard itself. Notice also the relative positions of the pivot points in relation to the binding position on JJA's board. To my eyes the front pivot is farther ahead of the binding centre than the rear pivot is behind the rear binding centre. Looks to me like a mechanism for using plate flex to additionally absorb front foot shocks from bumps/ruts etc. Further photos from the race are at http://fis.smugmug.com/Other/LG-SB-FIS-WC-Valmalenco/11451389_DGBGr#808435990_7pp5R SunSurfer

ShortcutToMoncton
Hahaha his boots look to be attached... a solid 3-4 inches above the board surface.... :D
bjvircks
if the bails are 6mm, I estimate from scaling that the boot sole is right at 3.0 inches

This little videos gives you a feeling for a number of other alreas. 2100 acres if I recall correctly. http://www.skihood.com/About-Meadows <object width="873" height="525"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOU-L9ngKqU&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&hd=1&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOU-L9ngKqU&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&hd=1&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="873" height="525"></embed></object>

www.oldsnowboards.com
Hi Hans, YES! Brand new website!! Mike just put it up recently. Actually I was only riding Mike's new GS board. (I only got to ride it after it had started to get soft and chopped up) Mike absolutely ruled on it all day. I don't know if I have every seen him ride more inspired. Right off the bat he was ripping on it. Must be nice to be able to build your own special boards!! The plate is the nicest I have seen!! It is big, black, stiff and bad ass!! Carbon fiber top that the weave is just sweet. The board is a full TNT version. 13/15 SCR 19.5 cm waist 184cm length We will have to wait for Mike to tell us about what makes this board system unique. I hope to ride it again very soon!! It was very easy into the turns, damp, and held an edge like a knife. My new GS board is still in development. Mike has held off on it until the after the Olympics and his work with the racers slowed down. I want to benefit from all that has transpired this past winter. What I know of it's build so far: Definitely TNT construction!! 18.5 waist 180-190 length 13-15 SCR I still want some "Nose", Mike and I differ on this topic :) Probably NOT metal. Full floating/ sliding plate system Snow Sticks, heavy duty models.
