Guest 4000
Hey, hey . . . give me some time. I'm no longer a snowboard college bum in skiville US but a working stiff in Asia. It would be lucky for me to get 3 days in a year and I stopped playing Warren Miller long, long ago. Can't guarantee pages but give me 3 or 4 weeks. And I probably have to rent gear . . . I guess I can't guarantee much but I'll give it a go. . .
Phil
Unfortunately, it will be difficult for any of you to do this using your current set-up.... Thanks, I needed a good laugh.
lonerider
I'm bettin on 5 pages W/out video, c'mon, 2:1:boxing_smLol... yea I'm sure everyone here has at least another 4 pages of hot air before some just posts a video. My money is on 6 pages.I'm *not* saying that you no-video-all-talk posters are big-fat liars, just that the point is to find a video as there are plenty of posts already before this thread talking about it. We all have stories about it - heck I was introduced to hardboots when an alpine rider saw me trying to do 360 carved at Kirkwood on a freestyle board - I don't know if what I did technically counts since my loop was more of a rollercoaster teardrop shape and while I was on edge... I was going like 5 mph after the 270 part. But getting back to the point... <img src=http://i5.tinypic.com/8abx6pi.gif> Or video in this case. queequeg
I think they are easier if you start wide and then hook the last 1/4 with a tighter but clean carve (no spinning). Jim I find this is true too. If I crank it down right away I lose speed too quicly, but if I bring it around slowly and progressively get lower and push harder, I can get it pretty far around. D-Sub
and STILL not a SINGLE vid! I don't want to count the "I've done it" posts, but there sure are a LOT of them. OP specifically asked for FOOTAGE and yet...none. In that case..man...I carve 720s on a 17m radius board all the time!
Jrobb
a few guys in the MADD posse I have seen do it and do the tail twirls at the end there must be video somewhere if anyone talk with Curt (CMC) ask him, he may have some video of it. At the 2:20 mark. I don't see any tail spin... and again at 2:44 J
Phil
Of course, the people who are whining about the post count/video ratio are also increasing the post count in this thread. ;) And now, so am I.

pokkis
At the 2:20 mark. I don't see any tail spin... and again at 2:44 J These are class book examples of tail spins. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with tail spin as such, but they dont belong to 360 carve.
eaglez
In that last Vid of Curt, just one question. Is that crouched over riding stance what we are looking for to acheive a good carve. Looks unnatural and uncomfortable. He seems to be having fun bouncing around on the board and pulling the nose up (not sure why) but I am not sure my back could take crouching like that the whole day. Anybody? D. nils
Cool challenge for this winter :) - 1st video 360 with no tail spin and ready to go rider - 1st video 360 backside... Its indeed way easier to do 360's with a softer flex board with symmetrical flex pattern ( swoard etc..).. On a Race board the tail is kicking out too much to my opinion.. I'll try to get the cam ready :) N

No. Curt is one of the strongest carvers I've ever seen, and he has total command over his tool. He can put an edge in anywhere. However he is way too bent over. A lot of wasted energy there. This also diminishes your ability to balance. He's mastered carving this way, but it's not ideal.
eaglez
I appreciate the info. Not trying to criticize, just wondering about the technique. I am no where near his ability yet, just was hoping I didn't have to adopt that crouch to get there. Thanks Jack, D.
RDY_2_Carve
IMHO CMC looks silly, but he rips like no other. I'd love to rip like him one day, but I don't want to look like him in the process.
www.oldsnowboards.com
Terry English has been doing it for years! Careful Carver, "The don't post Video Police" are going to "Getcha" Funny how the original poster stays calm and collect while others get worked up. Patience, this imediate gratification youth must learn to hold their horses. "I WANT IT NOW" is so , well, young. Behave.
D-Sub
I've seen videos of "carving" 360 with up to 270 carving and finishing on tail spin (I remember video of CMC??? who made even 720 this way).I've seen video of carving 360 and riding forward on skis (link posted here??) However, I haven't seen videos of pure 360 carve on snowboard (and riding forward) though I remember that some claimed doing it. Thus I propose challenge: post video of carving 360, on snowboard, without tail spin. Who's up to this? Maybe challenge for SES? IIRC Aspen Ajax has some trails/trail intersections suitable for this with crossing intersections and slope sides similar to pipe. P.S. If you are going to attempt this then don't forget security: most riders on slope are not ready for people riding against gravity! jeez, vahur...guess it aint gonna happen :)
www.oldsnowboards.com
This is only good form if you flap your arms like a birdie while you are hunched over. ;) For the newer BOL members. CMC is banned and can not respond. Otherwise this would likely be a trigger for substantial flame war . Although it appears Jack has been pretty reasonable in defending CMC. Good on ya Jack! Be nice now boys and girls.

www.oldsnowboards.com
Maybe just a little? I'm still seeing a lot of talk about it "I did it a long time ago...", "my friend did it", "some other story of a Bigfoot sighting." ;) Now I'm not trying to censor anyone by discouraging them from posting their empty claims... but this thread is asking for a VIDEO of it because they are already dozens of posts talking about it... just no video... and that's what I, Vahur, Carvedog, and others want. So please, if you don't have a video to back up your talk, please consider not posting until you do
