  1. End-of-season demo stock is the way to go to save $$$ and get up to date equipment. Of couse, this is probably the worst time of year to say this... Oh, and I agree with what Jack said about NOS. I still have boards from the early '90's that I ride now and then for giggles....
  2. I have access to a few of these, new in the box, that I can get to BOL members for $55 shipped in the US. (Payments via PayPal.) Swix says this about them: Economical iron with adjustable temperature. Standard heating plate. Light indicator for correct temperature setting. With clip for the FCI method: Fast Clean Iron with paper between the wax and the base. Contact me via my profile email if interested. (This public service announcment was approved by Fin.)
  3. Blackpro or Blockpro? I think the question has been posed before (without much response....): http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=8744
  4. I don't think the plexiglass disks are meant to be a cushioning layer, I think the idea behind the plexiglass disks is protection of the metal topsheet from damage that could be caused by bindings. Of course, I could be totally wrong too.....
  5. I believe it's Plexiglass. Lexan would probably work fine too (And it'd be BULLETPROOF...)
  6. Completely agree that the fancy CNC downhill trucks won't make a difference for the average downhill skater. Slalom trucks on the other hand.... This less-than-average slalomer I know (me) noticed a huge difference going from the usual tracker / indy style to precision...
  7. He posted photos here and here over on the fish that I assume is his board. (Or one of his boards, as he BETTER have a quiver...) Hellcat? with Maguns on it.....
  8. Pfffft! M6's are a dime a dozen. Oh, wait... So are PJ's. Nevermind. :( On another note: Is the crazy net profit because of moron sellers, or moron buyers, who would actually buy a PJ for $900? I heard a radio DJ talking about how "icky" garage sales were once. I wanted to call him and ask him if he'd ever heard of Ebay. Biggest effin' "icky" garage sale ever, with lots of "icky" sellers laughin' all the way to the bank..... .
  9. Yes, there are definitely pay for use situations between cities. There are several shuttle services that will run you between SLC and PC, or the airport, or the different resorts. Hotels will probably have different transport services, you would have to talk to them... There's Taxi service too.... You could leach rides of off BOL members too! (Might not be as accomodating as the other options, but who knows?)
  10. Yes, public transit can get you to the resorts early enough for first chair. Quite a few of the resort employees use public transit, and a lot of them have to be there early enough to open the chairs for us so..... Keep in mind that if you are staying in Park City, public transit will get you around in Park City, and to all of the resorts in and around Park City - Park City, The Canyons and Deer Valley (BOOOO!). If you're Staying in the Salt Lake Valley, public transit will get you to the Cottonood Canyon Resorts - Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta (BOOOO!). Getting in between Park City and the Salt Lake Valley is another story as far as public transit is concerned. I don't believe that there are any public transit options when it comes to that...
  11. I'm going to hijack your tread Buell, since you seem to be done with it, and I didn't want to resurrect one of the ancient body armor threads. Any BOL members have any experience with Demon protective gear? Demon Snow Protective Gear Their vest looks simple and effective, and less expensive than a lot of others I've seen:
  12. Check this thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=14297
  13. Weird. I was talking to someone about this earlier today, wondering what was going on, and if there were any news. Please update us Fin! I don't care what forum you put it in.
  14. Looks familiar eh Bob?
  15. I still have access to some if any other Bomber type people are interested in a purchase. ;) ;) Email me through my profile.....
  16. Park City location again. Everyone is welcome.

    OT: Dog Nut

Finally had to give in and get a dawg for my kids:
  18. This Thurday (6/21) we will be dodging cones in the parking lot of the stadum at the "U". (Or you can come and skate the campus too if you would like, but come to the stadium and say hi to the slalom geeks too.....) I'll be there early, probably around 4:30, as I will have to leave early. Others have promised to be there with cones to skate as long as anyone would like. Anyone needing directions PM me.
  19. So.... Saying "There you go" means that you are carrying GOG and Pavel? I don't see how that would lead anyone to believe you had the products available. Maybe you could have said "Here you go:" with you're URL, or simply stated "We've got 'em", but saying "There you go" re-enforced to me that GOG's aren't available in the US. You have one truck left? Front or Rear? Price? One GOG truck available in the US = as I said, basically not available at this point in time......
  20. This Thursday's session will be held in Park City at Kimball Junction again. We had a lot more success last week in Park City, so this week will be the same. About 5-6 PM, probably closer to 6. (Weather permitting of course. Hopefully it will stop raining....) Everyone's welcome. Las week we had longboarders, shortboarders, carveboarders, a kid was even running cones on one of those Wave inline boards, so come join the party. Here's a map, for those that need directions - the red star marks the spot....
  21. Yup, it's easy. Cutting boards work, other stuff too, I don't remember the names of it though, check silverfish, or NCDSA. You don't have to glue the velcro either, just buy the industrial strength stuff that already has the glue backing. If you're just using them for protection while riding the Carveboard, they'll probably last forever....
  22. I have a pair, and I like 'em. I've got nothing to compare them too though. The hardcore slide guys will tell you that the pucks are not burley enough, and will wear out fast. I don't do any serious sliding, I just wear them "just in case" when I slalom, or go fast on any other board. The single puck on the fingers is kinda weird too. Easy to cut the puck into as many pieces as you would like though, or make new ones...
  23. Since we're dreaming, why don't we have Fin whip up some PVD's? PVD Racing Trucks Apparently the designs for these trucks are "Open Source", according the some of the "in the know" slalomers: PVD trucks thread GOG weren't the first trucks to have on-the-fly geometry adjustability....
