  1. The red F2's are taken, thanks mick, box and ship tomorrow
  2. 1 Set of F2's and 1 set of Titanflex conversions These are medium, with extra cants and extra length screws, 140$ shipped (in USA) Titanflex, medium with extra cants and screws 175$ shipped (in USA) 1 set of Titanflex conversions, thicker center mounting steel and the 1" riser and extra screws and cants 75$ shipped (in USA) For inquiring minds, this is a 27.5 UPZ boot in a medium binding, notice that a 30-32 UPZ would easily fit.
  3. Except In the U.S., emergency plans developed by states for a shortage of ventilators include using positive airway pressure machines—like those used to treat sleep apnea—to help hospitalized people with less severe breathing issues. While that measure could stretch the supply of ventilators and save lives, it has a major drawback. Officials and scientists have known for years that when used with a face mask such alternative devices can possibly increase the spread of infectious disease by aerosolizing the virus, whether used in the hospital or at home. Indeed, that very scenario may have contributed to the spread of COVID-19 within a Washington state nursing home that became ground zero in the U.S. early on. First responders called to the Life Care Center of Kirkland starting Feb. 24 initially used continuous positive airway pressure machines, often known as CPAPs, to treat residents before it was known the patients were infected with the COVID-19 virus. “It’s best practice for us for people with respiratory illnesses,” said Jim Whitney, medical services administrator for the Redmond Fire Department, whose crews responded to the nursing home’s 911 calls. “We had no idea that we potentially had COVID patients there.” It was only later that King County public health officials advised Redmond Fire and other first responders in the region not to use those machines for patients suspected of having COVID-19 illness. Whitney said responders were using the machines with specialized filters, which can reduce the amount of virus released. But county public health authorities recommend that first responders avoid using CPAP altogether. Redmond Fire has now discontinued the use of CPAPs for COVID-19 patients.
  4. Let's get something straight, China stopped the spread by first taking everyones temp, the people with elevated temps were blood tested, if the virus was detected they were cat scanned, if they were infected they were put in isolation, China found that if they were cared for by their families, 2-3 family members then got the virus, so, China locked down, seperated the infected and three months later flattened the curve, social distancing is a pipe dream, this isn't going to stop growing for a year or two unless strict measures are taken, test everyone, separate the infected, stop interacting, and encourage those that don't understand.
  5. My first kessler was made for a world cup---olympic rider and it has 5 sets front and rear, all the unused holes were filled with plastic plugs, keeps the holes from filling with ice, so, only the necessary holes drilled out saved the not used holes from expansion contraction, we know how far apart they are, so we can just draw a straight line and put a dot on the center of where they would be, then we can take a strong magnet put it below the board and some metal filings, sprinkle them on top and watch them align with the holes we dotted, or, drill a very small hole on the suspected dots to learn if the space under the dot is empty, the holes could be patched with epoxy if it were not needed. There were conversations about this on bomber, searching doesn't seem to expose them.
  6. I don't think the medical world needs gilmore bias Ventilators have a endotracheal and an oxygen supply. Although gilmore bias after recovery may help, partying.
  7. Timely, if the radius is 36', the diameter would be 72' So a 12 meter radius board would have a 72' diameter if it were drawn on paper, of course, when weighted a board bends, making a 12 meter board capable of much less than a 72' diameter circle, rebound is the energy gained by a bent board being unweighted.
  8. It's a 12 meter (36') scr, if you laid the ski down and traced the sidewall, that trace would become a 36' circle, but, that was 20 years ago, today, the tail is tapered, thinner than the tip, makes it easier to get out of the carve, and the skis and boards have variable sidecut, the tip is 12 m, the mid is 14 m and the tail is 17m, add some rocker and then try to imagine the shape of the sidewall. Thanks Kessler
  9. OK, the Kessler, a 174 hand made by Hansjürg Kessler for Alexa Loo, a bronze olympic champion has got all the bells and whistles, taper, variable sidecut, hammerhead, it's made after all the kesslers that broke, the hammerheads didn't break, it's got 5-6-7 short sessions on it, not to bump it, but to explain it, I got a 7 nastar on it without a plate, it's dying to get used.
  10. Yes, where are you. I'll wrap and get a shipping estimate.
  11. I found in my second year of riding after breaking my collarbone, that I was always on my rear edge, I couldn't get off it, if I touched it, it was hard to get off it, well, on really cold days. Seemed silly but, my collarbone was broken because I ditched it rather than hit a tree. So, I outward canted my front foot, just enough to get my hips off the board before the edge was weighted, there's a trade off, yes, you get on your rear edge later, err, you have to move your hips further to get on edge, but on the front edge, well, it's more immediate, using catek bindings to find the balance point between to much and to little outward cant for the front foot was fast with the catek bindings. Just my observation.

  13. The design may be timeless because it's efficient and inexpensive and lightweight, but it's got all the newest materials encompassed in it's construction, it can be canted incrementally as well as lifted any degree you want, I'll give you 50$ shipped to 03601
  14. It was built for me at 170ish lbs, it's a variable I believe, 12-14, just guessing, bruce would give an accurate answer, but 12-14 seems about right, it's metal, and it's got lots of life left.
  15. The virus boardercross is 27.95cm at the tip, 23.17cm at the waste and 27.3cm at the tail, I never rode it, it had never had a structure, it's good to go, viri are all fun.

  17. Exactly, 20 years ago a horse bucked my right hip out of joint, as I flew backwards through the air I thought, "I'm an alpine snowboarder now", now, 20 years later with a new hip, back on skis, 20 years ago skis didn't carve less than 17m, today, my 14.9m make smaller carve's than my 9.5m MK, and I was a 4 nastar handicap 20 years ago, I'm a 7 alpine snowboard nastar handicap, carving skis today are as much fun as carving snowboards, but safer, no blind rear edge, not turned sideways going forward, no skipping steep thin trails.
  18. The beauty of the Zip is the tongue, but it should offer different hardnesses, UPZ liners are not Zipp liners, huge difference, Zipps have huge heel hold, and are very low volume, UPZ boots are perfect, Deluxe not so much, Zipp might offer a bladder for Deluxe boots, something attached then filled with cork to fit. Zip's are heated by heating the shell with steam, then inserting the liner, and wearing fr 10 minutes, it's an at home feature, all liners allow orthotics, orthotics are exactly how you accomodate arch height, Zipps are more a performance liner, vs any wrap around liner with no tongue. So, warmer, taller, tongue stiffness choices (my full tilts offer 6-12, I use 12) bladders for deluxe boots, check.
  19. If your heel is tight, done, the looser your toes the better for blood flow. But, if you go with the 27.5, you can punch out the shell if need be, I'd go with a smaller shell and a conformable custom foamed liner, with orthotics. If you go the custom liner route, make sure you tape foam or something over the veins from your ankles down to your feet both sides, better blood flow, warmer feet, better balance.
  20. About 20 years ago I picked up a set of these.(Actually bought their entry level set for the 6yr old daughter when the first ipod was released, in ear so there wasn't much volume, vs apples earbuds that weren't in ear and had to be turned up to loud) https://www.etymotic.com/consumer/earphones/er4-new.html Audiophile, meaning flat from 20-20khz, in ear so you don't need volume, safer for the ear, expensive, I've sent mine back twice for repair, free, summers I roller skate with them and tons of sweat has never been a problem, they have never dislodged unless I snag them with something. I skate and ride to Biggie.
  21. As you are cutting 90 degrees to the fall line on your rear edge, not fast, get off the rear edge and on the front edge, in a straight line, weight the edge, tip it up and ride it, the sooner you weight it the sooner it will start your carve, ride it don't slide it, you're going to be going fully from one side of the trail to the other, wait for the board to turn, it will, then when you're going 90 degrees to the fall line on your front edge, switch to the rear edge, going straight and weight it, take your time, carving hard snow-ice takes perfect balance and timing, and initiating the carve is the first step. In your minds eye, yes start the turn with your feet, but picture the edge in your mind, let it grip, the turns will be large to start but as you build up speed and get the board higher on edge the turns will become crisp. You might find your setup will keep you from getting small, rear heel lift greatly lessens body tension for smallness. Yes, racers take a straight line to the gate slide their board to the turn angle then weight the board, it's faster, and after you feel a weighted edge that will be an option, but starting with a pure carve might be the way to go.
  22. Then buff and polish, make sure the polish is the correct temp, it's faster to use the correct temp. In soft powder, boot out doesn't matter, on hardpack boot out as carvedog mentioned, will break your neck.
  23. I'd see where there's snow and plan then, Okemo, Stowe, no. The conditions are the same weatherwise at okemo and sunapee, sunapee has world class grooming, okemo doesn't. Stowe, no. You can wait and see where it's not warm and rainy, but, if it's warm and rainy everywhere, sunapee will still have excellently groomed trails. Was at stratton last friday, what a mistake, my edges are toast, grooming, or the lack of knowhow.
