  1. I like it. with the ecu mods and the full exhaust it should be around 30 HP. rides great. suspension is a little soft for my fat ass, though. 6 speed, dual disc, inverted forks, dual overhead cam. biggest drawback is the 2 gallon tank. before the mods I was getting 71 MPG. haven't filled up from the last ride yet to see the difference
  2. '09 Kawasaki 1400 Concours. with aftermarket exhaust and computer flash. This set-up gives it 102+ lbs of torque and 165 HP to the ground. It's SCARY fast & powerful. Although I have slowed down some, (in my advancing age), I still LOVE a "spirited" ride through the twisties. It's my asphalt carving tool of choice..... 2020 Kawasaki KLX 250 Dual sport With exhaust and ECU mods..... of course I also practice and firmly believe in AGATT, (all gear all the time)

    Yo Lci!!

I just ordered a Virus Mono. I told him that I want a Mono that carves like my skis. Frank said it will be Super Carvy, it will have Carbon and the same base as his competition boards. He said in an email... "it will be super fast and I will need fireproof underwear to ride it !" Sounds perfect, to me...

not to mention the broken parts above the shoulders...
  5. Cool, I guess that leaves the goodies to the MonoSkiers...

    Yo Lci!!

Oregon is pretty much closed as well...
  7. Riding my LaCroix Skwal @ Mt. Ashland a couple days ago. First lifty tells me I can't ride with only 1 ski on. Still dubious after I pointed out the second binding and made me wait while he called his supervisor... Get to the top and lifty did a full stop thinking I dropped my other ski. Had another Lifty seriously question my "homemade" ski and tried to bar me from riding. I googled Skwals to show him that they actually do exist. Clipping in at the top in front of a snowboard lesson group several of them wondered what in the world my Skwal is. The instructor confidently informed them it was a very old school "UniSki"
  8. Pete of the LCI coined a phrase that could apply... Riding the thin line... Bad Ass/Dumbass

    Yo Lci!!

Got in my first turns, today, since MCC. Mt Ashland finally got a few inches. Great day. Felt confident and strong. Got in some of the best turns this season. Even got a couple thousand vert on my LaCroix Skwal. Waiting for the under binding "Protection" plates from Ace. Next time up I'll ride the Ace Skwal. Sure was cool to ride with the LCI @ Turner. I miss riding with a posse. It's hard to trench out a run by myself...
  10. I go "carving" on my Kawasaki Concours 1400. 0-60 in around 2.5 sec, 10 sec 1/4 mile, 165 hp to the ground. Not stock 700 lb. shaft drive beast of a twistys carver. Guaranteed to put a smile on my face and an occasional stain in my shorts...
  11. I managed to make it The worst flat light I've ever experienced.
  12. I'm riding Anthony Lakes tomorrow Sat the 8th. I'm sure I'll be the only Mono rider there
  13. BlueB Are you coming to Montucky ? I'll have a few "real"Mono's with side cut that you could try. I have 1 that has a 14M sidecut that has bail bindings and would accommodate an Alpine boot. I'll also have a Custom Donek AF Plate with Bomber skiboard bail bindings that you could mount on any of your Alpine boards to ride them Mono style.
  14. Without the advantages of either ??? I have ridden the Mono since 2004. 2nd, 3rd and 4th runs, (ever),were on black runs, double blacks on subsequent runs. I feel it COMBINES the best of both worlds. The advantage of a board, the advantage of facing forward, the advantage of poles, the advantage of not having to clip in & out and the advantage of a releasable binding. I can leave quite a trench when on a carving board. I have 10M to 18M carving boards, Both manufactured Mono and Alpine boards mounted Mono. I have a Donek AF plate with side x side 4 X 4 inserts for Bomber skiboard bindings so I can ride any Alpine board as a Mono. i've been riding with the "LCI" for the last 9 or 10 years and I can almost match them turn for turn.
  15. I have a few Mono's for sale. mainly carving boards. first one would be $350 with a plate/bail binding set-up, (178) 14M sidecut, Square tail not much good in the deep. The other is a Coda V 2 without bindings for $200. It has 4x4 inserts for a Bomber ski binding. or a SnowPro skwal binding. I also have a Donek F Plate that has regular 4x4 inserts for snowboard bindings AND side by side 4x4 inserts with a set of Bomber skiboard bindings on it. $300. That would allow you to mount it to any Alpine board to ride it as a Mono. Last one is a New Coda Maverick, (185) with a normal "Demo" ski binding. 14M sidecut. Carving/all mountain/powder board. $450 It is a very unique shape that has a short effective edge on firm and the advantage of all 185 cm in fresh. It has maybe 5 runs on it. PM with a phone number for pics and or discussion.

Severiously trencherous shit... I LOVE it ! That should be a bumper sticker
  17. I don't know how to verify authenticity. Mario's suggestion sounds best.
  18. Larry's in Boulder does a good job. I would call about what liners they carry first, though. Best day for the LCI is Sundays. Upstairs around 7:30 AM they can get a discounted ticket with their pass. Also check Craigslist for unused 4 pack tickets.

    Yo Lci!!

Well I got in day 4 last Monday. managed 4K vertical. not much but I hadn't broke 3K yet. Ankle is still hurting plenty. That and Planter Fasciitis makes being clamped down in a ski boot a painful experience. I might be ridin the pine a lot at Turner, but, I'll be there...
  20. While on my Mono last week, I overhear a guy tell his gal... Look he's on a Uni-Board
  21. Mt. Ashland is set to open Dec. 14th. Is there any carvers that ride there ?
  22. Hello from Oregon Peter. I have a 173 Thias Skwal Free Ride that I would let go for $200 USD. I have no idea what shipping is to you. It does have bindings on it. I rode it 1 time after a full tune. Don
