  1. In Oregon you can pump your own gas into Motorcycles and boats ONLY if the attendent hands you the nozzle AND hangs it back up. Don Feed the addiction...
  2. I'll take the blue one. You've got mail Don Feed the addiction...
  3. If it was an Ebay/ PayPal purchase then you can dispute it. Otherwise... Don Feed the addiction...
  4. JD There's a bunch of guys in the Seattle area who ride Mono very well. I think they all have an extra board or two just for people who want to try it out. All you would need is boots and poles and I'm sure one of the WA group would meet you guys and fit up a board then teach you how for free. Don Feed the addiction...
  5. That would be me. Don Fed the addiction well today...
  6. Justin, a Monoski/Monoboard is very similar to an Alpine board in length and width and as in any "board" different scr's are available. What makes it a Mono is the way the bindings are mounted. We use traditional Salomon ski bindings mounted side by side. Some guys use a non-release bail binding. We also use standard ski poles and boots. Don Feed the addiction...
  7. That wouldn't work with standard ski bindings as they are longer than the inserts on the board are wide. Besides the weight... Don Feed the addiction
  8. RDY I think that would have been me. There isn't any other Monoskiers who pursue the carve like me. We'll get along just fine, knuckle dragger
  9. First off I would like to thank all of you guys for accepting a Monoskiier to your forum. I'm here because: I ,(like all of you) am after "The Carve" I don't follow "the norm" I ride what I like regardless of what "the norm" thinks I like to hang out with original thinkers not those who follow the crowd I like to hang out with "Real People" not posers It's not about speed or tricks, it's about carving... in a Zen like fashon When you put the board on edge nothing else exists. True passion Equipment is purchased/used for function NOT brand name I hope to hang out with more of you guys this season... Don Feed the addiction
  10. Yes the Mono is my weapon of choice. My favorite is a Rossignal Throttle mounted Mono with Salomon bindings. It's approx. 1" wider then carving mono's in a 170-180 range. I made 5/8" risers for more boot clearance. It is also a little stiffer than most mono's. I weigh around 215#. Anyway the snow on main runs has been carve fantastic. The only issue is the crowds. The first 4 or 5 runs are great using the whole run for full on carves then the people make it a little less carve friendly. By 11:00 am it's too crowded for big carves. Don Feed the addiction...
  11. Total blizzard today. Wind, snow in copious amounts. Life is good. The runs that are open are well covered. Off trail...Be carefull. Stumps, branches, rocks, you know the drill. Didn't keep me out of the trees totally though. Don Fed the addiction well today
  12. I would love to ride with anyone there. fresh and all... I'm sure I'll be the only monoski there. Lets compare carve's!!! Don Feed the addiction
  13. From what I understand "We" were contacted by Warren Miller Entertainment. They came out to Utah during our annual "MonoPalooza" and spent two days filming. Tom Day and his sound man shot approx 2 hours of film that was condensed into the two or three segment in the movie. As Bryan noted I was in the right place at the right time. Cool for me :D As Time-Warner now owns the rights to Warren Miller Entertainment things may change some. As some have noted the format has already changed. Hopefully that is a good thing. I personnely would like to see all of the "other" snow sports be represented in every movie. BUT it will be up to someone who takes the initiative to pursue the movie makers. For us it's Scott Gordon, the "Mono Guru". He has fought for recognition, for those of us who choose to ride "the other board", for years. As you Alpiner's know, if it's not "normal" it doesn't exist in the Corporate ski industry. Scott Gordon has been thinking of proposing an annual get together for ALL of the "alternative riders" as in the Monoski, teleboard, Alpine board, Skwaler's, Snow bikes, etc... Oh and the ONLY one Piece suit was worn by WME's talent Jamie Piere Don Feed the addiction...
  14. Bryan was talking about me I think. I ride a Rossignal Throttle mounted monoski. (I also have three other Alpine snowboards mounted this way) I have been working on getting my carve on. I've ridden with a few alpiner's last year and seen a few out this year. I can hold a line as good as most of you, as anyone who has seen me can attest to. I'm the only Mono rider here in Co that carves hard. As with the Alpiner I want to lay trenches, except on a Mono instead. In the Warren Miller movie I had a red helmet on with "Monodude" across the front. There was a two turn snippet of me carving, and part of an interview. I couldn't hear what I said as our group of 23 were yelling so loud. The coolest part is that the Monoski community got some air time in a major feature film. Our MonoPalooza attendence this year was around 70. Also there is some footage of Micah Black rippin' it up on a mono in this years TGR film. I would be glad to ride with any of you guys anyday. 15. I rode there on Fri the 3rd. ALL runs went to Montezuma lift. Then to go down you had to download on the Gondola. CROWDED and basically sucked. I won't go back until you can ski all the way down.
  16. Possible murder victim. Police want help locating his board as a possible clue to his killer. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=609008
  17. I hiked Berthoud yesterday... Breaking trail was WAIST DEEP... Then caught Loveland Pass just as it opened. Not quite as much as Berthoud but still over knee deep. Made 6 passes of fresh tracks on each run. YEAH Keystone AND Copper now set to open on the 3rd Don Feed the addiction
  18. If the floor drain is connected to the sewer the it has a "P" trap and as such you can see the water level in it. Just like the one under your kitchen sink. The setting water prevents the sewer gasses from coming up. Often in basements people forget to pour some water into the floor drains. They dry out in time and sometimes cause a funky smell.
  19. That is a model called "Legende" It's a FAST fall line/bump MONOSKI. It is the successor to the "World Cup" model.
  20. I tried Alpining but it just isn't my thing. However I, like the alpiner, am after the pure carve. There have been some signific improvements in the mono world, but, I think pure carving boards are just getting developed recently. "Boot Out" is the biggest problem with the narrower boards,(risers help some) and if the board is wide enough to achieve steep edge angles it's then slow edge to edge. I ride an older Rossignol "Throttle" mounted mono style. When I'm out on the hill I seek out any alpiner I see to hang out with. With the right conditions I can hang fairly well. My latest toy is a 165 Skwal 8M radius. FUN TOY and getting me closer to that elusive body part touching pure carve. I hope to attend some of SES next year and learn some carving tricks. P.S. I don't wear a 1 piece http://www.monoski.net/
  21. I'll give you $60 if you will include shipping to Denver. skihor@aol.com
  22. Just curious if this board is still available??
