To me a snowboard is just a wide ski that you only need one of. I think many do it to be different, Huh ? I'm like you guys. I ride because I like to... not to be different. I ride skis, mono, skwal, and now alpine snowboard. All using my poles & ski boots. There are too many advantages so I'll endure the ridicule. They've been in my hands for 40 years. Pintail. wider tip narrow tail. Tail is narrower than the waist. No real sidecut. Rips in the pow. The tip stays up and there isn't any tail rise, it stays down. Don Feed the addiction...

This board was a manufactured Monoski from the early '90's made by the snowboard company Oldenburg. A few were "found" last year during a move, the story goes, by the Duret Mono guys. It's heavy, thick, OMG stiff, no camber and rides not bad. It has a very small SCR too. It's 139 CM. It was/is called the "Monocross" Kinda' cute huh ? Don Feed the addiction...

I've talked to Sean, (Donek), some about a powder Skwal. I have to admit I didn't think about the reverse sidecut. I'm not sure how it would act on the groomed. I was thinking more along the lines of the old Monoski Pintail design. Whatever would work I want one. Don Feed the addiction...

For a trip on the cheap stay in Evergreen with your friend and bum rides from on of the LCI. Pass holders can get something like $12 off of an already cheap ticket compared with the big resorts prices. The last few years some gas stations had 2 for 1 coupons when you get a fill up. In Denver though, and it brings down the ticket price to close to Lovelands price. Loveland is a ski area NOT a resort. So less crowds and generally good conditions. Any of the LCI will share their wisdom/tips. Good time will be had. SES is the best for comraderie and rental gear, and the most fun you will ever have riding out here. Don Feed the addiction...

Just finished an 8 state 8000+ mile ride over 33 days. ...... I bet you guys didn't know I could ride like that..... Burned up a set of brakes, a rear tire, and a set of trailer tires. Feedin' the other addiction...

Sorry about Sunday. After Saturday riding the Virus skiis I can hardly walk. My back is still screwed. Tried to ride the Skwall some but I must have done some tendon/ligiment to my right ankle in the Vail Pond fiascco. Really painful. I'm prolly done for the season, well maybe close 'Basin, but that will be more about friends than turns. On a more positive note it was GREAT ridin' with the LCI this year. I learned alot about carvin' from ya'll. next year I'll try to keep up Don Feed the addiction...

I'll be rockin' the Virus Skiis @ 'Basin on Sat, and planning on closing Loveland on Sun. Don Feed the addiction... Maybe some Retro duds on Sun ????

:lol: Au Contrair Mario,Lift 1 opened @ 8:30 with about 8 people in line. Instead of the mosh pit powder rush it was... "after you... no after you, I insist" They came from Silver Plume. Talk about freshies I 70 was closed from Vail to Golden, both directions. Somehow I got on from Hwy 6 and 60 mph all the way there. I did see a Hiway Patrol @ Kermit's and he waved at me..... I waved back.... I think I was supposed to stop. It was VERY STRANGE to drive all the way up to Lovey and see NOBODY on the road. I thought the world has ended and no one bothered to tell me Caught chair 2 first tracks , I 70 opened from Silverthorne and some more people came. After 4 runs on 2 ran into Pete and we enjoyed more first tracks. Chair 4 started and everyone went over there. We stayed on 2. Then 6 opened and we had more first tracks . Arne showed up on two planks, rode 4 and didn't see the sign: Top closed... SWEET TRACKS . Then chair 9 opened, and we were about 4th chair. DEEP but full on winter and couldn't see a thing. Noon and Pete and I were worn out. Don Fed the addiction well today...

Had a small gathering today @ Lovey... Bola, Barbara, Arne, James, me, saw Balboa Jeff too. Conditions were on the soft side. Basin reported more, so it should be nice. Sunny, a little windy on top. Should be very nice carving conditions tomorrow. I would love to join you'll but that damn work thing got in the way... Don Feed the addiction...

Lifty @ Loveland told a few of the Hardbooters today that a skiier had complained about the speed and safety of those "guys on those funny snowboards". Don Feed the addiction...

I'm going sat. Borrowed some Virus SKIS from Bola. They look bad ass. Vist step-in bindings. I hope I remember how to ski... Might be good for a few laughs Don Feed the addiction...
