  1. It's been a while since I've checked in here. May 1 I got on the scale for the first time in a long time. 205 pounds. Sheesh, I've never weighed that much! I'm 5'7" and 39 years old, but fairly muscular in the shoulders. I immediately cut back on the amount of food that I eat. I also crawled onto my bicycle. Yesterday (6/19) I was down to 188. 17 pounds in less than 2 months. Mostly due to exercise. I still eat what I did before, just a little less of it. No more 2nd helpings. But I'm riding 80-100 miles a week, 4 or 5 days a week. It's making a big difference. I have no final goal in mind. I am curious as to where the weight loss will end and when I'll need to eat more just to fuel the longer and longer bike rides that I will be going on. I love my bike . So I'm with you. I expect boarding will be much better this year since I'll be in far better shape.
  2. I don't post much here, but I read a lot. I also do a lot of competitive shooting (as well as teach it). The same problem creeps up there too. The parallels are really interesting. Anyway.... It's all in your head. To perform at your peak level, you have to be mentally prepared for it. If you go in with the attitude that you have (slow, crap hill, etc.), then you won't be able to perform. If you go in with a positive attitude (I can't wait to ride!), then you'll do much better.
  3. I had a lesson early last season and it was money and time very well spent. I learned a tremendous amount and spent the rest of the season practicing. If I am able to get out as much this season, I'll likely get in touch with the same person and take another lesson.
  4. Maybe it's best that you don't know
  5. I didn't mark the poll as I was a rank beginner on a single plank. I'd been skiing for years and decided to try snowboarding. First day out was on a soft setup. I hated it! No where near the responsiveness that I had on skis with soft boots. Found a shop with a demo hardboot setup. That was much better. Really enjoyed it. Ended up buying that demo board cheap as I was the only one to have ridden it. A Burton M6 (still have it). So I never really spent much time in softboots.
  6. If he actually sells that, I might have to put up my M6 with Burton rat trap bindings!
  7. Of course it does. Through the experiences and knowledge of the folks here on BOL, I've learned a tremendous amount. Last season it got me actually carving and enjoying snowboarding more than I ever had before. My eyes were opened as it were. Great stuff here. The learning never stops.
  8. Hoping for the best here. Fingers crossed and all that.
  9. 45 and 40. But I have Burton plates on my softy board
  10. Is it airline safe? Great looking bag. I love it1
  11. I have very mixed thoughts on this. On one hand, I'd really like to know what's going on as it will affect Bomber. Without Bomber, I'd never be having as much fun on the slopes as I am now! On the other hand, it would be pretty easy to provide too much information and hurt your case. So whatever you decide to do is fine, just be careful not to mention anything that will cause further legal complications.
  12. That depends on your relationship with the person, and how much they care what you think, to but it bluntly. If it's someone you're dating, and they're really interested in you, there's a good chance that it'll work. Same goes with folks that work for you. It's a very positive attitude and one that I like. I'm not a negative person. I generally expect the best out of people.
  13. Topped out a little over $503 thou.
