    Monday @ ???

I didn't get near enough today @ Lovey, Easter/wife thing... I'm going ridin' tomorrow Prolly Keystone. Anyone ??? Don Feed the addiction...
  2. To all of you who missed today @ Lovey...It was bluebird w/ a slight breeze, HUH ?, and Mario on his Virus. He has upped his game this year. He pulled off numerous EC'S. HELL YEAH ! I'm still learning this Skwal thing but managed to represent the carve thing well. WE WRECKED THE PLACE !!! Don Feed the addiction...
  3. Hey Guy's I've been practicing on my Skwal. It's a 8M radius 165 Easy Jungle and it RIPS. Soon Maybe I can too !! I should be there @ Lovey first thing. Don Feed the addiction...
  4. Hey Bryan, I might be able to help you out with getting you and/or your truck home. call me or PM me. three-o-three-513-9042.....five-o-three-481-7096 Don
  5. Hey JPW, I do remember you guys. I think we only made a couple of runs then got seperated. Anyway my new board is mfg by Yama,www.yamatools.com based in Ridgecrest Cali. Their home mtn is Mammoth. The board specs: 170 cm long, Effective edge 166cm. waist 21cm, tip/tail 27cm. 10 m turn radius. Bindings are Bomber Skiboard bindings, very nice. The're isn't anything remotely like it in the monoski world. They call it the"Tool" instead of a monoski. It is STIFF and for a Mono it rocks. It also skiis different than any other carving I've done on mono's, So I have to unlearn habits formed over the last 2 1/2 years and prolly 180 days. This board likes to be ridden dead center. All the other mono's like to initiate on the tip, set in the middle, and finish on the tail. All of my mono carving experience on mono's has used this method and it may take awhile to unlearn or relearn as the case may be. Don Feed the addiction...
  6. It's amazing what a run looks like after a dozen plate riders have had their way with it... Mario GREAT food. that was a lot of effort to go to for a bunch of carving bums. I enjoyed hanging with all of you guys. Bola, It's good to see someone stand behind their sport and enjoy it so much. I hope to ruin, (I mean carve) some more runs this year with you guys. Don Feed the addiction...
  7. I got my new board yesterday. Tuned/waxed and ready to rip. I'm fully prepared to make a complete fool out of myself trying to keep up with all you carveheads.
  8. I would try contacting the Customer Cervice / Human Resources dept. and explain who you are and why you're there. You're brother is home from Iraq etc... You never know. Anyone with a Colorado Pass has 4 buddy passes @ about half price, and 4 more @ about 3/4 price. (Passholder must be present). I might be persuaded to come up on Monday or Tuesday and I could burn two of my buddy passes on you guys. Margurita's, Beers ??? Our son has done his first tour and will prolly go back in May. Call me @ three-o-three-513-9042 OR five-o-three-481-7096 Don AKA Monodude P.S. you'll have to hang out with a Monoskiier tho. LOL But I'm all about the carve.
  9. Hey guys,. That was great. All of you guys ride very well. Most impressive. I think I've only rode a couple of runs with Mark before, and I know Stan casually. I don't get to hang out with people who are mainly focussed on carving very often, other that the occasional run or two with an Alpiner. I'm getting a new board that has way more carve-ability than my Rossi Throttle bastard Monoski. Very cool design. Deep swallow tail. www.yamatools.com Till next time, Don Feed the addiction...
  10. I would like to have some carving company tomorrow. That is if you don't mind being seen with a Monoskier. I love leaving trenches I just do it on a Mono. (My Mono is an older Rossi Throttle alpine board mounted Mono) Don Feed the addiction...
  11. If it's just snow, not ice, A good winter specific tire. Blizzak etc... Also WIDE "grooves" between the tread blocks will throw the snow out. Also "Siping" the tires helps on hard packed snow/ice. Studs don't help on fresh snow, only on ice or hardpack. Don Feed the addiction...
  12. I use Smart Wool socks. ultra thin. I think with a properly fitted boot a thin sock doesn't allow your feet to "wiggle" inside your boots thus less rub spots. Don Feed the addiction...
  13. HIKE! HIKE! Most of the high passes will have snow. Not good for carving tho. Don Feed the addiction...
  14. Hey DB and anyone else interested. Several of us Monoskiers/skiers/tele-skiers will be parting on the beach tomorrow at the Basin. I would love to compare carves with any of you Alpine riders. I ride a Rossi Throttle mounted Mono and I can walk the walk. Don Feed the addiction...
  15. Our annual MonoPalooza was at Copper last week. Thurs and Fri were COLD, snowy. Sat was clear and cold. Sun and Mon were 45 and clear. Supposed to get 3"-5" tonight. All in all I think it's going to be hardpack with alot of scraped/shiny snow. Don Feed the addiction...
  16. Last year at Keystone, Co. It was -24 in the parking lot. I have no idea what the wind chill was. My friend and I both got some frostbite on nose tip's and cheek's. Minor but frostbite nonetheless. Don Feed the addiction...
  17. My personal best was in '95 at Sun Valley. 68,000, Avocet confirmed. They had just put in a 3100 vert, (If I recall), top to bottom chair. I was skiing and just lapped all day. Now I think I'd be lucky to knock off more than 40,000 Don Feed the addiction...
  18. I have a couple of Monoskis mounted with bail bindings. (older stuff). I don't have much experience with using the set-ups you Alpine riders use. In my experience with older Cateks, Sno-pro's LoFo's and a couple of others, I found the bolt, or whatever, in the toe clip is to adjust for various boot heights. If the lever goes too far beyond the fulcrum it becomes a little loose. So it might be very tight to get on and off but may not be properly adjusted with that height bolt. Don Feed the addiction...
  19. I have a Colorado pass so I don't buy tickets. I looked at the ticket board the other day and the day tickets are going for $81. That's good for day and nite. The nite only is $47. Check at King Soopers or almost any ski shop for discounted tickets. Don Feed the addiction...
  20. Be carefull with icing an injury. No more than 20 min. on ice at a time. Some say 1 hour betwen ice periods. Too long on the ice can cause damage. Those neoprene braces are nice but are also prone to cause a false sense of security. They will NOT stop ANY adverse movement of your knee. The support is minor at best. Beside being easier than an Ace wrap those braces retain body heat/blood flow to that area which helps circulation thus healing. They also help you to remember to be careful of that knee. After an ACL tear, (not repaired), in my younger days I used one for several years. I felt MUCH better with it on than not. Now that I'm older I realise surgury SUCKS so rather than let a minor injury turn UGLY take some time off and enjoy life. The season's early. Don Feed the addiction...
  21. If you know people here who have the "Colorado Pass" they have 4 discount tickets available to them, attached to their pass for Vail, for friends etc... Last year the friend ticket was $35 a day. I don't know about the other resorts and discounts with their pass. Don Feed the Addiction...
  22. DB, I'll be riding Keystone tomorrow, Sat, I'm a first chair kinda guy so... After that I'll be somewhere on the mtn. 303-513-9042 Don Feed the addiction...
  23. I rode my Rossi Throttle (mounted Monoski) today at Vail. Be carefull about how deep of a carve you try to do. I stuffed the nose several times today. Even the groomed is soft. Don Fed the addiction well today...
  24. monodude
