1. Thanks Lee. Will you be at SES? If not I can get them whenever you are passing through Alburry...
2. RDY+1 I posted before but me and my best friend are looking for lodging for Wed/Thurs nights and possibly Friday. We will be driving up late Tuesday night to get there for 1st chair Wed. morning. I'd prefer to stay Friday night and drive back Saturday but it really depends on cost. If anybody has space for both of us on those nights let me know. We are looking into lodging right now in Aspen and the surrounding areas. Thanks, RDY
3. So can we thank the Deeluxe 700T's red buckles for the red bling on the new TD3's? Personally I can't stand the red, but to each his own. Are the TD3's going to be offered in other colors? How bout a standard stainless look like the TD2? What about the steel receiver kit? Can we get this w/o getting the red bling on it? I'm thinking it's going to look silly on my TD2's, and the red TD3's are going to clash too much on my orange flamed Coiler... Going to put my flame suit on now.
4. I have both TD2's and F2 Titanflex and in most cases I prefer the F2's. Jack you haven't tried the newer F2's so please don't knock them. That buttery feeling you're enjoying with that TD3 SI receiver has been enjoyed by us F2 SI owners for a couple years now. I think we can officially say the TD1/2 receiver is garbage? Once I change to Fins new steel receivers the TD2's may start to be used more? I certainly hope so because I like to bling out the Coiler with my Bombers! I'm not sure I'd like the red in the TD3 on my Coiler though. Perhaps Fin is going to fix that? Can I get black instead of red? P.S. Bruce pretty much told me I could use TD2 SI or F2's on his boards. Actually I don't think Bruce cares what we use on his boards...which makes me extremely confident in him and his products! :D
5. Does anybody have room for 2 for just Wed, Thurs, and Friday nights? If not I might be looking at a private St. Moritz room so if anybody wants to share or upgrade for those nights? I haven't even called the St. Moritz so they might already be gone? You need to be green friendly.

Request

Guys I'm putting up a bunch of trail maps on my garage wall as a mural type thing. I've gotten Crested Butte, Angel Fire, Taos, and Pajarito so far. I was wondering if you guys could hook me up with some of the CO ski areas I've visited? I'm only interested in ski areas that I've been to. The bigger the map the better, and I'm trying to keep them in the best condition possible! I usually just pick one up on my way out of the ski area. So here's the list of places I've been that I'd like to add to the wall: Breck Copper ABasin Ski Cooper Monarch Telluride Durango Aspen (all four mountains) Wolf Creek I imagine you could mail it to me for the price of a stamp? I'll be happy to Paypal cash or whatever, or pay you guys at SES. Or I can get them from you at SES or Monarch invasion... Or better yet I'll repay with beers at SES? My PM is enabled if you can help me out. Thanks!
7. The Lib Tech Dark Series (w/Magne Traction) carves incredibly well. How well do you ask? I'll put to you this way I haven't even broke out the Coiler 172 AM-T YET this season. I've rode the Lib with F2 Titanflex and my Head SP's every day so far. Even hit some small jumps and rails in the noob park at Angel Fire. I rode it this past weekend at Pajarito and some of the areas were "icy". This thing just held and held. I got so many looks from folks it was unreal. My heelside is coming along nicely with the help of BOL feedback and I was laying down some really nice carves on the Lib. This bad boy will be coming with me to SES for all you non-believers. If I didn't own the Coiler I'd be selling everything and just riding this beast. It's light years ahead of any softboot/BX board I've ridden. I'd guess the next best thing I've owned as far as "mainstream" carving boards is the Palmer Channel BX (which now belongs to my best friend and that board had a fresh PTC tune to boot). The Lib just blew that one away... Perhaps my technique is finally coming around? Or is the board THIS good? Guess I'll find out when I finally break out the Coiler this season which might not be until SES at the rate I'm going...
8. These are both 3 and 4 hole compatible. FYI
9. I do car detailing/paint restoration as a hobby and the best car product for this application would be Optimum's Opti-Seal. It's the easiest product I've ever used as far as a wax/sealant and it leaves a super-slick finish just like a high end nuba wax. The best part about Opti-Seal is you can use it on any plastic or trim product without worrying about it staining. I don't think there is any product that is going to keep everything off, but I think this is one of the better options I've tried as far as car products. You can do like 50 cars with one 8oz bottle and it's a "wipe on walk away" product so you don't have to buff out an haze like a traditional wax. I can bring a bottle to SES if you are interested (assuming you are going?).
10. Randy: Do you have the high res pic of that sign? I would REALLY like to poster that bad boy and give it to a co-worker. He LOVES him some cougars!
11. I wish my toilet sitting looked like that... On another note the tips/drills I was given to try this past weekend helped a ton and I look forward to more practice this weekend.
12. USPS it the ONLY way to ship to Canada to avoid crazy fees. If you are skipping insurance you might as well say it's a gift too.
13. The older TD1/2 receivers will become problematic with ANY level of snow around your heels. The worst is ice forming on the BOTTOM of the heel. I've almost gotten to the point that I'm going to carry a retractable flat screwdriver of some sort to knock off the ice while on the lift. Are you sure it's not snow/ice interfeering with the connection? If the pins cannot get low enough into the receiver they obviously will never fully engange. I have 10X less problems when I use my F2 Intecs. They also have the teflon coated receivers which Fin has claimed are the same as the bomber steel receiver just not painted black. I don't want to dispute Fin because he obviously knows 1000X more than I do, but every site I've seen that sells newer F2 Intec's talks about the "teflon coated receiver" that keeps snow/ice from sticking to it. Actually I saw Catek was selling F2's today in his email and when I went to the site it was in the description as well. Regardless if they are really teflon coated or not they are SO MUCH BETTER than the older TD1/2 receivers. I can only imagine Fin's steel receiver is light years ahead of the older TD1/2 counterpart whether painted, teflon-coated, or bare. It's really more about the shape/materials anyways IMHO. The bottom line is Fin has posted that he does not recommend using Fin-Techs with TD1/2 receivers so you need to upgrade regardless. Good luck!
14. As I recall 2004's didn't have flex options. I don't think they started selling the different flexes until 06/07. Correct me if I'm wrong...
15. Just pick some dates and let me know guys. If you all come down to Taos I'll even take vacation. Even better if you guys come down to Pajarito. I think you guy will fall in love with this little hidden gem.
16. BV told me I could use TD2's or anything else on my metal board w/o lexan plates. FYI
17. Well I just posted one too that's not eye candy by BOL standards. You can move it wherever you like. I've gotten zero replies on it so I guess my technique is PERFECT. How about a sub-forum for technique Q's?
18. If you click the vid and chose the high quality option it's much better. Can't ever get the exposure right on the camcorder. Maybe it's always overcast...who knows. :( I actually like what's going on from the waist down, but my upper body never seems to be where it needs to be on heelside? On toeside my upperbody is already in a great position but I stay there, cross under, and then I'm on the toilet on heelside. So what's a good drill to FORCE a cross over on my upper body during a toe to heel transition? The waist pinch? I can't seem to stop bending at the waist. This seems to be one of my biggest hurdles and is cramping my progression. Since my upper body is out of position so much my arms are all over the place. It just doesn't look fluent at all. Other stuff I am trying to concentrate on this season is always looking uphill which seems to have really improved my toeside. I've found it gets my upper body rotating back uphill and forces my hands to cross over the board as well. I've thought about using a ski pole or the like to help with the flailing arms? My goal this season I is to finally get a nice fluent style going on. I know I can carve, but I want to make it look good! Wish I could practice more...Might only get 20 days in this season. :(
19. Is this a standbail only type problem? I've never seen this and all I've ever used is Intec.
20. You don't have to hide the fact that the Priors with the metal topsheet are problematic boards. There is a reason Prior will no longer warranty this version of the metal WCR. They put it in fine print on their website as I recall. OTOH Prior has been known to give you a good deal if you call them and report in a broken 1st gen metal WCR.
21. On the other hand...sometimes I wonder if I'm giving people the wrong impression about alpine snowboarding and I'm a poser? I know I'll have that breakthrough day someday...
22. I don't think any of the cants in the picture are 3 hole compatible?
23. Always look uphill right before you transition into your next turn...
24. Scott you're going to **** your pants when you get to Aspen!
