  1. If we ever cross paths I'll let you give my Coiler 172 All Mountain Titanal a go. The only issue would be it's built for me at ~180lbs. Every board may have it's purpose but this board does it all. A true quiver killer. I demo'd a few boards at SES 09 and nothing really jumped out at me after owning the Coiler AM-T. There was a Virus 158 SL that I really got into though.
  2. I'm a Santa Fe Season pass holder this year. Took the plunge before the August 14th deadline. $460 bucks later... It works at Sandia too so that's always a plus. I feel a few sick days coming on in Jan/Feb.... So no Angel Fire for me this year. Sorry but the 6 hours round trip every weekend finally did me in...combined with the terrible snow last season. I hear the forcast looks good this year. Hope to see some of you at the ski swap.
  3. Still has storage wax on it from the end of 2007/08 season. :( It's been wrapped up in my garage in a bomber board bag ever since. So how's about $100 + Shipping? I'll even scrape the storage wax, hot wax it, and brush in some structure. Hey that's gotta be worth 15-20 smackers right there! Just like to see it put to use....Don't be shy I'm a nice guy. :) PM me.
  4. Still avaliable. $150 shipped to lower 48...OBO.
  5. I think I wore off 1/2 my shoe foot breaking to keep Tom in front of me. The videos really give you no sensation of speed. It's a lot faster than it looks! A good rain keeps the ditches clean. We're in monsoon season here so it's been pretty nice. Only bad part is when somebody washes their car or anything that creates drainage. But Tom handled the little bit of water well and my Kryptons did well too. The transitions are buttery smooth above Tramway and the walls are much higher up there. The footage of the upper half wasn't anywhere near as good. Once you bomb the tunnel the transitions are solid but the walls are smaller. It's still as fast as you want it to be though. The second tunnel is where the transitions get a little more angled but even then it's pretty tame compared to most ditches I've seen... From the foot bridge to the 2nd tunnel there is a walking path that runs adjacent to the ditch that you can actually exit out of the ditch onto the walking trail and dive back into the ditch. Still waiting to bust my arse doing that one but it always gives you a massive rush!
  6. Be sure to watch it in HQ! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VimxjCNN8W0&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VimxjCNN8W0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> If you're ever in town or passing through shoot me a PM and bring your board and pads! John
  7. Actually it's in CO. ;) I hung it up around March 25th. NM just sucked this year and after SES everything sucked in comparison. I could have enjoyed the powder weekends at Wolfie but 5 hours one way seemed a bit much. 21" is nothing for Wolf that is a small storm. The waterfall area is some of the best lift accessed "backcountry" powder riding that I've ever ridden. I got so far out I thought I was lost for sure, and I had thoughts of having to walk a mile+ in waist deep powder....it's the only time boarding I've ever felt like I might die out there.... This was right after those two poor guys got lost out there only to be found in the summer thaw...poor guys. :( 75 degrees in Albuquerque today. It snowed here last week. LOL We are in full on Spring mode and the drainage ditch skateboarding is in full swing. Sounds like TPalka is coming down for some arroyo fun next week!
  8. KTM 525/530 EXC-R. I have the 530 AND a CBR1000RR, and I'd give up the CBR if I only could keep one. The KTM is such a blast to ride. Dirt, street, commute. It does 100mph with stock gearing. Where do you want to go today?!? Find a nice used 525 and get some SuperMoto tires. You will not regret it.
  9. Welcome to NM conditions in March. Not to mention this winter has been horrible.
  10. Enjoy the slush! Damion I think we are going to Pajarito Sunday instead of AF. It's their last day open so we want to use our last ticket. Not like we're missing anything at AF anyways...
  11. What kind of board is it and how did it happen?
  12. No, it's $150 freakin bucks! Most bindings sell for more than that! I don't have any to throw in anyways... I will, however, offer free shipping to the lower 48. So $150 shipped. Might be a little more to Canada, HI, and AK...
  13. You're right Jack, and I think all of us are thankful and appreciative of the few industry folks we have supporting us. They are doing us a favor, sure, but this is, however, a business. That is the bottom line for all of these companies. If it was not profitable they would not be doing it I'm sorry to say, and I would argue that customer service plays a big part in that. Perhaps there is a reason why Bomber is full time and Catek is part time. Following me? And I still think Donek's excuse is invalid as far as the simple task of answering an email. This is not the first post about poor customer service or lack of communication from Catek. There is a pattern developing here that sadly isn't helping them. If Bomber has a pin that is breaking on their product it is in their best interest to remedy the problem. Look at how Bomber handled that issue-another example of fine customer service. How much time was invested in fixing that problem? I received a a mass mailer from Catek a couple days ago that probably took a several hours to compose but yet they can't take the time to reply to one guy's email?
  14. I see nothing wrong with this guy posting his opinion of his recent transaction. You guys are just too quick to defend and are really missing the point of his post. It's not about the 14 days it took to receive the item. It's lack of communication. If Mr. Catek would have just send this guy an email in a reasonable amount of time this post would not exist. PERIOD. Mr. Catek could have taken two months to ship the bindings and I'd bet money that the OP would have no issues if only there was communication going on between both parties. Don't give me this lame excuse about alpine dwindling and a crappy economy because it takes a whopping 30 seconds to reply to an email. If somebody is too busy to respond to emails then perhaps that person needs to re-evaulate his priorities for his business. A little hand holding goes a LONG way with an internet business. A quick one-liner reply via email and this issue isn't happening right now. I understand if he's got a real job and this is his side-job or whatever. Fine then perhaps a 24 hour window to reply to emails is reasonable. But two weeks w/o a response? That's just rediculous. I expect that from crappy Ebay sellers but not from folks in the alpine industry. How long does it take Bomber to reply to emails? Definately within 24 hours. Sometimes it's a matter of minutes. There is a reason why everybody agrees Bomber has arguably THE BEST customer service in the industry. So please stop bashing this guy who is allowed to his opinion. Sure his tact might be a bit off, and perhaps he should have taken it up with Mr. Catek himself, but there is that little issue of lack of communication. So perhaps it WAS time for him to take it to a public forum because he's NOT getting any replies back via email. Flame on. P.S. Bomber is able to do their thing with two people, so why can't Catek offer the same level of customer service?
  15. When we went to Ski Cooper in 2006 we had the whole mountain to ourselves... Ditto on Monarch. The further south you go the less crowded it's going to be. You should try Taos on a weekday!
  16. With 60 deg temps @ Angel Fire yesterday they are just buying time at this point. At this rate the base will be gone by March 1st. I rode the Coiler @ AF for the first time yesterday. Might be the last too. I was thinking Pajarito this coming weekend but I haven't talked to Sean or Robert about it yet... This weather is just rediculous. Looks like highs in the 70's in Albuquerque this week. AF highs in the 50's... I miss Aspen. :(
  17. I have the resort list on the first post... I got ABasin but I still need to dig through my stuff to see if it's still in good shape. If you can help PM me and I'll reply back with my address. I can paypal any cash for postage or whatever. No biggie! TIA
  18. Guess I shoulda looked for the guy on the bling-bling Virus? :) I'm pretty sure Monarch is ~ on the New Mexico ski schedule. AKA the season ends April 1. They might do a couple more weeks... Maybe we'll have to end the season with a ABasin trip or Lovey trip. Sure is a long drive for 1 day though...
  19. I scored a A-Basin map at the Bomber House! I didn't get anything from you guys at SES though. It wasn't on any of our minds... Saw Mario and Inky's crew on Friday for first tracks. Wish we could have made some turns on a bluebird day together... Are we invanding Monarch again this year? The season is going to end soon!
  20. Will you be there Sunday Damion? Sean is talking it up about hitting the big jumps in Liberation. I'm bringing out the camcorder for this one... Think I'm going to be on the Coiler for the first time this season at Angel Fire... We need more snow!!
  21. Sorry Damion I don't need another hobby I'm addicted to. I also don't like to be forced to make turns where people want me to. Just not my bag. I'm a freecarver not a racer! Plus I wouldn't want to have to beat all of you on my first go at it...
  22. Post negative feedback, file a complaint through Ebay and Paypal. Make sure he refunds any fees you were changed to move the Paypal money around... Cruise by his house and shoot his dog too.
