  1. I do find myself carving in the morning on hardboots and in the afternoon using a soft boot setup but still for carving and riding all mountain style. Up until last year it was 100% hardboots for the last 15 years. Kinda fell in love with softboots carving again this past year with the quality of board / bindings / boots we didn't have a few years ago. If we did I wasn't aware of it :)
  2. Yah, having flash back, if I remember well I bought the board locally from Kijiji from a guy who also lives here in Montreal. That thing was a beast... needed so much speed and our runs are too narrow so I had to let it go.
  3. I'll check if I still have pictures somewhere in my old files. Lowrider do you remember what year you bought the board ?
  4. I've been dedicated hardbooter for the last 15 years. Last year I tried a few softboots board / boots / bindings. So many choices. This year I have a few softboots setup in the quiver and it's very impressive how well it carves and it's fun to ride. Nothing will beat my .4 coiler on a quiet groomed morning, but I'm definitely having fun on my soft setups and it's a lot more versatile. I would say this year it'll be 50/50. I've seen a few people that I know who is slowly moving away from hardboots. Not sure if it's a trend across all of us but it won't help hardboots sale.
  5. In the quiver I have a 2008 Race carve from Coiler, I still use this board regularly and it doesn't show any signs of weaknesses.
  6. Might be lawyer stuff but people outside the forums who have no clue and ordering are really getting screwed over if nothing is being processed and shipped.
  7. We don't need any details on the why / how / who... I'm no business expert but an update from them would make sense business wise and also out of respect for the community. Reasure your clients that you are still taking order or say you aren't for now that things are on the hold until further notice.
  8. 24.6 if I remember well on my 157 157 = 24.6 160 = 24.9 163 = 25.2
  9. Trying something new this year. This is a board from Endeavor Snowboards, it's not listed on their web site. The board was produced for the Korean market as carving is a big deal there. They have it in a 157-160-163. I'll be using it as a softboot carver but I'll be tempted to try it on with the hardboots as well. I've had very good contact with them, very knowledgeable and definitaly fun to work with. The board build is very good. Hopefully the board is just as amazing to ride !
  10. I found some cheap plane tickets to Salt Lake city and we have a good amount of time off from school my son and I (me teacher him student of course). So we are looking into going to Park city area for 4 days from 29th of March to April 3rd. I'll be on soft setup, it's just more fun with my son. What can I expect condition wise late in the season ? It'll be Easter weekend so it'll probably be crowdy but not much we can do there. Anywhere we ride it'll be crowded. No sure which mountains we will ride, I still have to look at the pricing of different places. Thanks for the info Ernie
  12. I've been riding gecko's since the begining and I have mutliple sets. I have tried multiple configuration and I don't see much different when using yellow bumpers in the end like your pictures. Using them asymetrical seems to give good results for me. Try different configuration and take notes, see what works for you.
  13. I have a Fullbag Diamond Blunt and the more I ride it the more impressed I am with the board. I used it with hard and soft boots. Very impressing how well it can carve and the surfy fells it has. Amazing board for the price. You'll love it.
  14. I'll make this short. I have a long nagging history with a back problem and done a lot of PT and everything else with some results but PT is expensive and insurance cover so much. I saw this guy https://www.facebook.com/romfitness/ had a talk with him and figured out at the point where I am 90$ is worth the risk if I can gain a little. Changed my life.
  15. Sold will ship them tomorrow . thanks
  16. Bought these at the start of the year and then sold a few boards. I have more bindings than boards right now and really prefer my TD2's. They have about 10 runs in them, in very very very good condition. Comes with everything beside the retail box. I have the leash also that is not in the picture. Size M (24.5 - 27.5) They fit my 27 UPZ with room to spare. 180 US plus shipping. I can ship from either Canada or USA (in May, maybe earlier if we go to VT on easter) Thanks
  17. I have Td2's (3 sets) and ride them hard and it's been more than 10 years on them and no sign of failure. I'm nut sure if the full inside disc makes a difference on how stiff they are. Glad you are ok and no injuries happened.
  19. for icy slopes I got to test with Bruce an Nirvana Energy .4 metal - 174 and it has been beyond my expectation. I've been logging a days and runs from icy days , to softer days and it works amazingly. if you ride a lot of ice like here, you really want to consider a .4 board.
  20. Nous Avila était magnifique ce soir.. fond ferme avec un 2-3 de neige tapé pas trop dure par dessus... ça mordait
  21. Sold and shipped ! thanks everyone.
  22. 10/12/11 the sidecut, known as the tight .
  23. The board is a shorter variable sidecut 10 m but I kinda lost track of the specifics as we talked about so many things during that build. I know he has a .3 Energy demo but I didn't ride it and it's not the same sidecut. Before sending me the board he rode it and was very pleased with it. Since he had a very short time I finished all the testing on the board. The board isn't going back to Coiler HQ. From what we discussed the .4 will benefit a more aggressive rider and on ice from the added torsion. I personally like my board a little on the softer side of the flex spectrum with a stiffer torsion. It's not stiffer in flex than my other .3 boards. He nailed it. Je ne serai pas à QC le 14 car mon gars a des entraînements en bosses au Mont Gabriel.
  24. Perfect conditions tonight for testing. 12 hours of rain earlier this week and now freezing cold. So, the mountain is an ice cube from top to bottom. Some artistic grooming plus very nice marbles on top of it. Conditions where lightning fast. Board handled very well, very stiff in torsion. Never lost and edge and I pushed it hard. Not even sure I pushed it to its limit. The board has a shorter radius 10M and it feels just right for narrow runs we have here. I can go bigger or smaller not problem. The board is very predictable to ride. 2 days of riding on it and loving it on the ice.
