  1. Are you interested in selling just bindings?
  2. Trees are a nice aesthetic touch. Crashing into a tree on a dry slope would be sad.
  3. TD3 SW SI 3 deg cants - can swap out one with a 0 deg Yellow e-pads and e-rings Great condition - $425 plus shipping Only reason I am selling is because I have moved from Deeluxe to UPZ, and TD3's don't adjust down to small UPZ boot sizes.
  4. Sounds like the racer is way too far down the rabbit hole to be providing advice to beginners.
  5. I am looking to try a pair of UPZ's for my wide feet. Anyone looking to unload a pair?

I have a pair of BTS with yellows if you're interested.
  7. Looks like a rejected Flow prototype.
  8. Freeboard is fun on perfect pavement. Otherwise, absolutely terrifying.
  9. https://www.ebay.com/itm/SG-Alpine-Snowboard-16-17-Full-Race-Titan-163-Used-W-F2-Race-Titanium-Bindings/123684517486?hash=item1ccc2bf66e:g:yVIAAOSwa2tchF7J Not mine but $650 is a great deal with bindings.
  10. Yawn. Ever hear of Jeremy Jones, Terje Haakonsen, Xavier de le Rue? See the stances of top softboot riders and explain how duck is the best way for everyone. https://whitelines.com/snowboard-gear/set-up-maintenance/pro-snowboarder-stances-binding-angles.html#RowwC8HckbJUjv8s.97
  11. @Dw3 Your answer is right in your question. Don't sweat it if you've only been on hardboots for 4 days. You'll get used to switching between hard and soft, but the first few days is weird for sure. Keep the angles on the soft setup that have been working for you. Don't overthink it. If after 20 days, you have a preference for different angles, then adjust. I switch between hard and soft boot setups all the time, and other than on the first few runs of the season, it takes no time to adjust.
  12. @noschoolrider Thanks for the tips! I race CityLeague now. My son will join their Friday night kids program next year. They're the only ski program that will take kids. The other more traditional ski programs have said no. We are planning on hitting Bachelor for USASA in Dec.
  13. After assembling a setup from far and wide, here's my grom on day 5 on hardboots. Wish I started him on a board earlier. https://youtu.be/UI0nTrwLNlY
  14. Adjust your riding (style and gear) and embrace the conditions. 6" sounds like there is plenty of fun to be had as long as you are willing to adapt. Work on carving another day.
  15. Or are they making you feel like you are getting a deal by jacking up day rates? Interesting article about the lift ticket biz - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2019-03-01/epic-vs-ikon-battle-for-the-best-ski-pass
  16. What cants are included with bindings? Possible interest in full setup. Thanks.
  17. I cobbled together used gear from here, eBay and Facebook but it's not easy to build a setup just to try out. I will PM you about a board that may work for your son.
  18. Make things easier and reach the most people possible. First, make the info easier to access. Digging though the ATS forums is not an effective way to spread the word. Carver's Almanac is the most comprehensive site, but is clearly dated. Incorporate the info into ATS. Where's our own wikipedia page? How are we even a "thing" without a wikipedia page? Embarassing. We assume that people actually want to carve, but just need the right equipment and training. Suppose we can test that assumption by running a few carving events with demos and lessons at a single resort with lots of local and tourists, and good carving terrain, e.g., a main Summit County resort. Make it a carving event, not a hardboot event, offering a wide range of gear. Get people hooked on the carve and let them take it back to their home resort and decide their gear of choice. Leverage the event to get the word out in the press. If this can't work with industry support at a single resort, then we will know where we stand as a sport. As our softboot brethren say, "Go big or go home".
  19. @bigwavedave you would have enjoyed this week. Temps in upper teens, a little new snow at start of week so groomers were super grippy. Then a storm yesterday which filed in the moguls in the glades throughout the day. My last run on Bug Out was supposed to be just a trip back to condo but turned into the best of day blasting high speed bottomless powder turns.
  20. Mission is tops for carving. Best grooming and widest runs near Seattle. At 3 hours, it's a bit tough for a day trip. Baker is iconic for snowboarding for good reason. Most snow in North America and super interesting terrain. Go if you want to spend all day off piste. 2.5 hours. Crystal and Stevens are reasonable compromises for day trips. 1:45 from Seattle. Weekends can be zoos.
  21. I'll be up there on 3/2 with my boys. Good chance that it will be a pow board day based on forecast.
  22. Our local mountain had over 5' of dry fresh thanks to a series of storms and road closures. I went up to race last night and afterwards took a run off piste. While riding through fresh, I ended up head downhill face down with my board caught between two tree tops. Luckily, I was able to find another tree top to support myself while I released my Intecs. Walking out towards more packed out terrain was near impossible - snow was up to my chest, and I had a moment of terror when it covered my mouth. I used my board as a sled to get out. I would have stayed on my feet on a powder board and softies, but am glad I had the Intecs. Yes, there is such a thing as too much snow, so be careful out there, especially our friends in the deeps of Montucky.
