  1. So Barry...you’re saying if I gave Sean money for this thing, it won’t make me instantly look like that guy in the vid? You’re dashing my hope pal! Funny thing is...I can make a nice soft and easy free ride board look like a 2x4!
  2. Rode these last year. First time in an F2 style binding, where all my previous years were in Burton vari's, burton race, TD1's, TD3 SW's. I like these...very simple to setup and tweak...very well built. I bought mine from Bola (All Board Sports), as he was, at the time, the only US distributer to my knowledge. Now it looks like Dan is doing so as well.
  3. Wish this vid was still available. Like to watch again.
  4. Appreciate it if you can keep me up to speed on how this works out Scott.
  5. Happy New Year everyone. Was hoping someone knew how I may be able to get what I assume is the stock liner for the Deeluxe boots, such as the 325's...not the Thermo liner, but the liner with the tongue I see pictured in many marketing pics of said boots. I have several moldable liners I'm trying in my new 700's, but I'd like to find a pair of these as well to try. Ultimately I'm looking for a liner that has less volume in the fore foot area and maybe a little more in the heel area. After a conversation with Barryj, I've come to realize that the most likely candidate for the bruising I get on the outer sides of my feet is compression from the boot and liner. I tried my old/shot SB324 stock liners in the 700's and I get great heel hold and more room in the front of the boot. I'd use these, but they "ooze" some sort of glue at this stage of their life and eat socks constantly. Appreciate the help, Randy
  6. Thanks Scott. Interested in your thoughts of this particular boot, and what made you decide on it over the others, such as 700, or UPZ offerings.
  7. "Day 3 was ski-over-mark's-new-snowboard day. Twice, about an hour apart, two of the cutest 6 year olds you've ever seen skied right into the tail of my board. (I was, of course, off to the side, well away from the top of the lift, sitting stationary at a bench.) Because daddy had ridden around me and stopped on the other side of me, both girls, after being stopped abruptly by my snowboard, saw no option other than to continue to skate across my snowboard. 4 or 6 tiny adorable little steps each, skidding and scraping across my topsheet, jabbing at my boots and shins with their cute little poles. Oddly, the girl who did the exact SAME THING on day 4 was fully 35 years old and it wasn't cute at all. End result: Barely noticeable dulling in the finish. No identifiable scratches. You really have to look close in the right light. Carbonium FTW." - @MarkJeangerard So well written! I coughed coffee...a few times...
  8. I seem to recall seeing this somewhere, but cannot find it. Does anyone happen to know the shell size range for the shell that would fit a 27.0? Would this be 26.5 - 27.5, 27.0 - 27.5, or...? Appreciate the info.
  9. That was an absolute pleasure to watch! The guy(s) in the lime green UPZ...damn...never seemed to fall into any chatter moment, always on his sweet spot. I remember feeling that on a few days years ago, but cannot seem to get back to that...wish I could can what I was doing back then and always come back to it.
  10. I enjoy watching Cliff ride...very smooth. I remember speaking to him a few times back in the mid 90's, seemed like a nice guy. Anyone remember/know what he was riding back then? If I remember correctly he had his own line of boards for a little while...how about boots, bindings, etc.?
  11. Tried sending email, but bounced back indicating bad email address.
  12. Just checking back in on my old topic...any new input on any of these boards? Anyone made turns on Gray, Yonex, etc.?
  13. Thanks for the replies you guys. Colozeus, how much bias were you using prior compared to what you are riding now?
  14. Thanks Longbordin. I’ve read Beckmann’s article several times. I know he writes about toe lift and it’s effect on centering the front knee, but I wonder if biasing the Binding as well allows for more knee centering. Maybe he’ll jump on and provide opinion.
  15. Sorry to reply to an older thread. I've been very interested in this recently. I just started using a new pair of SG Performance (F2 Titanium Race) bindings, where as prior, I've always been in Burton/Ibex or TD3 SW's. I recall always trying to line up my boot center with the center of the binding. I was in a hurry to setup these new bindings and with toe lift in front and flat in rear, it seemed that to get the boot center mark over the binding center, the sleds had to be moved very far forward, where the heel sled was moved forward to the 5th hash mark and the toe sled was moved forward to where it was flush with the sled base...beyond the available marks. This looked strange to me at the time, even though the boots seemed centered on the bindings, and I instead simply adjusted the toe and heel sleds to accommodate my 27.0 700's and then made sure the toe and heel sleds were centered on the binding itself...same hash mark setting number on heel as toe. Off I went to ride and had a pretty damn good day of turning...seemed sweet spot was easy to stay in, etc. Fast forward to the following weekend, and my OCD crept back in prior to getting on the snow. I moved the sleds forward to get the boots center mark over the bindings. Went riding. Similar conditions, but felt off...not as "easy". Could have just been "off" myself...tired, etc. Fast forward again a day or so, and I'm back on BO catching up on new posts. Started reading recent posts on another Gilmour Bias type thread, which I've read about over the years but never really gave any true thought to. Wait a minute...hold on...I grabbed my board, set my bindings back to where the sleds were centered on the binding, loaded the front boot, compare the boot center to the binding center, and it looks back of center...maybe about .5 inches at most, but a little aft. Check rear boot. This guy seems closer to center than front, but still just slightly aft of center. So, is all this in my head...would I even be able to tell any difference at all between the two setups? In effect, is this somewhat an illustration of Gilmour Bias, or am I simply finding I'm a little more responsive/comfortable slightly heel bias...or again, am I off my rocker and need some form of medication to quiet my brain? Like to hear thoughts regarding if you have experienced similar, or are willing to share your particular setup and why you chose such.
  16. Wish these were still available...would like to try some different springs. To echo what others have already said, I went from 324's to 700's. I'm 225 lbs and I could not flex the damn things...but I ride lower angles than most, and their beauty is that they are stiff laterally...great for higher angles. I went yellow top/bottom on both boots and it's night and day. Only issue, and it's not really an issue, is that on hard heel or toe sides, my rear boot makes a popping noise, which is the spring I guess slipping in/out of its little housing.
  17. This! I rode exactly like Jim...burned into me from many years on an old burton m6 asym and vari-plates with fixed 45/35 angles with 6-7 degrees inward cant. Front quad was always burning. Turn initiation was quick...heel sometimes washed out if I didn't force my weight back. Actually, this setup for me was worse once I started riding same setup on symmetrical boards. Fast forward...slight toe lift up front, flat rear, narrowed my stance down a bit, and I've never been more comfortable and dynamic during my turns...eye opening for me to say the least.
  18. Damn that guy is smooth! Fun to watch that.
  19. damn! I've loving that! Ti Type-R VIw vs Vw? Daveo? Thank you for that West Carven!
  20. Thank you PaulEleven! I appreciate you jumping on and bringing the information and experience! This is what it's all about... I tried reading some of that thread...got lost and bailed. I started this thread with high interest in that Type R...and have learned a tremendous amount about the different offerings I had no idea existed! I need a few now...the Type R, that Yonex that Shred brought in, and I'm going to give this Alloy a go as well if possible.
