  1. Hey Slapos...hope all is well! I'd love to hear more about these S5's you mentioned. Might have already been discussed, but new to me as I've been absent for a while. The write-up, translated, on the Korean site reads like a novel. Good fit, stiff, soft, etc? Randy Kight
  2. Thanks...yes, I tried the obvious...no returned call...so I was wondering if others bought from other sources. The more I contemplate, I'd prob be more interested in that X plate...
  3. Ever since I started that thread last year about Gray snowboards, I've really wanted one. I love that shape! So, I'd most likely spring for a shorter Type R Ti of some sort if the "process" you mentioned is pretty straight forward. Very interested in hearing your honest opinion on how she rides/turns.
  4. Happy New Year everyone. Hope all you guys are doing well. I've not been active on here since last spring until just recent and trying to catch up with all the latest. Although we're not having a great season (70 some degrees today), I'm interested in picking back up on a few things where I had left off last spring, this topic being one. I'm interested in giving these a shot, as I've always got crappy conditions to deal with. If me asking the following question is against the rules in some form or fashion, my apologies...but what are some recommendations on where to purchase? I thought @Jack M was starting a review of plates in general as of last season, but I cannot recall for sure. I know @daveo has a couple of reviews out there...Not looking to get in over my head...no racing, just some added comfort and performance if possible. Randy
  5. Thanks Wiscorider. Boots are in route to Joe. Hope you enjoy Joe.
  6. Apologies for putting pics up late. If interested, just let me know.
  7. Purchased these for my son a few weeks ago, but they don't fit. In box, brand new. Liner is the standard Deeluxe liner with tongue. To expensive to send back, so willing to sell to my hard boot brothers/sisters for a pretty good deal...if you're interested in this style of boot. I'll get some pics up shortly, but again, all in box they came in...only one has been tried on. 350, but shipping not included.
  8. @pauleleven I’m curious about your 30 degree remark...Are you suggesting soft boot riders should not ride angles 30 degrees or more? @Puhutes, Cannot thank you enough for answering all the questions I’ve thrown at you lately. Randy
  9. Dammit! My apologies to all. I've ridden fences before, but I've been riding this one for so long I have splinters in my a**. I've hesitated as I've almost pulled the trigger on a pair of Mt. Slopes...several times now. Trying to justify all of this...and not sure when Bruce will make that call about my specifics.
  10. So Jack...your latest thoughts? Donek AF still easiest to benefit from vs the others, or...?
  11. Thanks Dave! Pm was above and beyond as well...as usual!
  12. When I loosen my BTS, the block comes off the boot when flexing back and forth. This goes away when tightening upper and lower springs...I would assume this method is much more efficient. I think overall the design of Roberto's system is better...in my opinion.
  13. Can any of you Zip Fit guys tell me if Zip Fit liners only come in "whole" sizes, which was explained to me as 26.5, 27.5, etc.? If I was to go this route, I would assume I would need what I've always used in other liners, and that would be a 27.0. Current boot shells max out at 27.5, but are marketed as 27.0 (Raichle/Deeluxe). And...if anyone can recommend a good place to buy, this would also be helpful.
  14. No drilling for UPZ, but for Deeluxe, you drill a small hole to ensure the block is tight against the shell.
  15. Hello TreeBeard...looks great. Can you tell me if in this pick you have the bottom springs set low as they can go? I'm curious as to how much forward lean I can take OUT of my 700's with this system. My BTS would never go low enough for me on the bottom spring. Also, how much trouble was it to drill that hole? Now...if you could post a quick vid of you flexing those things to give somewhat of an idea of how stiff/not stiff those particular springs are, that would be huge!
  16. Thanks for the update. Very interested in hearing about tomorrow and your thoughts overall after riding the different makes. I’ve always been interested, but hesitant after comments from many that mirror your initial thoughts after trying Fins original stuff.
  17. So @Jack M, what are your latest thoughts regarding your plate trial? Anxious to hear when you get to that point.
  18. I'm very interested in this. I rode Nordica SBH's for years. So, will the Atomics fit correctly into F2's with no modification? In locked mode, flex without springs compare to any of the other hardboot models out there now? Roberto, is this a 3rd spring system you make on top of the two other systems that are to be used with either UPZ or Deeluxe?
  19. So @Jack M, would you suggest Sean's plate you seemed to like so much for a more casual carver on narrower runs...south of you? Easier to comfortably "manipulate" (skid, etc.) than others? Do you feel the UPM insert vs the 4x4 insert makes/made a difference?
  20. And I can't wait to hear about the results Jack! @daveo has had me thinking about trying these since last season.
  21. My sincerest apologies to all! Especially if viewed just prior or during a meal. I’ve won a canoe race...without paddles...hands not involved! Nothings easy is it. Big thanks to all for the suggestions.
  22. Thank you Pow4Ever! Great info! I'm pretty sure that there are several on here ready to kick me off of the site with all the back and forth with this boot fence riding! Dave's probably first in line, maybe closely followed by Barry, Jack and WinterGold. My 700's are new, but seem to be a little narrow the last 70% of forefoot towards toes, especially on my little toe side. I realize there are more important things to worry about in life... My older 324's seem to be slightly better in this regard, but only slightly. I've got some meaty calves...and a little concerned about the upper cuff of the UPZ's, as well as being overly stiff for my riding. In all honesty, the 15 buckles on the UPZ seem a little blingy/overdone to me, and I question how necessary, but I'm no professional. But if these things fit with some comfort (I've reached 50 and pretty banged up with all the powerlifting/fighting/etc.), I'd be all over them. I would rather carve all day on groomed, but carving in all conditions is my ultimate goal, and in the past I've found the stiffer the boot, the more "less smooth" everything becomes, making it harder to stay in the sweet spot when in "all mountain" mode. Obviously this is only me and my limitations. Mighty sorry to do this to you guys, but the attached image (rather distorted due to fisheye) is an attempt at illustrating this. The outer foot area feels like it had it's but kicked in a 5 round fight after half a day. UPZ aid in this? I've diverted this thread a bit, and my apologies. I have come to my own conclusion that Roberto's design is probably better implemented than the BTS and am looking forward to getting them. Dave...Not sure what you mean by your last Note. Randy
  23. My apologies...I'm on the fence regarding boots this year, which makes a difference on which ones I order. If I can get this solved and you guys are still gathering buyers, I'm in...but don't want to hold you guys back if you are ready to go. Randy
  24. I’m in. Just need to decide on what boot I end up with this season.
