  1. Sorry I missed you. I'm couch surfing because of a sprained ankle. Trish and I look forward to riding with you at Powder Mountain next season, and to get away from the crowds at 'basin on the 'rookie days' when we become targets. Mick
  2. Sorry for the thread hi-jack, but yes I do remember you Tom. I was part of the Winterstick team and worked at the company also. Dimitrije got so tired of seeing me and getting phone calls from me asking about when they would finally start selling boards, that he brought #13 to Binghams to sell to me to 'get him off our backs'. First Winterstick sold to a customer. Great to hear from you Tom, keep on riding. Mick
  3. Cool video from "back in the day". It's great to see video and read about the true origins of the sport. Thanks for posting this bOardski. Mick
  4. Howdy Dennis, Great meeting you yesterday, sorry that we didn't get to ride together. But after coming to almost complete stops on steep terrain on the first of the morning recon run, I thought that the wind was a tad much. The news later reported winds to 103 mph on Ogden peak. Just a bit breezy for me and my wife. Hope you have fun riding today, it should be a Way better day. Mick
  5. Howdy Dennis, I'll keep an eye out in the morning for you, and check at the Nastar course on Bullwinkle. There are Intermountain Junior ski races going on this weekend also. They are held on City Hill by the bottom few towers of the Needles gondola. The parking starts to be a bit hectic starting at around 7:45 because of the Racer Kids parents driving them there. But it's all good since they are pretty much concentrated on that course. The last races they were loading mostly on the John Paul lift, and carving up Wildflower to get to the start. I'll be wearing an Acid Nightmare flashback Pixel outfit, green snakeskin Coiler, hopefully at or near the front of the line at Needles gondola. It should be another fine day of having fun. Mick
  6. Sent you a PM, We'll be there tomorrow, bright and early. Mick
  7. I hope that you have fun, these are both great resorts. Mick
  8. Howdy dredman and martyagt4, I just got home from riding today. and snow conditions were pretty nice for digging trenches. Flat light, but a fun day. Not as crowded on the weekends as the SLC resorts, but there can be a wait sometimes. This weekend all bets are off though. It will be swarming with the holiday Monday, early it's great then starts to clog up with all of the late risers. dredman, I might be there tomorrow, depends on how my wife feels, but for sure Sunday through the rest of the week. My friends and I are almost always in the front of the gondola line for opening. I ride a green snakeskin top Coiler. There aren't a lot of hardbooters, so my wife and I are hard to miss. It would be fun to meet up with other hardbooters to ride with. Mick
  9. Howdy Brownnick, Welcome to Utah! I am at Snowbasin almost every day, well maybe one day a week off. My wife and I are both there on the weekends. We are usually in the front of the gondola line to try and get first crack at the fresh cord. Usually you can't miss seeing me, I wear clothing that makes you want welding goggles to look at, or something to poke your eyes out with since it is so loud and bright. So I'm either a target or a moving Warning sign, target most likely since I got hit a few weeks ago. We both ride Coilers, hers is a blue floral pattern and I ride a green snakeskin Coiler, or one with a blue ice crystal topsheet. I'll definately be there on Friday morning and would be happy to talk about equiptment, and ride with you. Mick
  10. Howdy OhD, I ride daily at Snowbasin, just in case you decide to venture north from your home base. I'm always glad to ride with other people. Mick
  11. Wasman, I hope that you are having a great time at SES, very sorry about the skier ambushing you. Have fun with all of the other carvers. I wish I were there. Mick
  12. I got hit last week from behind when i was making a toeside turn on the same run that the Snowbasin STFU video was shot. Not a soul on the run, just three jibbernauts STANDING on a cat track to the side of the run, Standing not moving. After I had passed by them just before the gate that is now completely across the run, thanks to the infamous video, when Wham, I'm hit from behind on my left side. Not one person on the run besides me, and this jerkoff decides to drop in and then "where did you come from?" from mister you should look out for me because you are downhill from me, slams into me. And I'm in the wrong according to jburril by not continually looking uphill. HUH? Read the back of your pass please. Mick
  13. I've used my FinTec heels in F2 and TD3's no problem. I just prefer SI now. It's too easy. Mick
  14. Howdy David, I hope that you are having fun at the Park City resorts. Are you used to your Coiler now? Enjoy your time out here. Mick
  15. thanks, sent a reply to your post. Mick
  16. This is my second season at Snowbasin, and my wife and I have only met one other hardbooter there, Jeff P. utahdeafcarver on this site. There surely has to be other hardbooters who ride here. Maybe I'm just not seeing anyone else because of being there when the lifts open instead of being on the 'crack of noon' club. Is there anybody out there? Mick
  17. Thanks for posting that video Bryan, pretty interesting. But the flat brim hats scare me! Mick
  18. Snowbasin was fun today. Top half was good on runs and off. Then about halfway down the mountain if you ventured off into the untracked it was like suddenly throwing on the brakes. I managed to rag doll twice that way. But the snow is filling places in, and it was starting to snow again when I left around 2:00. Gonna go see what tomorrow brings. Yay, maybe winter is here now. Mick
  19. Howdy, I just got back from riding Snowbasin today. I have to agree with EmDee about the conditions on the Strawberry side of the mountain, Rugged would be too kind to describe it right now. After getting into our bindings and starting the traverse down to the runs, I looked down and it seemed to be as if suddenly I am riding in a GRAVEL PIT! The base of my Coiler was still a virgin, even after riding it all of last season, until one mistaken "hey let's check out Strawberry from my riding cohorts. Long story short, if you are riding at Snowbasin avoid the Strawberry side unless you REALLY hate your board. Aww well nothing a good base grind and structure can't cure. Mick
  20. Very nice Bryan, they look like wicked high speed fun. Mick
  21. Nice video Bordy. Location?
  22. Jeff I cannot believe that you have ever been stopped on the mountain. You are the most in control and courteous rider I know at Snowbasin. And as far as your riding, one day, in my dreams, I will be half as great of a rider as you. But, we all need to be aware of what is happening around us. So things have changed at SB, but we can stiil get our carve on. Mick
  23. Can I rub a Jenie bottle to be able to ride like Sigi?
  24. If I wasn't waiting to ride my brand spankin' new 171 Coiler, lack of snow, I would be sending you money today for that incredible ride.
  25. Thanks Mark, I don't know if I'm all that, but thanks. I just love carving I guess. Hopefully things will be better at Snowbasin after this incident. I'll be there the rest of the season so I hope this doesn't turn into the Hatfields vs McCoys type of feud. I just wanna lay trenches and have fun. Mick
