  1. Watch the video at about 4-11 seconds into it and you can see a munchkin come into the picture from the right side, probably who the first instructor is teaching, and the second instructor is watching out for. Then the kid rides right next to the first instructor to jib off a kicker and comes between the instructors and the munchkin. I would think that would set the instructors off enough to call out the older kids. The patroller still should have handled it better. And Thomas no carving on Wildflower, John Paul lift is not open yet. There has been 27" and holding for weeks now.
  2. I ride almost daily at Snowbasin, and have NEVER been stopped, harassed, or been given a stern lecture by either Ski Patrol or Mountain Hosts or Instructors. I have gone down that same run leaving trenches at speed passing ski school and patrollers, not so much as a peep from them, guess I'm more in control and not jibbing. BUT, that portion of run (Bear Hollow) is the WORST area on the whole mountain for Jibbernauts to hit homemade jumps and come back onto the run without looking for other people on the run. I understand that everyone has the right to have as much fun as possible, but it would be nice if the Shawn White wannabes jibbed and bonked somewhere less congested, like in one of the 3 terrain parks. Or if you are getting your jib on, on a run, a LEAST try to pay a little attention to your surroundings. The patroller blew it by saying STFU, but I'd bet the frustration level with the knuckle dragger attitude by a lot of the 'local' riders begins to wear on you to the point of not STFU, but 'my fist in your face'. And yes please do go to another resort and tell all your friends also, that just makes it less congested and safer from Team Jib Bonk for everyone else that are there to enjoy themselves. JMO Mick
  3. Nice pictures, only being your third day riding alpine gear. Maybe some of the instructors and others here on BOL can offer you some riding tips. Have fun making trenches. Mick
  4. Great looking board. What wax are you using for the best glide on freshly groomed lawn?
  5. Sorry off topic. So, if a cell phone rings in the woods someone must answer it? Mick
  6. Why would it matter if it was"stored on the tail"? Mick
  7. A guy comes into the lodge before opening and asks my wife and I, "what are those things out by the tables"? We reply Alpine boards, why? "I've never seen anything like those before, are they snowboards? Granted this is a tour from San Diego for a week vacation at Snowbasin Utah , but "are they snowboads" caught me off guard. Mick
  8. Hope you had fun today, and more fun tomorrow.
  9. I like those kinda training tips.
  10. Thanks for posting that video Nils. Great 80's surfing at Les Arcs. I had a blast riding there in '81, just wish that there was snow like that when we were there. Mick
  11. Quite the Coiler quiver there. What model is the one on the right? I'm still waiting for more coverage here to take out my new 171 VSR AM extra tight with regular ASYM core. That woody topsheet sure looks good, hope you enjoy the ride. Mick
  12. Interesting to hear that your Deeluxe Track 325's are softer than your Raichle's. I just bought new Deeluxe Track 225's to upgrade from Raichle 413's and the 225's are quite a bit stiffer, and narrower in the fore foot than the 413's. Maybe the Track 225's have a stiffer tongue than the Raichle's? I'll probably have the Deeluxes blown out for more room, and try to find a softer tongue.
  13. I did in late spring of this year, Apr./ May time frame. Don't know exactly when it was no longer a problem, but I've been able to post within the last few months. Mick
  14. I did last year, didn't seem to be any problems then. However this is not last year and things could have changed since. Try contacting Dave at hardbooter.com or calling. When I talked to Dave last year at the phone # listed he was home then. Mick
  15. I'll be trying out TD-3 SI this winter. I've always rode bail type plate bindings, it will be interesting to see the difference in "clipping in" by just stepping down vs leaning over to snap the toe bail on.
  16. Welcome to the world of carving. Good luck and have fun this winter.
  17. I stand corrected, I know one, Andrew Boxx, the guy totally tears it up, very impressive rider. Maybe utahcarver has some pictures of him riding.
  18. Sorry, I'm a Dinosaur and don't know any Hardbooters under 35. Mick
  19. Bryan (oldsnowboards) once again thank you for being such a help and posting photos of the Coiler. I owe you. If you find your way to Utah this season I'd love to ride with you at either Snowbasin or Powder Mountain and definately buy you a beer for your help. Thanks Mick
  20. Thanks for all of the inquiries and emails, the board is going to a good home. Mick
  21. Selling 176 SCR AM metal Coiler. I bought it early spring this year from Bobby Buggs. Rode 4/5 times, half days, then I'd ride my 165 VSR ASYM. Asking $400+ shipping, paid $500 when I bought it. I do not have a paypal account if that is a problem. PM for photos. Thanks Mick
