    Yo Lci!!

The regulars are busy climbing hills on their bikes. They will be back to muddy the thread soon enough (late October-ish?)

Yeah... Even the Jews go there....
  13. I'm with you on this. This makes the board seriously irresistible.
  14. I've discovered road biking and have been burning up the miles. Weird. Never thought it would be so much fun! Dropping weight too but not like the ppl above. Still more to go. But seriously, when does this summer thing stop? Need snow!
  15. Been piddling on this for a while now. (my summer project is the same :)) My thoughts on this is do both top and bottom and keep the angle low (~35-45 degrees). Just the top would add stiffness but adding top and bottom would add much more (top + bottom >> 2*top). Another more interesting option is to wrap the core with a single CF tow at a very low angle (20ish?) many times. The real questions are: How many to add? Differences between front and back? Thickness profile of the core? More or less triax? So many questions so little time (and money!) P.S. the pre-stressed idea works great when the tensile material has low stiffness (kevlar or steel in concrete). Trying to pre-stress carbon is an exercise in futility.
  16. Plastic degrades over time. Sun exposure and mechanical stresses accelerate this process. This is the reason you have date stamps on plastic parts (see image below. Plastic does not necessarily get weaker. It gets brittle. This means that it can fail in new and exciting ways. My personal preference is no more than 5 years for "mission critical" parts. Do people still use older boots and bindings? Sure. Is it a good idea? Last I checked, emergency room visits are far more expensive than new bindings. My $0.02

    *I get medications.
  18. yup, just saw that. wish there was a duh button
  19. Wrong comparison. The 700 is obviously not from the same mold as the 425. Need to compare the 425 to the 325. These DO look like they are from the same mold:
  20. Abasin probably open to early/mid June.
