  1. It's an opportunity.... Good? Bad? Depends what you make of it. I can think of a couple of ways to change and improve having this as a challenge. Just off the top of my head... 1) Other metals? Does it have to be this alloy? 2) Other shapes? Can you perforate the .4 sheets to reduce weight? I bet with some careful planning you could get the same performance with comparable weight. 3) Different design? With the readily available FEA tools combined with more advanced 3d designs I would bet that there are designs that would work well without metal. Point is that there are ways around any limitation. I am willing to bet good will come of it. Chin up!
  2. Stepping off 6 in Lovey, a 4 yr old looks at me and says:"that's a weird snowboard you have mister. You have ski boots ". From the mouth of babes.
  3. I second (third?) Loveland. Coming from the Ice Coast (Killy was my home mountain) I can tell you that even though Loveland is considered a "small" mountain it is waaaaay bigger than anything out east. Runs are far longer and wider. Don't look too far into the weather forecasts. The snow is still going to be there on both those weeks. The locals like to complain about "ice". They keep on using that word, I do not think it means what they think it means. (meaning that powder that is not completely soft gets the moniker ice and will be complained about) Still, here's a good forecasting site for snow weather: https://opensnow.com/location/loveland SUV? Why would you need one? Unless it's really dumping in which case what you really need winter tires and no rental will give you that. I've been driving up pretty much every weekend for the past two seasons and had only a couple of "scary" days. I don't see any of those in the near forecast. Other than that be prepared for the altitude! Some barely notice it while some get really sick. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE DANGER OF ALTITUDE SICKNESS!!! Drink a lot of water throughout the day. It's dry here and it will help with the altitude. If you feel woozey cut your day short and drive down. Better to loose half a day than half a brain. No joke. Let us know how you like it and please don't let anybody else know about Loveland.

Great meeting and seeing you guys! Now need a week to recover. This is fun! I'm sure once my quads get some feeling back they would agree.

    Yo Lci!!

I'll take credit for the RT.
  6. Thanks Bryan! Btw, those Cateks rock! Mario, I'll be there next Sunday knocking knees and all (Vikings helmet )
  7. Forgive me skidders for I have carved! I have been trying to carve for 2 full days now. Seeing videos, reading posts... No dice. This is hard! Today it clicked. Lift 6 was busy but Deuces Wild was blissfully devoid of people. I was trying out the norm and failing miserably and then miraculously the tail found this nice trough dug by the nose and the board did it's best impression of a slingshot putting me in some very uncomfortable speeds. Am I still up? Why yes. Let's try that again. Wohhoo. Had to stop and take a breather. Looked behind and saw a trench! Not a very impressive or a very neat none but a trench nonetheless. And then even Deuces got busy. Something about a wedding. Go figure. Need to try that again when there's less two planked land missiles on the slopes. (Just had to get that off my chest )
  8. Check out this site: www.thegoodride.com They're a bit of Burton fanboys but have lot's of good info. I'm a Burton fanboy too for the soft setup.
  9. That makes sense to me but every so often I see MP28 boots with either a US size 9 or a US size 11. Also, if this is the size of the lower shell that doesn't leave room for the liner. Didn't mean to hijack the thread but something doesn't make sense.
  10. I'm confused too! I wear 10.5 and measured my foot to be 28.5MP. Trying out 28.5 boots they seem to fit perfectly at first but them my foot magically shrinks after a couple of minutes. WTH?!??!
  11. Title says it all. Looking for 28.5 mondo boots (10.5 US) Got boots. Thanks!
  12. What's the recommended weight for the 188? Would it work for 220 lbs? I'm definitely interested.
